You know, Neon falling to Chaos was a long time coming.

Like, they were kind of fucked the moment they greenlit the "Clone the fuck out of the astropaths and hope enough don't come out utterly fucked by the warp".

Though it's kind of funny how resistant/immune we are to low-tier Chaos that it kind of backfired when we see the low-tier chaos stuff and don't immediately panic. Bros looked at the carpet skins everywhere and went "Gee the Neonites are sure getting nutty over here".

Given that we may need to deal with rising Chaos cults within Neon we may need to do some Faith actions sooner rather than later, especially the Cathedral action, better we amp up our own Faith before Chaos starts popping up more frequently.

Cathedral would be good to pop up soon, yeah. That being said, our Faith is highly developed at this point, so I don't think it'll instantly collapse. Chaos doesn't actually have grand Sorcerers and whatnot actively forcing Corruption checks on the very landscape here, it's the low level shit so far, which we can thoroughly check the growth of.

I have to wonder what happened to the Sisters that were apparently here long ago. They were hinted to be involved with how they're cloning semi working Astropaths despite their bullshit relying on soul linkage to Emps but that's still super suspicious to me. Especially since iirc the Astropath remains we got to scan/look over recorded as having 0% in common with the human genome which says to me the Astropaths are either practically Chaos spawn or were aliens from the start. So either the Sisters were Chaos agents from the start or were quickly killed by the real heretics.

here's my Attempt at designing a Hospital Ship and a Forge Ship, note these are under-armed for what they do, they are meant for *support* deployments with our ground forces or fleet deployments for after the battle...

[] [Heavy Cruiser] Five-Fold Mercy
-[] Sketch (Purely Optional)
-[] Length
- 4.600
-[] Width - 600
-[] Acceleration - 1
-[] Armor - Medium Tripple Hull
-[] Shields - Two Matrixes
-[] Weapons - Heavy Hangars - [Mixed] x2
-[] Equipment - Advanced Alloying, Armored lifepods, Internal Security Systems, Superior Gravimetrix Engine Calculations, chapels to the five, Medical Deployment Division, Orders of the guiding Hands, icons of Faith

The idea of this ship is for it to deploy in the back-lines, its not meant for war but to bring peace and healing. issue is this is warhammer and i took that into some account here...yes this is NOT going on the front-line but rather keep the skies clear for our Medical teams to deploy with full void/air support, and it *Has* some teeth to it...sure its not going to win any conflict on its own or be a deciding factor, but it sure as hell SHOULD NOT be on the front line but rather second to third wave to keep space and as mop-up operations.

Yeah, i went with a Forge ship, mostly as a way to supply ongoing campagins...i dont expect them in great numbers (around possible 2-3 per planet i think?) would make fleet emergency repairs as well as ongoing patrols more tolerable, especially when paired with hospital ships...however this also takes slots from an adormeda class vessel, and this is first time baby heavy cruiser sized vessels doing this. at least with the hanger and the light rotary cannons, they can keep pirates and other nasties at some bay and form some form of defense, but i wouldnt send them out alone on patrols or even near combat when things get rough.

however as support vessels, they should excel in terms of getting their specific roles done.

We can potentially revisit these vessels again once we cut our teeth on making them, and thus lower some of the DP on the red marks to get better things on board, or if we do some stuff with integrating armored lifepods and other equipment on our ships so we can lower more DP costs. As it is, im just hoping we can figure out more DP things eventually so we can really go all in once things get rolling.

-[X] Leave anything over Medium Damage behind, add the Dauntless and the two Falchions to the table. Try to keep them out of danger if we can, but don't be afraid to ante them up to save lives.

-[X] Replace anything with Medium or greater damage with the captured Imperial ships, starting from the Dauntless and working down, ideally, it won't come to a proper fight, but having a few extra guns and torpedoes wouldn't hurt

Keep in mind that everything that's Light Cruiser or above needs at least 1 Hanger as per our doctrine

Also, do you really think the Hospital ship needs to be a Heavy Cruiser? I would prefer we make it a light cruiser so we're much more able to make them.

i see, frogot about that tibit, i can change it so it has a light hanger or something. Issue is light cruisers dont have the size/space nor the DP for the stuff i wanted to put into them.

Honestly, I kinda wanted to vote to lick our wounds for a turn considering how damaged our fleet is, but the increasing signs of Chaos and rebellion is making my hand reach for the heavy flamer. Neon is fragile right now and will probably shatter -if not this turn- then definitely the turn after, so we gotta keep up the momentum to keep the most we can out of Chaos' grubby hands.

I still halfway feel that the main fleet is going to get hammered by a Sudden Reserve Force exploding out on them from out of nowhere once they're depleted, and it'll proceed to faceroll the rest of Neon's heartlands and possibly Gathin.

In that sense, it might actually be beneficial to us to force Neon to withdraw... The problem is that we just do not have the ships in strong enough repair to hit two targets right now. Even one is going to be a bit chancy, two is uncomfortably likely to force us to actually take significant--if acceptable--losses. Our fleet is uncomfortably beat up right now, and while I have high confidence of popping a single "Weaker than your fleet" block, I wouldn't want to chance two.

Hey @Alectai . Pertaining to my proposed design, is there any mechanical differences between putting missiles on turrets vs batteries, seeing as they're self aiming after firing?

Edit: whoops fucked up the link. Fixed.

Oh yeah, we need two people who haven't done a Rating on the Map page to rate it with the number 7 before we lose that option, because I want this perfect count to live.

So, if Neon comes apart at the seams. How hard to we fight for the forge-world?

It's a forge world. We want it real bad, because it'll probably increase our shipbuilding capability by a step all on its own. Honestly, that might be the main objective of the next operation - get that forge world! And we'll have the Leo to do it with.

We also don't want Chaos to have it - our society started with the Dark Mechanicum, we don't want to give them a gift.
