[X] 1000 Dimensional Travel

Don't know if we'll ever get this. Or get the needed amount of points. Plus we don't really need immortality.

Cuz pattern recognition has taught you that more often than not we'll vote sideways on you?
Excellent point. And once again I expect a landslide for DT instead I have a fierce battle with SI winning for now.

Would this be the last time for this one?
No, we only got it once so we can gain it twice more.

This is the the biggest power I think we can get, isn't it?
Yes, it is. At least until we gain access to the capstone power list.

I'm not even sure why I'm bothering with this subvote. Tradition I guess?
'Looks at the current vote count' I would say it's because we like to surprise you seems the most likely answer? This makes a tie vote for SI and DT by the way.

We are immune so psychic damage thanks to the Anti-Force Lizard we keep on us in Weapon Shape at all times.
While I agree with everything you said, I just want to point out Yellow is currently in Armor Summoning as a scarf alongside Comfi on Alex's neck rather than its earring knife form from Weapon Summoning, he changed it to Armor Summoning after the Empire attack.

And I changed it again when we got Equip trait. Now it's not even summoned anymore, instead, its Force canceling bubble is equipped to Babel the fish that is in Alex's ear.

Fuck it, we ballin.

This is a pretty important vote for the story... Lets hope it doesnt ruin it.

[X] 700 Sustained Immortality

I am gonna say this, I don't like Dimension hopping stories, especially when the author doesn't set out to write a dimension-hopping story. Also, no offense to Zagan, I don't really think he can handle a dimension-hopping story because I often notice whenever stories or quests get into the realm-hopping part they die off.

Just as a curiosity, did you know, that if we actually obtain all 16 remaining non-repeatable powers we get to roll on a new, improved, and more powerful table? (Okay, I know at least one of them we have to get more than once, but still...) It's true! Also, it is rare that we get to roll on the powers table with 1000 pts, but in order to get the new table we have to bite the nails and get it. I'm sure we don't have to actually use it, that will probably be one of the things that is put up to a quest vote.

called a Flerken. Guess what earth species it looks like?"

I let out a weary sigh. "It's a fucking cat isn't it?"

"Got it in one. Completely indistinguishable from a normal domesticated cat until it opens its mouth."

We all chuckled. Either the multiverse was so full of cats that we couldn't help but stumble upon them every two steps or the Menagerie was pranking us.
New omake to add to the list: A heated debate between the administrators over whether or not they should accept cats in cats like species into the managerie on the same grounds that they don't allow humans.

Sorry, I understand world hopping can turn into a right clusterjunk, but it would be great for the setting to have some more hope of escape

Vote Closed: Winning vote: 1000 Dimensional Travel

Well, that was a thing. As I said, I didn't expect such a debate about Dimensional Travel. I'm not sure but we may have beat the record of voters at once. 18 for DT, 15 for SI, and 1 for MB.

The first thing is that I want to soothe some people's worry. Alex won't go gallivanting all over the multiverse right the instant he gains the ability to do so.

I have a number of plans starting with the next chapter, and I have no intention of disrupting them with that. Furthermore, I want to have access to Creature Acquisition before going anywhere. There's no point in going to Pokemon or One Piece if I can't bring back some new creatures. It would make it easier anyway.

So I want your opinions on how we should handle it in the quest.

As written Dimensional Travel works like this:

-Dimensional Travel: Once per month, you can teleport into the original dimension of one of your creatures. You appear close to a member of the same species as the chosen creature. You can also teleport back to your original dimension with the same once-per-month limit.

And just to be sure that we're on the same page here's an example:

On July 1st, 2011 Alex traveled from the Worm setting (Earth Bet) to the Pokemon Setting (Unova). He arrived there it's also July 1st in that dimension (for simplicity's sake).
He cannot use Dimensional Travel again before August 1st, either to return to Earth Bet or to go to another Dimension.
He decided to return to Earth Bet on the 5th of August and he arrived there on the same date.
If he wishes to travel once again, he must wait at least until the 5th of September.

So that's the situation, and I do not wish to change the rules of the Celestial Menagerie but considering how I've been writing the quest I fear that this would be impractical.

I have a number of ideas, some or all of them could even be combined, and you can propose your own. But this is not a vote I just want to exchange with you. And by the time Alex has the opportunity to travel through the multiverse the situation in the quest may have changed drastically making all this moot.

Option 1: One day in Worm equals One month in any other dimension BUT Alex's power still functions on the Worm timer. So Summoning 3/day becomes Summoning 3/month, and so on.
This would sharply limit his options and prevent him from coming back with a month of Material Extraction backlog.

Option 2: Alex cannot take anyone with him when traveling to another Dimension, not even by stuffing them in the Orb's dimension. This would prevent all forms of evacuation of Earth Bet.
But in exchange, Alex can travel freely between the two Dimensions, and no others, during this one month.
This would allow him to remain active as a Protectorate Hero and just visit the other Dimension for a few hours each day.

Option 3: Alex is automatically recalled to Worm after one month in another dimension and cannot go back to that dimension before he visits another one. So this means a minimum of three months before he can go back.
This would make each visit even more meaningful with a clear time limit at the risk of things happening in Worm that he cannot participate in.

Option 4: Nothing, we keep the normal rules. Like option 3 it means pushing back Dimensional travel until Alex gets a break in his duty, maybe even all the way back to after Scion.
Neither this one nor Option 3 are my favorites, I would like to use DT not as just as an epilogue or season 2 but I could understand that reasoning.

Option 5: Something else?

No matter the options that I ultimately choose, I promise that no visit to another Dimension will last more than five or six chapters. He won't go there to fix all the problems or even any problem in that Dimension, he's not an SI. That does not mean he won't help if encounters a problem but for Alex traveling Dimension will be mostly about gathering more strength and maybe searching for a solution to Scion if at that point he becomes aware of it.

This one sounds like the best one for a quest in my opinion. This means we can still do stuff without dropping plotlines because we couldn't return to the other world in time to do it, or deal with ridiculous time dilation issues. Personally, if this was a regular story I'd go with Option 1 or 3, but a Quest is a lot more active with viewer participation so Option 2 is what I recommend.

BTW, I vote for the first world to be Minecraft so we can visit Big Village and meet King #1, another Keeper of the Celestial Menagerie.

To me, the lack of evacuation/travel buddies would cripple one of the better reasons for this power. Of the options presented, I prefer the original...

This is an important discussion, so don't reveal the rules in story until you actually use it. Just lightly brush that there are rules till then.
This way we got more time and if and when you finally do travel him you will have plenty of time to change your mind if something changes again and decide this or that would work much more favorably.

It's a fair point but I'm not too keen on having Alex being saddled with a babysitter while he's visiting other worlds. And worse being the babysitter for more fragile people. Though it could be a good plot point.
As for the evacuation thing I don't really want to go in that direction because it was wonderfully done in Wild Soul.

Yes, absolutely. You can be sure that in the next chapter when Alex gains the power he won't go into too much detail. Simply stating that there are some rules and limitations that he needs to account for.

Can someone post a updated threat report for our main character.

Sure, that's a good idea. I threw a quick thing together.
