Yeah in my mind a control freak is someone who doesn't just have control but exercises that constantly for everything they possibly can do so that's why they get control freak and not Superior or boss or just director, but control freak.

I think the Emperor wanted unquestioning obedience whenever he gave an order, however rare that was, not day to day control.

I think the Emperor wanted unquestioning obedience whenever he gave an order, however rare that was, not day to day control.
Yeah I don't doubt that but do you think the emperor gave a single fuck about how the order was accomplished other than it was accomplished. That in my mind is what separates someone from being a tyrant which is what you're describing and being a control freak he wants unquestioning obedience but he doesn't care how you achieve whatever order he gives you as long as you don't take too long and.... that's pretty much the only thing we ever see him care about as long as you don't take too long you can do whatever the fuck you want. Which might be incompetence, might be letting the people around you perform the tasks that you give them, might be any number of things but it doesn't really say control freak in my mind.

Turn 7: End
Colchis - 831.M30

You stand in the heart of the celebration, the air thick with the scent of roasting meat and the sound of joyous laughter. The victory over the Shard has brought an overwhelming sense of relief and jubilation. Fires crackle, casting dancing shadows over the gathered tribespeople, their faces lit with smiles and tears of joy. The night sky above is clear, stars twinkling brightly as if in celebration with you.

Amidst the revelry, you find a quieter corner near a large bonfire. Lorgar, Thalassa, and Dharok are with you, each of them wearing expressions of contemplation, a stark contrast to the merriment around you. The four of you have much to discuss, the weight of recent events pressing heavily on your minds.

Lorgar, tall and imposing with an aura of serene authority, speaks first.

"The resurrection of billions, it's... staggering," he says, his voice carrying a mix of awe and concern. "The implications are vast. People from different eras, different times, all brought back to life. It's a miracle, but one fraught with challenges."

Thalassa, her eyes reflecting the firelight, nods in agreement.

"It's not just the sheer number of people, but the eras they come from," she adds. "The recently deceased can perhaps be integrated more easily, but those from the Dark Age of Technology... their knowledge, their experiences, they come from a world vastly different from ours."

"And why does it stop at the post-Cybernetic revolt era? Why not earlier? There's something deliberate about this, something intentional." Dharok stated crosses his arms over his chest.

You lean forward, your eyes scanning the faces of your companions.

"It could be a safeguard," you suggest. "The Cybernetic Revolt was a cataclysmic event, a point of no return. Bringing back people from before that era might reintroduce technologies and ideologies that led to that downfall."

Lorgar nods thoughtfully. "Perhaps, but it still leaves us with an unprecedented situation. Billions of people, many of whom have knowledge and technologies lost to us, now walk among us. How do we even begin to manage this?"

Thalassa's expression softens with empathy. "We must approach this with care. These people have been given a second chance at life. We need to help them adapt, to understand the world they now find themselves in. It's not just about managing them, but also about learning from them."

Dharok uncrosses his arms, a thoughtful look replacing his usual skepticism.

"It could be an opportunity," he muses. "A chance to reclaim lost knowledge, to rebuild and improve upon what we have. But it requires careful oversight. We can't afford to let history repeat itself."

You nod in agreement. "Integration will be key. We need to create a council, perhaps, composed of individuals from different eras, to help bridge the gaps. And we need to ensure that the knowledge we gain is used responsibly, for the betterment of all."

Lorgar's eyes gleam with determination. "A council is a good start. We must also remember that these people, despite their origins, are now part of our present. We owe them the same respect and consideration as anyone else."

Thalassa smiles warmly. "Agreed. This is a time of great change, but also great potential. If we handle this wisely, we could usher in a new era of prosperity and understanding."

Dharok, though usually the most cynical among you, nods in agreement. "Then let's begin planning. This victory over the Shard is just the beginning. We have the chance to build something truly remarkable here."

There was a pause, then Lorgar spoke up.

"The ruined cities have been restored," he began, his voice resonating with a mix of pride and concern. "But they are filled with Mechanicus technology, not the post-Cybernetic Revolt technology that once thrived here."

