Anyway, in case anyone is interested here are the details of the Eridani-h Program.
Stage 1: Flyby Probe

These probes will undertake flybys of several nearby stars, including the Epsilon Eridani and Alpha Centauri systems, gathering and sending back data during their journeys.

Stage 2: Interstellar Craft Testing
During the probe transit and information transmission stage, the next phase involves testing the feasibility of a Scrin methology interstellar vessel. Central to this endeavor is further study of the G-drive. Scrin shielding technology to protec from debris and radiation during near-light-speed travel. Scrin stasis fields to place human crew in during the transit period. Advanced EVA-AIs and pinhole wormhole communicators to facilitate oversight throughout the stasis period. Onboard capabilities for in-situ resource gathering and manufacturing to enable the construction of necessary equipment and repair of any damages encountered during the journey on site.

Stage 3: Alpha Centauri Test Mission
Given its proximity as the nearest solar system, Alpha Centauri will serve as the first destination for a manned mission. With a G-drive acceleration of 0.55g, the journey to Alpha Centauri is projected to take seven years in Earth time and five years aboard the spacecraft, achieving a maximum velocity of 0.89c. This mission will provide invaluable insights into the practicalities of interstellar travel and human endurance in deep space.

Stage 4: Epsilon Eridani-h Mission
The final stage of the program is the ambitious mission to Epsilon Eridani-h. Utilizing the same G-drive technology, this journey is expected to span fourteen years in Earth time and seven years on the spacecraft, with a maximum speed of 0.96c.

Due to security concerns, the manned missions will only be launched once the Scrin presence around Jupiter has been taken care of.
 
Approximately how long would it take to get data back on the flyby probes?
I'm guessing we wouldn't be using ansible comms on the probes.

AC is 4.37 ly away from Earth and EE is 10.5 ly, so it will take 4.37 and 10.5 years for the info to come back once it has actually done its flyby. How long it takes to get there depends on how much cash the SCED can put into building the laser array.
 
Hrm... I wonder how much deceleration you can get off solar winds and ramming through a heliopause from the outside. All manoeuvring would have to be done by an onboard computer for obvious reasons, but any increase in linger time at the target would be good.
Perhaps a reverse gravitational slingshot to dump velocity if there is a suitable heavy planet? We'd need to have a very smart probe to work that out. Might not be feasible for first gen interstellar probes.

Done. I'm not waiting for the last second to do the Stealth Disruptors and I want as much practical experience with our Tib tech as possible so one more round of Energy Plants because they are also Liquid Tib Refineries now. Also Thunderbolt because our Munitions department has nothing to do.

Everybody wants it done. The question is if they want it done this turn for sure or if they are OK waiting for next turn if the Dice roll low.
