Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

[X] Want
A blade extends in a straight line. It is narrow, it is not wide. It is long, and it follows a single path without meandering to either side.
It's high time for LQ to pull through with that conclusion, and refine FFS into the cold blade that she uses to impart End to her enemies.
Your post is confusing. You talk about wanting FFS to be more focused, which I agree with, but your vote is for the Spring portion, the Cycles.

[X] Want

It is the weapon that cuts the infinite realities and slays gods, a life without want isn't a life at all.

Immediate thought: Seven-Branched Sword - Wikipedia

Aspire to be greater! Do you want to be those normal, boring smiths that have one blade going in a straight line, or do you want to go down in history because you decided to add an extra sword's sword-worth of sword to your sword that does non-normal sword things and had other people look at it and go, "yeah, that looks legendary, let's add an inscription about how weird this sword is"?

Well, that's because I would like for LQ's understanding of Cycles to advance in the direction of giving Winter's killing role its due importance.
Right now, it feels like LQ is glossing over it, almost skipping it to rush into the spring rebirth part of the cycle. Because that's the good part that makes Winter's suffering worth it.
While it's good to see the beauty and good that Winter can bring, LQ shouldn't forget, especially not with her experience, that the hunger, cold and death are also part of that cycle.
That aspect should definitely be engraved in her winter song.

Cycles seems like it opposes endings, because anything that ends as part of a cycle comes back.

So the further we lean into cycles the less we can make anything stay dead.

This update said it best. What comes after doesn't change the fundamental truth of the now. That's why I'm voting for Want instead of Cycles.

Want IV (6/8): Her Want was to reach out, to grasp and hold and keep, Community and Home. Want is the purest expression of life, of choice, of will. To lack want is death by another name

Why are so many people seemingly convinced that Want is going to make the Art more murder-y and better at killing? Because her Want is explicitly about living, both in the sense of surviving and of thriving. Sure, you can say it's like her use of Loneliness and that she's using the bad part as a weapon, except Cycles also has equally valid applications for killing. In fact, her understanding of Want and Cycles are on very similar tracks; they're different faces of the same fundamental ideas.

This argument just popped up somewhere and it's being taken as fact, and that's very strange.

It's more that people believe cycles will dilute it. If 'things come around again' is a fundamental truth, then no fight is ever truely won or lost. Cycles promises endless variations on a single status quo.

But yeah, at it's core Want seems like it is defensive: this is the reason why she is (keeping herself) alive.

Are you saying Want being defensive (not sure if I agree with that) is a reason to vote for it or no?

@yrsillar can we get some clarification regarding if the vote here affects the options for the art?

Because either it does, so this is also important in that regard.
Or it doesn't and we are muddling the vote.

Thank you for your reply in advice.

In case it doesn't, I apologize for bringing it up in my vote.
