But yeah, Option One is a non-starter, simply because we went with roads with alternating responsibility. The rites and ecosystems shifting every so often is going to wreak havoc on the spiritual layer if we do it that way.

And on that note, Option Three is too crazy ambitious because there's not enough trust on either side to get away with it, more importantly, it's arguably not going to be needed for entire mortal generations because there's just not enough people around to really fill up those lines--it's a can we can kick down the road as long as the main travel arteries are properly handled, and we can revisit it in a century or so when there's more trust. It ties up a tremendous amount of manpower for a region that isn't going to be really settled for a fairly significant period of time. Even if it's an option we'll have to take eventually.

So yeah, simply by process of elimination, Option Two's the only viable option, I just hope we can spin it well enough on these grounds.

Well, we are off to a good start.
Unsurprinsingly, it's the MoI on one side, literally everyone else on the other. (Granted, it's also because the WP are absent, but still).

In any case, the middle ground seems like the way to go. The first option runs directly counter to both Ling Qi's and the Summit's objective of making the ES-WS something more than friendly-ish strangers/neighbours. So that one is out.
Furthermore, a single MoI favor isn't worth losing all the others, even if MoI favor is really valuable.

Eh. This one is a bit more complicated, but not really that unmanageable. In terms of pure Favorability count, the first or second choices seem like our best options. For long-term purposes, the third sounds like the best - but it sounds like it's going to be too much MoI loss to be safe. Ultimately, we have plenty of ES and WS favor to soak, one way or another.
Option Three is the best idea in the long run, but we're not looking for 'The Long Run' yet, we're looking to set precedent, and Option Two gets us what we need to minimize harm until it becomes more acceptable to properly sort this thing out.

Option 3 would be a lot more immediately necessary if we had chosen the Shared Bases on the previous vote.
With a lot more shared spaces, and with all the travelers going through, it would be paramount to establish the proper rites for hearth-tending, guest-right, road tending and so on.

But since we chose the Alternating Bases, it would be best to keep a coherent line of progress here.
Starting with a small council that can discuss and experiment with inter-border rituals on the Embassy, and expand those further down the line once they had built some turst.

Ya I'm leery of the -2 drop happening for the MoI.

We will most likely want to spend that -2 or maybe a higher drop if we could on visitors/travelers and cultural quarters if they become an option. I imagine we will need to gain at least +1 or +2 with the MoI somehow to get the majority of what we want out of this section. I imagine it will be from assisting in the capture of the sabator and/or a minor concession.

So far we haven't performed a single action that pissed off Xia Ren. Incredible.
And she doesn't care about this next bit, so the streak continues! For the moment.

Leaning towards #2. Trying to skip out entirely on the spiritual is a big and dangerous ask, but so's trying to force everything through at once. Middle option is going to be causing issues for a long time in the future, but they should be little issues, and with any luck we'll have enough people invested in everything working to solve them favorably.

Mathematically, this is +1 net favorability while option 3 is +0 net favorability.

Eventually, we'll need to meet the stretch goals of this Kickstarter but maybe now isn't the time.

This is a huge part of culture, and I think option 3 is really compelling because of shared research and shared abilities, which could result in some unique and interesting outcomes, plus there will be more cool spirits compared to option 2. Failing the role would put us on the edge, which is the concerning part. To that, we just don't have to get unlucky.

It's not just the MoI. Our supporters among the nobility also said 3 was 'too much, too fast'.

But 2 does set us up to grow.

3 aesthetically appeals to me but we still got one more round after this and even if we made the roll the next round we'd be at the mercy of actually catching Still Waters Deeping to get us over the edge on the MoI.

So 2 is the compromise and it seems basically everyone else likes it in the narration.

It terms of favorability, option 2 is the best, but it does feel that with option 3 so much more ground is covered and it sets the foundation for the rest, might make eating the MoI reduction worth it if it's reduced to a -1.

Hmm, I really think this is when we should really push for Option 3 as otherwise we'd be kicking the issue down the line, and we've already delayed a bunch of other stuff. Besides, it solves the rituals which could easily become a source of contention later on.

Also as an aside, continously picking the middle road options just feels too waffling.

3 is great cause it'd establish the embassy and Snowblossom as the spiritual capital of the borderlands. It'd be a great chance to sneak in some arch-here- I mean, some alternative Weilu views :V

That said, it is a high risk option and we're again suffering from not knowing what's going to come up.

As much as I want to go for #3, we don't have any backers from our own side. If the Wang, Meng, or Luo could be convinced, then sure. But even the very friendly Wang are against it for now.

Diplomacy is the art of ensuring all parties are only mildly unhappy. But in a true compromise, no one is really excited about the result. That's sort of the point of compromise.

I'm for the middle road this time. It's what we need to get more buy in from both sides to support better options in the future.

Option 3 is too risky right now, but when the experts are telling us stuff needs to be done, Option 1 isn't appropriate. This is the best middle-ground, and gives us a starting point for the long-term issues.

[X] A full slate of the appropriate priests will be assembled here, to study the spirits in the borderlands and create a full slate of shared rituals which might be shared across the Embassy grounds and perhaps in the future, be applied to other border regions. -2 MoI favorability, -1 ES Favorability. +2 Pt Favorability, +1 WS Favorability)

i know i said the middle ground was the best option, but i cannot resist pushing for max

Either of these seem fine.
