Every time I look at the ever-expanding tree of knowledge and its fruits growing higher and higher out of reach, I (lightly, partially) regret not taking the Binary Screeching and it's auto-research effect.
3 actions are the bedrock constraint for us, only occasionally and temporarily broken. Anything that gives us actions, even if only a semi-random action, is like a miracle from the Star Child.
Technically as long as we spend at least 5 actions on research every 10 turns we come out ahead with the option we picked, even excluding the chance of Hereteks joining our cause.

That being said, "Agelessness" is easy in 40K, Deathlessness is hard. Of course, this is relatively speaking, we have access to the Good Shit. I imagine the "QoL" benefit in Medical will be having at least enough Juvenat around to make sure the average lifespan is over 100 or so."
Are you serious? You held a wargame and had one unit of Ogryns successfully hold a fortress against massive assaults to the point their own commanding officers were under the impression either the Ogryns or their minders were cheating or something had gone wrong, only for the After-Action Report to state that they held the fort because one sharpuktu plushy got "injured" and none of the Ogryns would retreat because they were afraid of worsening the injury.
You tell them to use their plushies as weapons and you'd get the same response as a three-year-old who got their favorite toy ripped from their hands.
Against bog-standard Guard? They'd likely win.
Against specialists/elites? Reasonably well, but the result would be up to the dice.

And they are all interconnected, look at the map. You should be able to conquer them through those connections unless the pirates detach/detonate them, forcing you to make another space assault.

This plan works and nice to see we're on average better equipped them the imperial guard. Only reason I feel we wouldn't fair well against the elite elite of the guard is more because of experience then equipment. After all our army has very little experience in warfare and that will take time to gain as well.
Next turn barring some fires I think designing Taurus and Crux upgrades would be a viable idea. Then we can convert the old ones the turn after for a big upgrade.
Though this does make me wonder if we're going to run into soft cap on DP since If we keep upgrading than eventually even our
Destroyers will have more DP than an Imperial light Cruiser while being mechanically easier to spam.
This isn't an issue IC since things like Necron Cruisers able to fight off entire battlefleets of battleships exist but it does bring up the question of how do we pay for it . Cause if DP represents a construction cost even if only partially than theoretically higher DP ships should be harder to make in large numbers compared to inferior DP ships of the same class. Like we made our scouts intentionally gimped DP wise cause that made them 'cheaper' but iirc we still produce the same amount of scouts with a single action as other ships of the same weight class so where does that 'cheaper' benefit factor in?

I think we already have, when we designed the Andromeda and the Libra-S it didn't increase our DP cap. We probably already hit that limit and now we have to do research or increase infrastructure to get more DP.

Bad. Around 70% as effective, with a lot more divergence in designs, like linking the pilots/crew together into a noosphere within the craft for better cohesion and performance.
That's a clash of Lore vs Mechanics. Generally, your government wants the scouts to be minimum-viable to get raw numbers of non-combat ships, while your actual combat ships are the Big Ticket Items they are willing to pay the money/resources for.
