I like to set things up for the long term, even if it's somewhat slower and less beneficial in the short term.
With this, we would not need to set up different rituals for different places along the river; all new settlements would already know what to do for the rituals.
We could maybe even start peparing the grounds for new settelments early as all would be connected by one spirit who could already make the areas around the river "tame" and more hospitable for anything we want to build there.
If bigger spirits really do care "less" about how humans act, we likely will also have an easier time adapting as our area of influence grows.
While we don't really need a lot of trade right now because of Cai funding, that funding is still limited, and if we really want to grow, we need trade.
I mean, that was even one of the things at the summit.
We are the closest town to the border. If we play our cards right, then a lot of the trade between the Empire and the Polar nation would go through Snowblossom, so the easier trade on the river is a really big benefit.
