What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

Yeah, it's a fair trade, we just need to be in a position where we can properly carry out our part.

And yeah, Neophytes should hopefully keep while we get Education and Food online next turn. Hopefully there's no other imminent crisis?

Like honestly there's a chance even if we went Dogmatic, we might wind up being mass-purged. It would not be even remotely against Imperial Vibes to go, "Heroic of you to resist Chaos, but you are tainted by your exposure to it, and so you will be purified in the flames so that your soul will not be forever lost to darkness."

I mean, they're already going to kill us at first sight? That ship has long ago sailed.
I think it's a bit late for that.
I didn't write that. It's apart of the voting option and not my reason for voting for it.

What do?
[] Leave Them Be

They are no threat to us now, and they have openly stated their desire to leave after building a ship within the next three centuries. Let them be, and let them leave. Better not tie ourselves so blatantly to something that will make the Imperial forces here try to kill us at first sight.

[] Offer Protection And Aid For Loyalty And Tithes
Though these Xenos fought against and killed humans, they did not do so out of malice or aggression but in defense. If the local rulers had merely attempted to communicate with them, they would have been more prosperous than before, and the Kil'drabi would have gone away on their own. Forty years is a long time to spend without aggressive moves if you wish to conquer or despoil a system, long enough that not talking to them before attacking becomes a malicious act in itself. These survivors now hide underneath the Frozen Moon and try to rebuild their industry, hoping that a few centuries are enough to build a ship and peacefully leave. But we can offer them another choice. Stay, live under our protection, accept our machines as aid, and help us help everyone by supplying us with metals now and ships far later. The universe is a dark place; will you light another candle by the flame of ours?
(Gain: The Kil'drabi Protectorate, the effects of one Heavy Industry action.)

[] Commence Orbital Bombardment.
Wipe this filth from the face of the galaxy!
(Warning: x0.2 Voting Weight attached due to [Iconoclast] traits!)

Except we already saw here--just now--that Imperial Forces will generally try to kill us on first sight. The only difference is that at the moment, it's just Actually Educated people will try to kill us on sight. But most institutions that matter will have an Actually Educated Person somewhere to identify these things.

Half would immediately be shot and burnt on sight, while a quarter of the population is spared but mindwiped of the whole thing and then plopped down either on a proper Forge World, or maybe a Deathworld labor camp. Then the last quarter of the population goes through the same process except they also get sterilized on top of the rest.

The Inquisitor in charge of the operation smiles to himself, goes to enjoy a nice cup of recaff after a long and hard day of abusing terrified refugees, shoots the Assassin hiding behind his door, only to get fragged by another Inquisitor hiding in his office's closet.

But then Inquisitor 2 gets his head exploded. Inquisitor 1 was a Psyker all along, and had a body double take the grenade for him.

No, this isn't even an exaggeration, I've given you one of the most tame Inquisitor after action reports you could ever read in 40K.

[X] Leave Them Be

Given how they've already had a bad experience with humans they'll most likely be inclined to shoot first if we approach so I'd much rather have some military might before hand to protect ourselves before we try reaching out diplomatically towards them.

To be perfectly clear, the Kil'drabi will actually stay as your protectorate should you be able to uphold your end of the deal. (On-planet or as fleet-based to be decided in the future.) They just want to skedaddle in option one due to thinking they will die once discovered by anyone other than you.

And yes, the second option is something they would be 100% perfectly okay with. They have no ill-will towards you. You didn't shoot them. You talked. You are offering aid. They are able to differenciate between one group and another of the same species.

[X] Offer Protection And Aid For Loyalty And Tithes

Alright, I admit the idea of it being Orks was wrong, but the idea of it being them was almost practically guaranteed from what clues were available at the start of the turn. Besides that, a lot of Chaos, Tau and Eldar shenanigans are likely to be in our future for our system and likely sector of space.

We have been talking to their speaker, so we already succeeded at the "approach" phase.
Now its just indifference (let them leave) or "The universe is a dark place; will you light another candle by the flame of ours?"

Will offering protectorate to xenos get is in problems with Lamenters? They are also iconoclast but that doesn't necessarily means they're fans of xenos cohabitation.

Chapter Master Chyron, 0.01 miliseconds after being informed about the Kil'drabi Protectorate and major continued support in rebuilding his Chapter: "Ki-who?"

Local QM scandalised by quester voting for an option they wrote! More updates later tonight but for now here's Vlad with the Blood Blow update, how's it going down there Vlad?

"17 deaths!"

Thanks Vlad!

Being fair, this is inconsistent with how we act and unlikely to gain any traction due to the civic we chose.

If he was here he might've had an issue. But he's not and so long as he doesn't wake up next turn we should be fine with "look they worship the star child too (sorta) and they're a major part of rebuilding your chapter! Aren't they nice (or at least tolerable)?"
