I'm reluctant to cut down on Length and Width this time. An Attack Ship that does what we need isn't going to be able to zoom and boom very well, especially with Prow Lances as its primary damage-dealing armament. We don't have the DP budget to harden them against calamity, so it's best to raise the amount of beating they can take before destruction is on the table. It should still have good Acceleration though simply because it should be able to run the fuck away from anything it can't shoot up, and 6gs seems to be the sweet spot.

Hmm do we have to be worried for more Orks entering Ubraka from Itani? Cause I'm worried that sending all our ships out to Neumidia will open up Ubraka into being easily attacked if random Orks enter the system.

Unclear, we sort of rolled them really fast and they didn't get a chance to catch up. As long as we apply pressure on this end of the chain, chances are good they'll keep hitting us. Orks can be cunning, but they want a good fight more than they want to Win. As long as the Fight's happening on a certain route and in a certain place, it's likely they'll keep reinforcing that spot over time instead of sneaking around.

It's a long shot though, which is why I feel we really need to push the Ork front to Itani in the long run to reduce our contact surfaces with them down to one, our position remains very perilous until then.

EDIT: Fingers crossed that we get a new DP out of this though, it'll be really handy to get the Aries Type-2s rolled out before we start pushing forward. We can make them a lot scarier with 3 more DP.

We got a new pilot enhancing equipment, so why not give a carrier a try? Still tossing in a lance turret to give it some defense. Named after the collective noun/term of venery for eagles (a convocation of eagles).

A missile boat, because we have yet to give it a try and it sounds neat. And we haven't really tried batteries yet.

For siege I don't think we should do life pods. Better pilots officers and speed with heavy weapons. The idea being to blitzkrieg then switch to reload the heavies while someone else takes a turn.
At least till we got enough DP to add heaviest armor and shields to slug it out anyway.

[] [Frigate] Plan shielded lancer ship

A dedicated sniper, with one of the manoeuvring related enhancements to help bring the prow lances to bear.
It has a stronger shields so it can take some counter battery fire and goes 1 DP over budget to see what that does.

I mean they are Orks and we are getting new ships there to blow them up, so it is expected that they will go where the chance to get the best battle of their lives is, like this is the only consistent thing about Orks, they will go where the biggest and largest battles are at the moment, it is 101 Imperial tactics because it work very well.

[] Sagittarius-Class Attack Ship

I'm perfectly happy with this design. It should do the job we need it to today and is flexible enough to serve us long-term as a light artillery ship.

Yeah, I imagine this'll transition into something like the Firestorm doctrinally as our Void Navy matures, A fiesty little lancer that can threaten even bigger ships.

I'm not too sure, this ship seems to be geared to be our backline ship, something to snipe at enemies while our guys. Plus I feel attached to having double prow Lances

Enemy gets a say too, and I'm not keen on impairing the defenses of something we already can't afford to risk losing.

Length and width determines how much of a beating a ship can take before it's critically damaged. They collectively determine the ship's HP in other words. I'd prefer if it had a decent pool of it.

Moratorium's over, posting the plan

RATIONALE: Not a brawler, though quick enough to stay out of trouble. Not a tank, though sturdy enough to take a few hits without too much danger, the Sagittarius-class Attack Ship is built for one purpose. Siege. Built around a powerful spinal lance weapon, supplemented with numerous vertical-launching missile silos dotting the dorsal surface, the Sagittarius-class sacrifices the same ultra-redundant protection measures of its cousin craft to maximize its offensive power and striking range--capable of extreme range shield ablation at a safe distance, followed by powerful surgical lance strikes to degrade fortifications and heavier, slower ships. While capable of a degree of close in combat thanks to its plentiful missile weapons while munitions last, the Sagittarius in its current iteration is poorly suited for a fistfight, and should be deployed with a significant escort to keep it out of trouble. Fortunately, despite its firepower, it retains a respectable degree of acceleration, and can ideally deny battle against any foe out of its weight class, while weathering counter-battery fire from its expected opponents.

Here's my design, we focus on pure power at the expense of some speed. While I would like to be not so vulnerable, the truth is if we want to make something that can actually fight worth a damn, we need to make some sacrifices instead of going for the "safe" option design wise.

But the thing is, this is meant to be a fortress breaker, and I doubt a single light prow Lance will cut it. We already say that we're hindered due to how few DP we have in comparison, so if we want to actually have our ships be worth much we'll need to make compromises, and when we're making a glorified siege weapon, power is most important. And I just don't think a single prow Lance has what it takes to really do good at the role.

This is a good expansion of our naval abilities. Anyways, if that Ork Rok we wanna crack open doesn't have sufficient maneuvering thrusters, we can have our Aries chip in on the bombardment with their Macro-Cannons to wear it down faster anyway. Hell, our Taurus could as well with its Ortilery Guns-if the bitch can't move, it doesn't matter if they can see the shells coming two hours before they impact.

hoping one day we can add more weapons and capabilities to our ships...it would be nice to one day max out the basic 5 stuff with room for brawler, gun, carrier, missile-boat, or Sniper boat.

still, lets see where this goes...at least we got rid of the massive cathedrals and such, so our ships are not exactly a massive target each, that and it should reduce allot of the build-time in comparison to the imperium.

To be contrarian.

The Sagittarius is a solid design too, though.
