.I'm guessing that Matter Conversion in red means that it's considered a massive issue?
Who knows honestly? I thought it meant it was a massive combo of keywords reaching a endgame result, like if we somehow combined enough DNA samples and got lucky to get a 6+ of the same keyword plus something extra we get X as a result? Shot in the dark but ill say some of the "ingredients" for Matter Conversion may lie in Energy Manipulation/Absorbtion being at 5-6+ plus some extra key words. Highly unlikely we will find the proper "recipe" but hey its a cool thought experiment.

Edit: Might be a combo of what I previously said plus Transformation actually.... If I remember correctly Rhys Autobiokenesis is said to use Biomass and thats a combo of a lot of Transformation Keywords. So... hmm im going to say Matter Conversion is 5 transformation keywords plus 3-4 Enegy Manipulation/absorbtion Keywords somehow making self biokenesis into something that works with the enviroment. Probably wrong in the ratios but i do think its in the right dirrection....

Qm did say there was a 9 keyword synergy wouldnt be suprised if that Matter conversion

I Just woke up, and I see discussion is quite lively, man this many Dna samples are going to spoil us for choice, anyway. Might as well bring both girls, Maddie is easily explained and Mona can easily be waved off as being slightly inexperienced at the time, not really good in a clusterfuck scenario like the Leviathan fight. Plus, I dont trust our dice rolls not screwing a "simple" mission over.
Seriously... with our luck we will somehow end up in a fight....

[X] Plan: Bury the Hatchet v.2
-[X] Black Swan
-[X] Menagerie Witch
-[X] Conciliatory. You two have been the premier heroic organizations in Horizon for the last ten years, and the bad blood between has been ridiculous. You won't be a pushover, but you will do all you can to emphasize you're all on the same team.

Not a big fan of bringing both, but I'll go with it just in hopes of having our backs covered if the dice try to stab us in the back.

[X] Plan: Bury the Hatchet v.2

Lady Leizi showing up to negotiations with a very young adult and an even younger teenager in tow is not much of a power play, but it definitely shows off the current character/state of Justice Unlimited.

The reaction should be interesting. Bringing along a child you recruited from a gore-soaked abattoir certainly implies a somewhat... desperate, threadbare organization. Not entirely inaccurate, all things considered. It just isn't intended to remain accurate for very long, with the plans already in motion.

Black Swan's expression is usually serious.
I think that meant to say "unusually serious"?

Alright! I got here a bit late, but I woke up from my sleep. I don't have enough time for the full quote fest, so here's a quick overview of what I've seen so far.

Medicant
  • AKA Alice Lawson.
  • What can I say? They're a cutie.
  • It also seems that making symbiotes takes from their biomass, and they need to know what the disease they're curing is first, which are some interesting drawbacks.
  • 3000 per sym is reasonable. It's an extra life, what's not to love.
Floating Venom Morpheme
  • What's a morpheme again? (Googles)
  • Ok, so turns out we should have probably figured out that it would fuck with our speech. That's on us.
  • It's dead now, and we can get a fuck ton of money for it! Yay!
Apiary (The Person)
  • To nobody's surprise, Rosemary was awesome as fuck.
  • Being a potential existential threat is part of why I love this quest— it shows so many out there powers you wouldn't see in Marvel or DC.
  • She's also a sweetheart.
  • With her final actions, she created…
Apiary (The Building)
  • "it has her heart" is very literal.
  • Of course no other hero team could have gotten in! They're all too selfish for her standards!
  • Also, her soul's still in there, just diminished somehow. Mona saw her and got the temp stamp of approval. Nice.
DNA Profiles
  • Mister Hunch is a nice 1 cost supplement. Good for when we'll need more Espionage.
  • Ms. Conception (why tho) is nice for esp as well, and illusions are always fun.
  • I mean, Bulwark could help if we're too cheap to make more shields.
  • Nox is very fun. We can put him with C. Soprano and Memoria for the Defiance Unit Special.
  • Zeno is absurd. 9 is a new record, and he has two synergies naturally. Literally Gojo. How did anyone even kill him? Trickery? That's the only way I can think of.
  • Also time manipulation is something we can get. Cool.
  • And Apiary. We can't use her yet, because her DNA is currently in the make people explode range. But holy shit.
  • Also, if we're talking about red powers— personally, I think those powers are ones that have the chance to cause extinction events. If we somehow copy whatever the Frozen Throne is, we'll likely see another red.
Exceed-Beyond

Somewhere in the future…
"You're right Scarlet Maturity. You have one of the best powers in the world. It's probably not even a sane idea for me to be standing here."

"Because I only have one power."
(exceed armor starts flying in)
"I can't do anything a metahuman could on my own. I can't fly like Mona. I can't transform like Rhys. I can't punch like Lady Leizhi."

"There's only one thing I can do. There's only one power I have."
Exceed armor finishes equipping.
"…the power to use this armor to exceed my limits. That's the only metahuman power allowed to me."

(If you can recognize that reference, bonus points to you!)

As for potential candidates, we've got 4 that come to mind. Keep in mind, we'll need to get them to 10 with Spoonful Of Sugar.
  • Rei (has been mentioned in quest, at min 7 tolerance, is a literal Kamen Rider in my story.)
  • Yara Olivera (Uiara's sister, likely very strong)
  • Whoever we get from the Magical Girl questline. (Likely to be very stronghearted and also nice)
  • Heavenly Astrologian's daughter (very determined, also confirmed to be high tolerance)
As for my plan, this seems good.

@ Ibis: Don't judge someone by what power they have. Judge them by how they use it.

He had a very long conversation with Lady Leizi. Maddie said she was so disappointed in him and John Henry was like, "What the hell?" Ibis was devastated.

Tbf to Ibis, he never met Rosemary. Like most people, his only encounter with her is when a swarm of super-powerful bug-people engulfed the city. His sentiment is not uncommon. There's a reason why Scarlet Maturity got away scot free with brazenly murdering another hero during a crisis.

Which is why Nora build module "rock" specifically to kill him.

Devastated? I think you messed up the spelling there.

Also, Maddie saying that she's disappointed in you is probably the most shameful thing that can happen to you in Horizon.

Really? Huh. Then what were the other two built for? Just general use?

Also, about rock…
Module "Rock": Enhanced Strength, Advanced Energy Shielding, Power Nullification
Enough strength to hurt SM even by a bit. A incredible shield (thanks, Bulwark) to protect from his punches.

And of course, an equalizer to prove that he's nothing without his powers. It wouldn't be easy to kill him with this, but I can see it would work.

Also, just to let folks know, the current leading vote is the same as the second place vote with one fewer character because I made the vote confusing (bad QM!) because double check to make sure you voted the version you actually want!

[X] Plan: Bury the Hatchet v.2

We probably won't run into any major issues of explanation given the stories behind both Mona and Maddie, so I'm fine changing my vote here.

Just a heads up, I changed Zeno's tags. After thinking about it, I realized one wasn't accurate to what powers he had and then I decide to combine two possible synergies because they're basically the same thing (and had nearly identical and arbitrarily different requirements to getting them).

Ok so I haven't read all the comments, but if Zeno could freeze molecules with his first power, couldn't he theoretically stop all the raindrops in his field of view during a storm? If someone's moving fast through that when he does, physics can handle the rest. Situational offense.

Did momentum keep when he released his object freezing first ability? If he stopped a bullet in midair that was flying towards a friend, then released it after they got out of the way, did the bullet continue on it's initial trajectory or drop to the floor?