Thalassa, her eyes reflecting the flickering firelight, nodded thoughtfully. "The Mechanicus technology is powerful and durable, but it lacks the elegance and the human touch of the post-Revolt technology."

"It won't be easy." Dharok said. "The Mechanicus are fiercely protective of their tech. The other Forge Worlds, Milhand aside, won't take kindly to us tampering with it."

You glanced at the restored cityscape in the distance, its skyline a mix of ancient ruins and new, gleaming structures.

"We have to try," you said, determination in your voice. "We have a Writ from the Archmagos."

"You're right. But the Mechanicus as a whole won't be easy to convince." Thalassa said as she placed a hand on your shoulder, her touch reassuring.

"And we'll need to keep the Mechanicum in check. They can't be allowed to dominate the narrative. This is our world, and they are our tools, not our masters." Dharok said as he uncrossed his arms and straightened up.

"We'll need to be united in this. We can't let division weaken us. The restoration of these cities is just the beginning. We have the chance to build something truly remarkable here, something that honors our past and secures our future." Lorgar nodded, his eyes filled with a deep, unwavering resolve.

"On that note. We have another pressing matter to discuss," Thalassa began, turning to Lorgar, you and Dharok. "While the restoration of the cities is a significant achievement, we need to address the state of our production facilities and infrastructure."

"Yes, basic production facilities and infrastructure are available. We have enough to sustain the population and even expand, but not much beyond that. We can't rely on what we have indefinitely. We need to think about long-term sustainability and growth." Lorgar leaned forward, his brow furrowed.

"Our current setup can support the essential needs, food, water, shelter, but it doesn't provide much room for innovation or development. We need to invest in more advanced facilities, research, and education if we want to build a truly prosperous society." Thalassa added.

"And that means resources. We need materials, manpower, and most importantly, knowledge. The Mechanicus technology gives us a foundation, but we need to build on it, adapt it, and make it our own." Dharok sighed.

"There's other matters too," you said. "Word of Lorgar's philosophy is spreading, and people are forming their own interpretations of it."

Lorgar's expression grew thoughtful. "I've noticed that. My speeches and teachings were meant to inspire unity and strength, but it seems that different groups are taking them in various directions."

"It's natural for people to interpret teachings in their own way, but we need to ensure that the core message isn't lost. If we let this get out of hand, we risk division and conflict." Thalassa nodded, her eyes narrowing in concern.

"We need to find a way to address this without stifling the enthusiasm and passion that Lorgar's words have ignited. We need to guide them, not control them." Dharok sighed.

The conversation then turned to the planet itself, a living entity brimming with potential and danger.

"The planet is awake, and its spirits are active," you began, your voice serious. "Its spirits automatically awaken all technology made on the planet and violently reject all those who would harm it."

"This could be both a blessing and a curse. The awakened technology could give us an edge, but if the spirits perceive a threat, they could turn against us or any allies we bring." Dharok's eyes narrowed.

"The core of the planet is an engine of creation," you added, your tone growing more intense. "It draws and purifies the warp to produce unlimited wealth. This is a resource of unimaginable potential, but harnessing it will require great effort and caution." You pause.

"Then there is the matter of the planetary orbit," you said. "It is littered with broken space stations and ships. If we are to meet the Emperor and the Imperium on anything approaching equal terms, we must restore these remnants and rebuild our spacefaring capabilities."

Dharok's voice was firm. "And finally, there are the Space Marines. One thousand demigods, each a sorcerer and shaman in their own right. The Codex Astartes by Corax has been useful in organizing and training them, but it is a basic guide. We need to build upon it, creating a doctrine that reflects our unique strengths and circumstances."

"One thousand sorcerer-shamans are a formidable force, but we must ensure that they are not just warriors but leaders and protectors of our people. Their training must encompass not only combat but also wisdom, spirituality, and governance." You agreed.

You all sat in contemplative silence for a moment, the enormity of the task ahead settling over you. The path was clear, but it would be fraught with challenges and hard decisions.

