Into that Vast and Unrelenting Darkness (40K Xeno Civilization Quest)

Where's that at?

Just want to check it out
Here it is. Improved Warp drive is probably the most important project here.

It looks great, hopefully we could afford all of this. A full on ship plan to make up the loses and gain new types of ships? Sign me up!

Had some random thoughts pop up.

It was about some sub group of our Nova Mechanica dedicating their lives to the ideal "holy human form". Like all tech priests they seek to replace weak flesh with cybernetics, but believe that the human body is also a biological machine worth preserving in some form rather than completely discarding.

So, rather than becoming more and more inhuman in appearance, they seek to strike a balance between machine and human. Thus their pursuit of such an ideal leads them to Ghost in the Shell style cybernetic augmentation.

Of maintaining the appearance of humanity, while becoming one with the machine. Something like Motoko's extent of cybernetics is the end goal that this sub sect would pursue

Those already exist in the regular mechanicus, they are called Organicists.

Organicists - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
Good to know. Thanks

Edit:

Though looking at it, there's a bit of a difference though in that my proposed Nova Mechanica sect focused on upgrading themselves mechanically without abandoning the human form. Basically blending the whole "flesh is weak" and "the human form is holy" except not racist or xenophobic.

Whereas Organicists, are just as weird and grotesque looking as regular tech priests, except the bits they attach to themselves are mostly organic.

Truthfully, I don't think it'll exactly matter in the long run because of how diverse Tekket Society is, especially when it comes to religions.

There's all kinds of religions and beliefs within the community, from machine worship to nature sages and all the other variety that's there.

Look at the Hobbgrots for example, while many do believe in Mojo, it doesn't stop some of them to worship other gods like the Toy Maker.

As for our Mechanicus, they can very well branch out to different paths. Some might want to remove their own flesh completely to become bulky machines while others might want a fusion between synthetic tissues and metal… like how Vision from Marvel was made.

I think blokbots are such an overused, but undervalued and unoptimized resource that we need to try to improve them.

Every fight we've had has been lose the ground fight, try to win through gambits. Blokbots are holding the line, we're running out of blokbots, they're all dead. At this point we either need some major investment into army units or need to upgrade the heck out of these guys.

You know, what I really want to see with the Dr. Yvnture projects is trying to make the Tekket as smart as possible… like the Old Ones

Trying to accelerate the intelligence will do wonders for our ACD and by doing some projects like that, I hope in the long run we start making newer inventions that'll help the military, industry, and other important parts of our culture.

Sure, not having Captain Penultima sucks a little, but I think the power of education will help EVERYONE in the end. Just hope this time we actually do those projects and not leave it to die off.

I like to think we can aim higher than the old ones. They're very good at what they do, but ... Well what they do has a habit of failing deadly for the entire fucking galaxy.

Maybe?

We are being careful but sometimes shit happens, like the Dark Seed. There are some things we can't control but we can only minimize the damage at times.

But anyways, I think someday we'll reach a level similar to the Old Ones, just not now. We have a long way to go… and it starts with education and learning

Well yes, but like I was talking about Eldar, Orks, Necrons, chaos, it seems like they just exist to pop out galactic scale disasters, some of whom produce their own galactic scale disasters. Our response to an apocalyptic scenario is to put it in a box with purifying salts, not create three more to throw at it.

To play Devil's Advocate to the Eldar.

It took 60 million years for them to make a galactic screw up. It's likely the biggest screw up in galatic history admittedly.

But 60 million years without screwing up the galaxy is still a lot of time.

True, guess we are at least better when it comes to solutions… even the Old Ones seem to only make stuff more complicated then it should be.

The Old Ones created many races… we already know about Eldar and Orks, but I want to see some of the other races like the Jokaero, K'Nib, and others.

Speaking of the K'Nib I'm admittedly curious how Bird will interpret them.

All we have are a picture of a K'Nib ship, I think, and a mention that they have 10 limbs. If they were created by the Old Ones for the War in Heaven, they aught to be pretty special.

Though speaking of xenos races, I'm wondering if we'll run into any tarellians. They travel the galaxy as mercenaries after their homeworlds were virus bombed by the Imperium, and in the 41st millenia, a hive fleet ate most of them.

Edit: Found some neat fan art of tarellians.

It's possible BUT we need to do a full ship upgrade plan with the improved Warp Drive/protection to find them. We are still trying to find other races like the Moth folk, Korgum'ai, and any other race out there.

After the NukeTek plan, we need to go into the ship business and start spread out more across the regions to find potienal allies and colonies to make.

Might be smarter to push diplomacy, integrations are gonna be bigger boosts than colonies.
Still, the ship plan is the best idea for that… it provides all kinds of ships, upgrades for them, Warp safety and most importantly… this one project that'll be a game changer.

Warp Drive Improvement: (0/50 → 50/50) gain Improved Warp Drive, allowing all ships to take an additional assignment per turn.

That will truly increase our exploration.

adding on there tons of diplo activites that requre ships for us to do having ton more ship and ship actions would make them much more easy to do all those diplo ship actions

Exactly, we need to do this ship plan after NukeTek plan is finished. Getting the diplomacy missions will not only make the H'k more trustful towards us, but this will also give us more routes for trade and better military aid with the added ships

I want the additional assigment perk as well because I feel like we have been stuck mostly in military and diplomacy assigments with not enough for scientific and exploration ones like searching for Simians and Moths or scanning Moby Monstro.
