[jk] When a particularly pious person, human or otherwise, dies, the bishop or other religious figure is to hold an investigation looking for special miracles either in their life or after during their local veneration. They are also to examine for "purity of doctrine." Martyrs are to be judged as to whether they "died for the faith" and each investigation is to have a "devil's advocate" whose job it is to question the process to make it sure. After all of this, they are declared to be Venerable. This can be done without the verification of a miracle. The next step, Beatification, requires a proven miracle. The step after that is the canonization of a Saint and needs at least one more major miracle. At this point they may then be granted a Holy Day of Rest that others may celebrate their deeds.

There is a small part within me that still cannot fathom that Big E, despite being around for all of human history, couldn't see his Grand Imperium of Man going south despite being an amalgamation of every terrible regime in history.

I think Giving saint status to them is far too radical. Maybe better to give them title of Holy animals like Buraq, Foo Dogs or Quiln etc

No, considering they are thinking and feeling beings who can communicate with our followers, I'd say they are far above being Holy Animals.

And to be fair, while labeling them Saints may seem a bit extreme and radical, keep in mind we're already radical as fuck in the eyes of the rest of the galaxy (or we would be if anyone else was aware we existed). Yes we're similar to the Imperial Creed, but still distinct enough that we can take liberties.

So, while the Imperium cannot comprehend "mutants" being anything close to divinity, our faith on the other hand, which was able to be formed by both pure humans and some mutants, in which our god helped us save and pacify some other mutants........that should be signs enough that mutants can be somewhat close to saint hood (so long as they're faithful) or at the very least not grounds for discrimination and abuse.

[ ] Divine inspiration should not derive from the judgement of some distant old corpse, but from the endorsement of the masses. If one has a 10 endorsements, they're blessed in the 10th degree. If one has 10 endorsements of the 10th degree, then one is recognized as blessed in the 9th degree. This procedure repeats, and the top 3 layers are various categories of saints.

But more seriously:

[X] Plan: Well First of All, Through The Star Child All Things Are Possible, So Jot That Down
-[X]Create two categories, those living/mortal who are deemed Venerable or Blessed after an examination of their deeds to clarify that they and their beliefs are in the highest and most holy regard, aimed always for the Faith, and if they claim to have powers from one of the Five, the source of their powers. The second consists of Saints, who have the former evaluation done during their life or after it, and are granted these titles by the occurance of Miracles, which are to be investigated. They must also be subject to what is known as General Acclaim, being not in some particular the project of one small group or another, but of the Holy Commonwealth itself realizing their virtue.
-[X] Excellence in a field may or may not be a sign of the favor of the Five, but by the Star Child those who aid in recovering STCs or advancing understanding and knowledge in ways that help people, and enrich the world, rather than merely the powerful or in creating new weapons... are to be given consideration, and if they have lived a blameless life, they might be called by the title of "Learned" to go along with Venerable (for those who have done good work over a long lifetime) and Blessed (for those who have done great deeds that exemplify a Faithful, Pious, and Compassionate person) in the set of titles given to the living, and may be then considered for Sainthood.
-[X] As for the matter of whether a nonhuman can be Saint, or Venerable, or Blessed?
-[X] See the following passage of the Droman Creed: "I believe in the Community and Body of the Faith, Holy and Universal--its reach total as all unite in its sacred purpose regardless of species, appearance, or prior faith and creed--such that all the voices of the galaxy might one day be lifted in Song."
-[X] In other words, to deny the possibility of a Blessed, Venerable Martyr, or Saint who is not Pure Human is a heresy, and indeed even a non-human may be a Saint in theory, and to think otherwise is to among other things commit the heresy of underestimating the Star Child and the Five.
-[X] It is the case that in the fullness of time, there shall be Five titles for the living and mortal who yet show the inspiration of the Star Child, as there are Five. While there are three now: Learned, Blessed, and Venerable, as the Star Child's will is revealed so too will two other sorts of great and holy be unveiled.

Or something? The last part I think we definitely need to hammer in.

Well I think technically, there's the question of... are they dead? Are they living? If they're living, then the question remains as to whether they would be a Saint or "merely" a Blessed.

But that's a concern for another time, isn't it?

Like, this is going to cause debates, and I'm open for suggestions for improvements... except the name of the plan, that stays.

so how does the ad mech be part of sainthood, like discovering something new, finding a STC or innovating on top of a STC; if STCs are considered the pinnacle of mankind before the fall, then the idea of innovating on top of the best of mankind either requires a genius of unimaginable scale or a miracle, which may denote sainthood

Oh, actually, @HeroCooky , does Droma III have any access to Rejuvenat? Since they do have a noble class and nobles do love that shit. But it could be something they had shipped in, so just checking.

That's actually... huh. That's a VERY interesting thought. Lemme think about this.

the reason i thought of it is because the doman creed includes the ad mech into the worship of the star child, bringing the motive force, machine god and omnissiah

the omnissiah is basically their version of Jesus and the highest version of sainthood to our ad mechs, so really whats denoting one close to the omnissiah in their knowledge?

there's also how the omnissiah and emperoer are co equal so they should be treated as the pinicle of 2 distinct paths of veneration and sainthood

It's really kind of depressing, Imperials only have two switches it seems. Maximum Jackboots or Maximum Heresy, with absolutely zero transitional space. You're either one or the other, and if you're not one, you immediately become the other without hesitation or any break in stride either.
With the Warp, it is a self-reinforcing thing, isn't it?

From the Jackboots pov: If you aren't with the Jackboots you must be Chaos.
Every Chaos incident is a reason to be more extreme in the Jackboot-ing.
More extreme Jackboot-ing -> more extreme thoughts/stories of Chaos corruption influence the empyrean, which influences reality.

Part about non-humans is extra important here, for me.
It's a way to be a truly universal god, even if human centric regardless.