"We have the opportunity to create something truly remarkable here," you said finally. "But it will require all of our wisdom, strength, and unity. Together, we can build a future that can surpass all that came before it."

Lorgar, Thalassa, and Dharok all nodded in agreement, their expressions filled with determination and resolve. The victory over the Shard of Winters was just the beginning. Now, the real work would begin, and together, you would ensure that the promise of this new era was fulfilled.

Purchase of the Lore also unlocks mutations that the body of the demigod will not reject, though strictly speaking, these "mutation" are more inherent expression of their powers and cannot be turned off. They are always counted as three dot mutations and they will always be Angelic and Human, unless you fall to Chaos. You can purchase the Torment "Mutations" but they are considered 5 Dot mutations.

The Exception to the above is Lore of Humanity. It gives you NO Mutations and you cannot purchase any mutations from Lore of Humanity, but can purchase them if it also falls under another lore.

Ok, so, I'm going to advocate that we get Lorgar this:

Article:
Mind Partition
Rank 2 Glass Walker Gift

Camp: Random Interrupts

A favorite among Random Interrupts who discover they can't multitask nearly as well as their computers, this Gift allows the Garou to break their own mind into segments, quickly switching their concentration to a new task while never losing their place on the old task. One Cruncher described the Gift by saying, "It's not true multitasking, but it fakes it well." A Pattern Spider teaches this Gift.

System: The player spends one Willpower point and rolls Gnosis (difficulty 6). For every success gained, the player can add work on one extra extended action every turn, one added per turn. No penalties are incurred on any of the extended actions, but if just one botch is rolled, all uncompleted tasks fail.

Example: Backup-Circuit is working on a complicated hacking job involving three separate tasks, but needs to move quickly. He spends one Willpower point, activating Mind Partition and rolls Gnosis, gaining the needed two successes. On the first turn he begins his work on cracking the door systems, rolling his standard dice pool. On the second turn he continues to work on the door systems, but also begins work on cracking the security, and rolls for both tasks. On the third turn and every turn thereafter, he is working on cracking the door system, security system and defenses system simultaneously. Had he botched the roll, he'd have begun trying to crack the system but collapse, clutching his head seconds later as his brain breaks under the pressure.

For a precognitive telepath who needs to unify and lead a society, this should be very handy. He can have one mental thread continually looking at the shifting skein of future possibilities, another modifying his plans based on that, and all the others using the accelerated conversation telepathic communication power to coordinate with subordinates, instruct them on what to do, and receive feedback. All of these should be extended tasks, taking place over long periods, so Mind Partition should apply to them.

This is more important than anything else he can get in the short run. More combat power can wait.

I also think we should use VEE to get him Precognition 5 and Synergy 5. That way he can form a synergy network of a rotating cast of his space marines who can supply him with willpower to keep up this intense pace of psyker power usage, and he can use his Synergy link to make his telepathy global range.

I also think we should consider giving Dharok the six point version of this:

Article:
Drahma's Voice

(4-6 points) [Akashic Brotherhood Tradition Book: Revised - Social Merit]

Whether you're a child, a drunk or a monk, you speak with more wisdom than you possess. Perhaps you are a reincarnated sage, or you simply have an intuitive connection with the Absolute that expresses itself in your voice and actions.

In game terms, your character is a Mentor for Akashic mages (and, at the Storyteller's discretion, others who might understand her words,) despite the fact that she isn't particularly wise herself. The four-point version of this merit turns your character into a one-dot Mentor - you may add more dots at a cost of one point per dot. For six points, your character serves as a three-dot Mentor to other people, even if she lacks the usual knowledge to teach in such fashion. She can't benefit from this herself. She doesn't know why the other Sidai light up with sudden understanding when she tells them a joke or a bar story!

And have him teach the space marines.

Edit: actually; @Yzarc; can Lorgar's Aegis Armour grant him Mind Partition?

No. That is a step too far. I do not mind it modifying rolls that make sense but this does not have any logic to it.

I suppose, you can argue that his black Carapase is linking the Machine Spirit to him but I feel that is too much.

