Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

"A Well," you can hear the capitalization in Usum's voice, that is not a good sign. He goes about confirming it with his next words. "Sometimes by nature, sometimes by meddling of powers mortal or immortal the Spirit World does not open upon the gentle slopes of Faerie, but falls straight down into some deeper more conceptual domain, a Well. Whatever power or principality dwells on the other side might have different rules to those you might expect and so the line between them changes shape. So it is in Murgo and atop Mount Osore where mortals saught the way down into the underworld and often to their ruin found it."
See; this place does have interesting real estate opportunities. :V

That's either full of snacks, prime clubhouse materials, or new friends. Potentially a mix of all three.

Who are we kidding. This is an unannounced Buffy cross and Harvard is smack on top of a hellmouth. I expect plucky cheerleaders with implausible medieval weapons any moment now.

I await our musical episode where DragonParadox is forced to write everything in rhyme.

Those go in the friend box with a complementary laser gun.
But as an actual demon planet in skinny jeans I figure we can show up and do this:

But with more breaking down the door if we don't like them. :V

In all seriousness just charging in is probably dangerous, because it's someone else's place of power, but Molly has enough juice that she is a bad encounter roll for others as much or more than they are for her.

We're playing a demon planet; to scale poking the local dimensional rift is basically like a grade schooler playing in a creek they found in the local woods.

I'm hoping for a pet frog*, but I'll take fish to eat for dinner tonight if we have to.

*"Can we keep it?" A comically small Molly asks Charity, as she excitedly swings around a bucket with an extradimensional horror frantically pretending to be a toad trapped inside.

[X] Try to pass to the other side

Seems like a bad idea by common sense, but we are an Exalted and we need to bite the plot hock.

The funniest moments to cross over into buffyverse would be either fourth season, with Molly coming to repossess some stolen / looted FCFF tech used to make Adam (and deriding the shoddy construction practices), fifth season, to see Glory's reaction, or seventh season, to see the look on First Evil's face, as Molly is someone, possibly the only someone, who can actually kill it.

With BMI, we can actually do it. Shapeshifting is a thing we are good at now.

I mean, Maelfeas was CONSTANTLY full of music, song, and dance. Partiality to ward of the silent wind, but also because the big guy loves to grove as much as he hates everything else. A 'This is now a musical' charm is hilariously appropriate.
We can invent charms right? Can we invent this charm? Can we actually force Dragonparadox to write in rhyme?

It's totally an anti-"breach of the masquerade" charm. It doesn't matter what happens in public after we use it. Nobody will believe it happened when everyone is singing and dancing. There is no possible way people will believe it's not fake.

[X] Ask a question of your Crown
-[X] What environment and beings can be found in the part of NeverNever that is coterminous with Harvard's location on Earth.

So, I am guessing we shouldn't just use the crown on the local environment in case there's something that can notice it on the other side. I had an idea of looking for a local who might know...

[X] Visit a local graveyard, looking for oldest graves, to see if local dead know something about what's on the other side
-[X] Lydia leads, you support her with etiquette or empathy excellency
-[X] If they know nothing, seek out local fey

Since when can anything notice us using the Crown? Am I forgetting something?

I believe that we were cautious of using it in Titania's direct presence. I too, don't think it very likely, that it can be noticed or traced back to us.
The few cases where DP warned us were always in the direct presence of greater powers and mostly for using the question directly on these powers.

Here, using the Crown in the middle of the night with no obvious bystanders, we should be very safe.

I am under the impression it was "I may be noticed" because the Queens are social monsters who have the capability of cold reading that we just pulled information out of the ether by our reactions, not that they could trace back the use of our power.

"I shouldn't use XYZ ability in front of ABC because ABC may notice we did something and I don't want to reveal it." rather than "ABC can detect XYZ"

Malfean coordination.

Ha! Now EVERYONE moves in synch!

And everyone HATES IT! At last, everyone united... AGAINST ME!
Would be funnier as "blessing" on people you hate. They get a bonus to whatever they're doing, but only while they they're singing or dancing in the presence of others.

That seems like the kind of thing that would be really hard to remove, because it's not technically making them do anything or causing real harm. Anything that deals with curses specifically should have issues targeting malicious blessings.

… honestly all of our organizational charms should probably be like that since it basically echoes the great curse. Like an effect that makes everyone in an organization better at manipulation as long as it's for their personal benefit above everything else.

DP has been deliberately vague about if they can, but at least indicated that they're the people who could legitimately notice if we use it in front of them.

The Crown probably isn't subtle at all what with it burning God power for a brief burst of omniscience. In the heart of her power Titania might've been able to feel that go off right in front of her. In the very least she may have gotten a roll for it.

So how would we be crossing to the other side? We'd have to use the portal charm right? That cost 4motes of essence IIRC which means we'd have 9 left after and need another 4 to get back.

It seems like it is pretty subtle as long as we aren't aiming it right at a greater power while in arm's reach of them. We've used it on Nemesis plenty and it hasn't given any sign of knowing what's up.

Lydia has a cheaper option for it. If we want to blow through whatever defenses are present then CCG would make sense, but I don't know if we really want to show that card just to mess with some spirits.

Can Lydia open a way to the NeverNever herself? I can't recall if she did so during the Akuma fight or not.
