The Cassiopeia is a ship co-designed by three Faith Orders to allow them access to worlds in need of succor. Three times has the Federation brought new worlds into the fold, and three times has its infrastructure been strained to the breaking point by the act. The Cassiopeia is designed from the keel out to facilitate spreading the light, comfort and support of the Star Child to new worlds. It should represent a great boon to bringing new worlds into the fold both by integration and colonization.

As a result, the Cassiopeia is a ship built on compromise. The orders behind it were adamant it must be a destroyer-sized hull, to increase the number that could be produced and decrease the strain on the Federation to do so. But packing all of the desired functionality into a destroyer-sized hull was quite a challenge, even if it is one of the largest destroyer hulls ever produced by the Glimmering Federation. But those compromises mean it lacks both the speed and protection common to military vessels.

But the Cassiopeia is not designed as a military ship. It has the equipment to put on a surprising burst of temporary speed if necessary, but it is not designed to see combat, or even be in the same system as hostile combatants. The hangers are present to help ferry supplies, missionaries and medical care to the surface. They are certainly capable of providing bombing runs for planetary conflicts, but it is not their primary role. The Thule's assigned to the Cassiopeia are the ones without a fervor for intensive void combat.

For the true purpose of the Cassiopeia is to spread the light of the Star Child through charity, healing, and sermon.

Other question:
We can totally fit Hymns of the Machines into a fast, sneaky destroyer and stop having to build light-cruiser andromedas for logistics support. Is there any reason not to just design a much, much cheaper andromeda replacement that basically only has that? We could built literally four times as many for the same investment.

They're known for betraying the Imperium. And who can blame them? Look what happened when we didn't betray the Mechanicum on Qulach's Forge.
My dear, the Eldar are not good guys. on the contrary they are huge assholes, who if to save a few soul stones would willingly sacrifice billions of lives just for that. they with their seers look for all the paths in which they can benefit and disadvantage any other race or they favor those few only if it benefits their race.

I have been advocating for Placing Hymms in frigates since we first got the Hymm, If I remember right Alectais reasoning was due to the rarity of Choirs, and given how every Hymm requires a choir, It was better to Protect that Strategic reasource (Choirs) Behind a cruiser worth of armouring instead of the more economical and easier to mass produce Small guidance ship.

I think that the Andromeda is a gret platform, WHEN we are going on offensives, Because when we are divingstraight into the teeth of the enemy defenses, It makes it harder to kill the choir and cause damage, ButI have always maintained that a smaller, efficiant hull would be require for when we aren't sending the fleet into the jaws of the enemy.

If i had a cookie for every time herocooky made a quest that is esentially

"You play the taliban but they are actually the good guys....also eldritch horrors"

I would have 2 cookies

*crossing fingers* Don't let anything blow up, don't let anything blow up.

Seriously though, what is going to blow up? The only thing I can think of is what's up with 621 and the Mashan Temple Authority, with either them finding out we're human and getting pissed or Chaos attacking Valdeheim. The Ashan are blocking off Macabre, and Irridanus is abandoned.

Speaking of, it might be nice to pry some actions free to spread into Irridanus. Clay is clay, and makes our AP accomplish more.

But the thing is, they're capped off with the amount of Choirs we have available, so we can't really pump them out. While Frigates would be cheaper, I would like the Andromedas to contribute more to the fights instead of just running away.

As the saying goes, the Eldar would sacrifice a billion humans to kill one Aeldari and the Imperium would sacrifice a billion humans to kill one Aeldari.

Both would consider this a fair trade, and could you blame the Eldar for thinking such when the average Imperial would kill themselves would kill themselves for the chance to kill them and their entire family too and death for them means they suffer unspeakable agony for eternity at the hands of Slaanesh? And the vast majority of humans are Imperials?

But yes, there are a lot of asshole Eldar, but there are some that are pretty cool like Craftworld Iyanden (and b/c of that, they're also the ones who got fucked over and 4/5ths of the population eaten by Tyranids) and I think Saim-Hann

Once we get our all-5's down we should do some research (either autobuild, ship standardization, or new bombers) and see about upgrading/making a few more Andromeda. Perhaps even colonizing a few of the empty planets still in our sphere of influence. Then making more ships for the inevitable push into 621 to relieve and link up with the Mashan, or at least take some of the pressure off of them.

I agree, Psykana and Research should be our Major Priorities for the immediate future after we get the All-V, outside of preparing for the inevitable storm.
