Plus those things can get stuck easily, like Serfs literally have to come out with oil, rope, and some cranes for when a Terminator Marine gets stuck somewhere because they're so fucking heavy. Like they go up some stairs and the stairs break because they weren't made to accommodate Terminator armor and now you got a guy stuck in someone's ruined staircase.
And fun fact, they won't save you from a pissed off Bobby G, who can one shot even Chaos Terminator Marines with just one punch.
My man, Nothing can save you from a pissed of Bobby G. The man dresses up as a statesmen but at the end of the day, If he gets well and truly pissed,he's as much of a berserker as angron and once he get pissed the man starts swinging.
Yah ever here about the time Bobby G got spaced? Bunch of word bearers got cleaver and spaced bobby G. As they were celebrating, Bobby G proceeds to Doom Guy his way back, Punching THROUGH The outer hull of the Ship to get these assholes. The outer hull made of adamantium, and designed to withstand Naval Grade Ordinance. And He proceeded to punch his way back into the ship, powered by rage.
Nothing save's you from Pissed off Bobby G's fists, But if your wearing Terminator plate, they might find some solid pieces of you left over instead of an Atomized red mist.

We also need to restore Civ Infrastructure and Food and etc to 5, but yeah, after that and getting VI to 10, we should probably start the climb towards 10 for all the rest... but that's a LONG way away.
now now, Lets be fair, The mark X is the culmination of 10,000 years of research by Belisarius Cawl, Not Mars... If it was 10,000 years of research by mars, the result would have been much less impressive

Do keep in mind, it's not "10,000 Years of Research by the entirety of Mars"
It's "10,000 Years as a side gig by one dude, based on a design that was already largely perfected as something he did on the side in the face of his Main Job, which was to somehow improve on the base Astartes formula." The Mark VIII was functionally optimal for Astartes use, in that it had no obvious vulnerabilities and excellent performance with no compromises in mobility.
The Mark X's main expansion on that is being modular, in that the same base chassis can be easily adjusted for a given Astartes' role or intended mission. You don't need a separate suit if you want to be a sneeki beeki, or if you want to get in the vanguard and hit things with sword.
Functionally, Astartes Power Armor reached peak performance with the Mark IV, which was just pre-Heresy, but had plenty of obvious vulnerabilities, like exposed power transfer cables (Even if armored). Mark VII partially closed the vulnerabilities that Mark IV had while improving protection (While Mark V and VI were "Kitbashed designs for use for Anti-Astartes combat on low logistics and specialist skirmisher variations respectively"), and Mark VIII reached peak optimization in that it maximized protection without compromises elsewhere, aside from being a bit more tricky to mass produce.

I do hope there's ways to optimize our Infrastructure building that isn't just "Get to Civ Infrastructure 10 and take the corporations perk even in the face of all the other shit that is also good".

And we do have a decent number of them in vastly superior gear, yes--but not a lot of experience fighting other experts.
Then again, the Astral Claws aren't exactly Veterans of the Long War either, so who knows.

And then when meeting their leaders you meet your bro who was uber-dead for the last 10k years.

Also he has created what's effectively a biomechanical and psytek copy of himself in Cawl Inferior. Ostensibly a back up of Cawl's sum total of knowledge it emulates Cawl's voice and mannerism to an uncanny degree and supposedly only has pre-programmed responses. But Guiliman suspects that Cawl Inferiior is outright an Abominable Intelligence, which if true means that Cawl created a artificial copy of his mind and make it an AI.

It is literally illegal for a Mechanicus Member to try and figure out how to reverse-engineer a simple laspistol. You know, the thing that made your Mechanicum people go mad and literally DDos-ing Teeln, Prophet of the Star Child, with funding requests?
