[X] [Strong] Demand a duel with each man, declaring whoever does best will be your new Sworn Shield (Dice Rolls Involved)

Are these gonna be in succession with a gradually exhausting Rhaenyra or different days?

[X] Ser Desmond Caryon
We need loyalty more than we need talent in our Kingsguard.
Oh gods, that actually hurt a little to say out loud.

Honestly Cole's still kinda in overawed hayseed rising to greatness mode, he'll probably agree now and then let it simmer and fester. Plus he's a Marcher lads, even more than Tarly he's likely heard about and perhaps even seen Dornish spearwomen before.

Bright young Mallister I think, would the knight most prideful about their natural talent and their family's generations of noble service, and most likely to unman themselves enough in shock and anger that they just bail in embarrassment.

Question about Daemon, as I have only broad knowledge of HotD - did he take all the Gold Cloaks to Dragonstone in canon, or is this a new thing?

I'm really not sure where the belief that Caryon would be more loyal comes from. He seems to be the choice Westerling would approve of the most, with Mallister being who Otto approves of as a choice. Tarly has the institutional experience of training from being a marcher lord I believe? And of course Cole is the only one with battlefield experience.

Did they both beat us or...?

Also a shame Ser Desmond Caron was too sexist to ride with us, I liked his name the best tbh

we were never meant to win the fight we are half trained while all of them have been training for years and all of them rolled well so even if we wanted to win a fight against them looks like they beat us.
but looking at the dice kinda weird that 5d10 were thrown for will they fight? when there was only 4 fighters who could, and for the people that didn't want cole looks like we're getting Mallister instead, we're placating the Riverlands looks like.

The 2 was an accident to be clear, ignore it. Basically 5 or higher for someone to agree to fight with Rhaenyra. So Cole only narrowly agreed to it.

SO to clarify. First two dice are the candidate, second two dice are Rhaenyra. First guy refused to fight. The Tarly did the best. We nearly nat 20'd the Mallister.
Ok read the rolls completely wrong, wow we beat both Mallister and more importantly cole? or do they have hidden bonuses that will apply? and we got a tarly guard? heh the royal court is becoming full of reach nobility.

We didn't win. I do have some internal stats for Rhaenyra and others I don't share to avoid this becoming about stats. Though with the Mallister I think things are close enough that Rhaenyra effectively tied with him.