I thought it unlikely, so back to buying it with XP.

@Yzarc Just had an idea, since all our tech has spirits in it and spirits give a gift, can we make some kind of beacon that uses this Gift to talk to other such beacons? It is a level four gift, the thing would literally have to be a minor artifact, but you only need one per planet to replace an astropath it seems like a good buy especially for us who have no astropaths.

Currently thinking of, for Lorgar:

Mind Partition, for having multiple mental threads for extended tasks, as discussed above

The World is Mine Mythos power: we're setting up a world. We need to take over any
institutions that form from the memory of the Pre-Age of Strife government and influence any institutions we want to establish

Voice of the Primarch: I think the shock of rebirth will make it relatively easy to initially recruit the people of the planet. This will make it much easier to reassure them and get them to work together on a truly massive scale using mass media. They're probably deeply traumatised and confused because of the level of memory loss and dislocation they've suffered.

I think we should just give that gift to Thalassa. For now

Sorry, misread this.

Yes, but you would have to custom make a device for it to have this. Not artifact levels but T3 minimum. But on the flip side? You can mass produce it as the ritual is not a year long action and if you have enough Mechanicum Priests/Sorcerors with 3 dots in that path, you can do it.
Can a Planet with Worldsoul able to subsume other souless planet's over its system to expand its reach further? Ir we need Exalted sorcery to do so?
Not naturally. If it covers multiple planets, the Worldsoul weakens as it gets stretched over multiple planets and also starts changing per planet added as the life on those planets also start reflecting. Simply put? From what Fan knows, it is not a good idea.
Oh right, I forgot that was a different level with its own rite. But if we do that can this replace astropaths?
Yes, this does work and you can replace astropaths.

No I mean if it is origin system of Worldsoul? Will it weaken worldsoul even that case? Particularly if its population settle in those planets to impose its authority?

So no SystemSouls incorporating an entire star system then.

I am thinking more of a solar system acting as composite being with worldsoul acting as brain while other planet's as its organs. So that whole distemper can magnify worldsouls attributes as a whole new level.

Yes. It can only populate inhabited worlds as that is what a Worldsoul is. The Reflection of the life AND elements on that planet.
So no SystemSouls incorporating an entire star system then.
Nope. This is a good way to give it Multiple Personality disorder and greatly weaken it to the point that it starts to fade and shatter. Bad idea all around.

@Yzarc If a population of a worldsoul settle in other planet and awaken its soul how that effect newborn planet? Will there be any connection between two or any other effects?

@Yzarc If a population of a worldsoul settle in other planet and awaken its soul how that effect newborn planet? Will there be any connection between two or any other effects?
It will not. Again the Worldsoul is the reflection of ALL life AND Environments on a planet.

Even otherwise, even if you clone a Planet perfectly, all it will result in is a Twin and Twins in RL are not the same people no matter how similar they look.
Does Fan think Sun Sprits are possible or outlandish?
There are Star Souls. All things in the Materium are reflected in the Warp. But they are not alive like Worldsouls are. Because life never existed there so it is fundamentally alien.

Edit: So, the reasons for my plan:

Lorgar has a traumatised population to counsel and turn into a functioning state and economy. That is probably very hard, and will require that he pushes his powers to the limit and that he does many, many things at once, things represent by extended rolls.

Even though he's very good socially, he still needs to get as many successes as possible, and I think that a DC reduction makes more difference than avoiding 1s.

The World is Mine then reinforces that, allowing him to do exactly what to do to influence organisations to be exceptionally productive and motivated, and then Mind Partition and Voice of the Primarch means he can succeed at doing so to many of them at once.

Someone needs to lead and inspire the space marines, as we were also warned that it would take time for their identities to firm up. Drahma's Voice is ideal for him, as he can just do it without trying while training them in other things like psyker powers. Or down the like psyker powers and sorcery.

For Thalassa, Lore of Flesh as soon as possible, banking xp to get it asap.

For Fan, I want the Shintai, and then to try to rush towards the best Adorjan charms next turn.
