Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[jk] This is my empire which has existed for ages since causality isn't what it used to be.

[X] No time for complicated explanations now, we need to get your guys some security passes, Izzy and Alec into a medical bay. We will talk later OK

Great chapter, @DragonParadox. I love the world building, and how smoothly knowledge of her Hell is integrating into her consciousness so that the information seems like it has always been there.

Molly *trying to adapt to knowing/not knowing relevant pieces the history, geography and culture of an entire world on the fly*: Yep all going smooth as strangle-silk... er I mean smooth as Yirk butter... smooth as stacking dis-ordered ice. That's an earth thing I'm sure. :V

The worldbuilding is superb, I hope there would be more!

@DragonParadox, would the same conceptual mechanism that makes shintai continuous, so makes its armor more mundane, just a part of the world, reality, allow Molly to doff her helmet-crown? You know, to show her face to make herself seem more approachable, more personable, less deity, more human?

uh white court definitely would since word of Jim that technically with very low odds the white court could kill mab. Also if they actually succeeded whoever did her in could take her power so they obviously have at least some knowledge about mantle stuff.
The White Court, all of them working together, could beat Mab in ideal circumstances. The taking her power thing was that they could turn her into a thrall. A thrall for one of them.

Sadly no, that is a part of you, if it were armour it could not the stacked the way you can. When you shapeshift you do not put on armour, Molly has an armour charm and she has an armour mortal martial art even. When she goes into shintai her flesh becomes brass and basalt, she takes on the form of an idealized conquering warlord,

So Mab doesn't have perfect mental defense.
Everyone can get mote tapped.

It's also worth noting that celestial mental defenses are bullshit. Molly can reflexively become immune to all mind alterations for a scene regardless of source or strength, and is passively immune to things that violate her intimacies.

Lydia and most other terrestrials have something that only defends against a single target.

My bet is she has something like that, and a lesser version of the intolerable burning truths charm that covers Winter Law.

[X] Try to explain that Usum was factually correct, as fantastical as that sounds
"No, dad, I kinda did just 'let there be light' this whole place on accident" I such a funny concept
Like, at first they may think we just crated a kingdom in the Nevernever somewhere, which would be way be more reasonable then creating a kingdom completely separate from creation within your soul.

We can't not if the mental influence is trying to make us go against our intimacies.

The Infernal directs the crushing weight of her will upon another, forcing their knees to buckle. Vines of living brass then erupt from the ground to entangle those who once dared to stand against her. System: The Infernal spends a turn concentrating her will utterly upon an enemy, spends 1 Willpower, and rolls Charisma + Intimidation against a difficulty of the target's Willpower. Success knocks the target to his knees, and entangles him in sudden creeping vines. The target cannot rise or move until he breaks free, an act which requires a difficulty 7 Strength + Athletics action.
Every time I read this charm I keep being amazed by how much it sucks. It is a two dot charm so not the cheapest. It costs a willpower to activate and a successful Charisma + Intimidation against a difficulty of the target's Willpower. Then it doesn't matter if you succeed because breaking free just requires a difficulty 7 Strength + Athletics check no mater how many successes you managed.

So in summery you have to play willpower a in many ways more precious resource then essence to maybe restrain a single target, but it doesn't matter because even most human can fairly easily break out anyway.

Remember there is a charm that makes It imposible to block and having a turn to attack with our full dice without enemy blocking is really good

@DragonParadox, if it's not too much trouble, another worldbuilding question. Regarding the "day" concept in Molly's speech,
I welcome you all to the first day of the rest of our lives.
as we know there are no day-night cycle in the Kingdom, did she go with a local concept meaning something like "a universally accepted subdivision of a lunar month", e.g. a 1/25th of it, or something else? Maybe hour instead of day? Or did she use a descriptive expression?

Piggybacking on that, is the length of the lunar month equal or similar to the Earth one, or something different? Perhaps something more artificial like e.g. 25 periods of 25 hours?

Izzy and Alec waking up having been abducted by aliens (because that's how it would look like to them) is more of a fail state than having to delay explaining to Harry and Michael. They are freaking out, but they should have enough self-control not to do anything rash.
...I'm confused about your vote here. Wouldn't Izzy and Alec be much more likely to think they've been abducted by aliens if they wake up in an alien medical facility as opposed to waking up near Molly when she's explaining stuff to Harry and Michael?

Or is them waking up convinced they've been abducted by aliens the desired result?

Good catch, changed that to moon-tenth, they would need a unit of time for things like that. 25/25 division sounds like it would make sense given the theme of 5s in the world.

That's actually a pretty narrow defense when you're talking combat mind magic instead of long term manipulation.

If 10 whamps jump us and try to go for enthrallment we spend one mote to shut them down and proceed with a slaughter.

If Lydia gets jumped by 10 whamps a similar level of immunity would cost her 10 motes and a minimum of 4 turns if she focused all her spending on it. It's neither practical or effective, she'd have to basically tank most of the mental attacks with willpower and focus on disrupting their game so they can't just sit there and spam them at her.

Unless and until they specifically tried to force either of them to betray a close ally or core ideal the passive immunities wouldn't do anything.

Remember there is a charm that makes It imposible to block and having a turn to attack with our full dice without enemy blocking is really good

A charm that requires another charm to work is pretty bad.

Having some amazing synergy that makes it better is one thing, but each one needs to be good at something on its own to justify the expense.

[X] Walk and talk: Get Izzy and Alec into a medical bay, explain as much as you can on the way there and then on the way to the plaza

This is probably the best option. The other do both write ins come on way too strong for a first meeting or make unfortunate comparisons while Micheal and Harry are at the edge of flipping out.

Enough of a cliff notes answer to keep them from thinking we're in danger is fine for now, we can do more details later.

It'll also give us an IC look at the details, which should help get us all on the same page on some of the basic assumptions we're making about how hells work.

[x]Plan Crisis Mode
-[x]*To Harry and Michael*"Izzy and Alec need somebody to check them over medically for any surprises and if I'm not there they might think they got abducted by aliens."
-[x]*To Ameli* "I'm in kind of a crisis mode right now otherwise I wouldn't be starting with orders like this. Michael and Harry need security passes and a translator if Usum can't do it, my friends Izzy and Alec need medical attention and I need to be there when they wake up, they were recently abducted and I want to make sure their captor didn't leave any surprises. Depending on how long the security passes and medical attention take Harry and Michael may need directions to whatever medical place we're at."
-[x]*To Usum* "If the medical people get here before the passes are done, can you handle translation for them Usum?"
-[x]*To Harry and Michael* "Now we find out how long security passes and medical attention take. I'm not sure how much time we're going to have for me to do anything but confirm what Usum said to you, though I should be able to give a more extensive explanation once Izzy and Alec's medical situation is in order."
