[X] Try to explain that Usum was factually correct, as fantastical as that sounds
Great chapter, @DragonParadox. I love the world building, and how smoothly knowledge of her Hell is integrating into her consciousness so that the information seems like it has always been there.
[X] No time for complicated explanations now, we need to get your guys some security passes, Izzy and Alec into a medical bay. We will talk later OK
The White Court, all of them working together, could beat Mab in ideal circumstances. The taking her power thing was that they could turn her into a thrall. A thrall for one of them.uh white court definitely would since word of Jim that technically with very low odds the white court could kill mab. Also if they actually succeeded whoever did her in could take her power so they obviously have at least some knowledge about mantle stuff.
Or only a limited one that costs power to use.
The worldbuilding is superb, I hope there would be more!
@DragonParadox, would the same conceptual mechanism that makes shintai continuous, so makes its armor more mundane, just a part of the world, reality, allow Molly to doff her helmet-crown? You know, to show her face to make herself seem more approachable, more personable, less deity, more human?
Everyone can get mote tapped.
We can't not if the mental influence is trying to make us go against our intimacies.
Remember there is a charm that makes It imposible to block and having a turn to attack with our full dice without enemy blocking is really goodWe can't not if the mental influence is trying to make us go against our intimacies.
edit off topic
Every time I read this charm I keep being amazed by how much it sucks. It is a two dot charm so not the cheapest. It costs a willpower to activate and a successful Charisma + Intimidation against a difficulty of the target's Willpower. Then it doesn't matter if you succeed because breaking free just requires a difficulty 7 Strength + Athletics check no mater how many successes you managed. The Infernal directs the crushing weight of her will upon another, forcing their knees to buckle. Vines of living brass then erupt from the ground to entangle those who once dared to stand against her. System: The Infernal spends a turn concentrating her will utterly upon an enemy, spends 1 Willpower, and rolls Charisma + Intimidation against a difficulty of the target's Willpower. Success knocks the target to his knees, and entangles him in sudden creeping vines. The target cannot rise or move until he breaks free, an act which requires a difficulty 7 Strength + Athletics action.
So in summery you have to play willpower a in many ways more precious resource then essence to maybe restrain a single target, but it doesn't matter because even most human can fairly easily break out anyway.
That might be relevant if Kneel or Be Knelt (••) didn't require a whole turn of concentration to do.Remember there is a charm that makes It imposible to block and having a turn to attack with our full dice without enemy blocking is really good
Ok thats pretty bad, but It can be used first turn or while we are leading an army to let our fighters attack a restrained oponent and it only burns willpower. That might be relevant if Kneel or Be Knelt (••) didn't require a whole turn of concentration to do.
as we know there are no day-night cycle in the Kingdom, did she go with a local concept meaning something like "a universally accepted subdivision of a lunar month", e.g. a 1/25th of it, or something else? Maybe hour instead of day? Or did she use a descriptive expression?
...I'm confused about your vote here. Wouldn't Izzy and Alec be much more likely to think they've been abducted by aliens if they wake up in an alien medical facility as opposed to waking up near Molly when she's explaining stuff to Harry and Michael?[X] No time for complicated explanations now, we need to get your guys some security passes, Izzy and Alec into a medical bay. We will talk later OK
Izzy and Alec waking up having been abducted by aliens (because that's how it would look like to them) is more of a fail state than having to delay explaining to Harry and Michael. They are freaking out, but they should have enough self-control not to do anything rash.
@DragonParadox, if it's not too much trouble, another worldbuilding question. Regarding the "day" concept in Molly's speech,
as we know there are no day-night cycle in the Kingdom, did she go with a local concept meaning something like "a universally accepted subdivision of a lunar month", e.g. a 1/25th of it, or something else? Maybe hour instead of day? Or did she use a descriptive expression?
Piggybacking on that, is the length of the lunar month equal or similar to the Earth one, or something different? Perhaps something more artificial like e.g. 25 periods of 25 hours?
No denial of omnipotency. Molly is susI am not perfect, and I am not omniscient, and I am not even fully mature yet.
That's actually a pretty narrow defense when you're talking combat mind magic instead of long term manipulation. We can't not if the mental influence is trying to make us go against our intimacies.
A charm that requires another charm to work is pretty bad.Remember there is a charm that makes It imposible to block and having a turn to attack with our full dice without enemy blocking is really good

Well we can now bring back the dead (here) so just time travel is still beyond our reach. And this retroactive creation makes that limitation look suspicious.
