Okay, thank you for clearing all of this up @HeroCooky . Gimmie a sec.

We'll be in the thick of it next turn, but this should put us in the best stead possible to seize victory. Trade 2 Lupus class with our flotilla to get the Kil'drabi Battlecruisers in the initial push, and we'll have almost Five Emperor-class Battleships worth of insane lunatic tier fighters backing 2 SAGs each with state of the art armaments ready to go, and two surprisingly chonky brawlers to work with the rest of our fleet for best effect. Those state of the art armaments are likely also going to give us an edge in seizing an FOB in Brotar by a boarding assault.

The point here is to line things up so we can punch them hard in the nose, and then keep punching until we hit a hard target. We'll be able to field a 22 ship flotilla with probably comparable mobility on the Subsector scale, that should far exceed anything they'll have in place anytime soon, and we can design the Super Taurus next turn in preparation for any further campaigns.

They should have absolutely no awareness of how insanely dangerous the Super Libras are, and if we're primed to push hard, we're liable to do enormous damage before they can get their shit together enough to retaliate. Maybe even enough to make them sue for peace if we're fast enough.

MI 3 should be sufficient to meet our immediate needs. The point is forcing the frontline out of our doorstep, especially since they won't be quite as nuke-happy with their own territory.

What's the weapons and armor for?

Winning ground engagements, which we'll need to because we have to be better here. They're strong in space, but newly established PDFs should be absolute garbage-tier. And I doubt they have much in the way of IG-level regulars here because those are all busy on a front that they were expecting to fight on.

Effectively, I'm proposing a smashdown, all-in raiding force. Push as hard into enemy territory as we can, recover any willing civilians we can, and loot everything that isn't nailed down before they can get their shit together, and then fade back in to what we can hang onto. Their strength will become our own. Their VI per system is probably poor even if they've built a lot of small monitors, that makes them easy meat for our Libras, we can likely get quite a lot done before supplies are depleted.

Should we build a blazing sun warpack? They count as a single unit, not a SAG?

...I could also work with this. Tho I would suggest instead of leaving Lupus destroyers behind, we exchange the Taurus' for the Battlecolonies and have our troopships come in a second wave well after our warships secure the orbital. Assuming the Taurus' load up and leave for Botar at the same time as our fleet, they should arrive a few months later, which is more than enough time for the space battles to be over but not give Neon much of a chance to launch a counterattack before we secure their fresh colony and start fortifying.

We have one, they still require a slot, but I'm sure we can squeeze the Blazing Sun in somewhere given how much spacelift we'll be rolling in with. One unit when we have eight is probably just a matter of shuffling the numbers around.

But even with this, yeah, we don't have the spacelift for a full out long term invasion. This is mostly trying to punch them in the nose and drag them down as hard as we can before they can get a bead on our true threat level, and put them in a position where they'll be a long ways out from retaliating anytime soon.

But that means we need ways to overcome that fucking 3d6 drop lowest barrier. And that means we need to compensate for our lack of Inherent Robustness with sheer fucking quality.

Any purpose in building scout ships? We have 4 currently, would bumping that up to 10 help scout out the neons planet or would the sensors we build in Itani be enough?

1x "Lover's Dance" Light Lance Turret (Black/White Thermal-Neutral Dual-Shot Lance)
so um our Aries have a thermal-neutral weapon, we launch a sneak attack that are invariable on any thermal sensers? black matches with the void of space, so half our attack can be seen?

or did the Neons already encountered our Aries and know what's coming?

If we're doing research, wouldn't it make sense to go for better bombers or maybe fighters?

We need more help in space than on the ground, and this war will be won or lost in space.

It's thermal-neutral in the sense that "It doesn't actually build up waste heat because it just shoots the waste heat as another lance weapon." Which is the main limitation on a Lance Weapon's Rate of Fire. So not only is it a paired weapon, but it can basically shoot as fast as energy can be supplied without needing to slow down because of overheating.

No, this makes no sense. It Just Works.
