Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

We don't know how large the universe was before Primordial War. She Who Lives in Her Name, one of the Primordials the Principle of Hierarchy, mutilated herself at the end of the war, which caused 90% of everything to be removed from Creation. And by everything I don't mean "volume of space". I mean "90 % of concepts that make up Creation". Concepts like color, space, friendship, linear time (those obviously weren't removed, but I am just giving examples of the type of things that have been deleted).

In Gunstar Autochtonia, a canonical what-if where Sol surrendered to Theion, Spiral (Creation before the War) was at least galaxy-scaled.

Semi-canonical, it's still a Shard, but it's a Shard derived from the backstory of actual Creation instead of something completely out of left field.

Still pretty cool, and I think the Theion stuff actually is canon, but just because that's how Gunstar handled it doesn't mean that's how pre-War Creation actually looked.

I am reminded of a story where someone from our world was transported to a magical world.

SI "The night sky is really beautiful tonight"

Demon companion "Yes sky 4753 one of my better pieces it's supposed to convey a sense of melancholy and introspection"

SI "what your saying that the sky is a screen? In my world it is thousands of galaxies going out forever"

Demon "That's crap"

SI "No it really is like that "

Demon "I know it's like that and it's crap. Your's is a low mana world so management made budget cuts all over the place."

SI "your saying that a screen is more impressive "

Demon "More impressive than a bunch of lifeless matter scattered about willy nilly and doesn't care about you of course."

I have a feeling the White Council will probably try to poke us before we poke them.
We have incentive to do so first though.

The hell stuff is soaking all the thread focus right now, but we are in the middle of some touchy bullshit that intersects with their business.

I think there's a strong argument to be made that working through the council is the most effective way to actually strike at Arianna and Broken Seeker.

That it helps people we like and potentially could earn us valuable favors/influence is just icing on the cake.

One thing you guys might want to consider vis a vis hells is where you want Molly to emerge. For hells that are not sealed in this will be a choice just for this one, but for hells that are designed with only one clear exit she is going to show up next to that.

That's a hard question, I think. If we were alone, and this wasn't being done out of need to stash our friends somewhere perfectly safe, I think appearing in the throne room / center of power would be the best idea. With the fact that we are not alone... Private bedroom in the palatial complex? Yeah, that probably works.

Also, definitely hope we have an ability to appear in different parts of our hell. I want to Clark Kent it on at least one occasion and just go clubbing with our friends. Or to walk the streets without being recognized.

If I understood correctly, we are meeting Broken Seeker tomorrow, and going hunting / ambushing Arianna immediately after.

fairly sure you made it so imagery exists of us across your hell yog. Also you know fairly sure we might get arrested if we're just in the palace with no evidence of who we are? That clark kent shit should be for later visits not the first the first should definitely be us being introduced and speaking to our people.

Not that I was minded to share that fact share but I'm no stranger to dealing with demons. After what Chauncy had done I'd been firm in my decision to stay the -figurative- hell away from them so as not to end up in the literal one. But even at my most daring, call it what it is, reckless I never would have thought to make a deal with something as old, cruel and crazy as a naagloshii so when Molly had said the thing would just hand off its hostages on her word that she'd help him hunt vampires well that had sounded like the opening bell for an ambush to me.
Well, Harry, it seems that she's just better at this than you. Dealing with ancient powers as an equal is more in her wheelhouse than yours.

Like I mean if we clark kent it the first time why would we visit more its a fucking hell that lends towards caution and I don't want us or harry and michael being cautious of entering again.

While that might be the ideal spot, I would also proposition the Door of Journeys, as the 'main way' to leave the hell in theory, it could also be considered the 'main entrance', especially being in the city of Journeys it's very thematic.
It opening from the outside to let us in would certainly be noticed.

No time or plan was set, so I don't think so.

Remember that she's a high noble of a major faction at war. You can't just hop a plane to her home city and kill her in an afternoon.

Broken Seeker is way too cautious for that to make sense as a proposal.

I really don't want our first visit of your hell yog to be anywhere but the throneroom. As that would let us actually get to know about our hell and show michael and harry things about our power. They would not easily go in later without some information.

I mean she is, she is a socially focused exalt, but also she's an infernal. Broken Seeker would never have reacted that way to a human, does not matter what their social dice pools looked like, he would not have engaged in what he knew was a relative weakness, socialising without attempting to use terror (so mechanically intimidation) if the person on the other end of the line did not feel like balefire and congealed impurity.*

*from previous observation, he did not actually feel Molly through the phone.

Clark Kenting is for future visits, yes.

A symbolic journey starting at the golden city and leading around until we hit the center would be interesting if it wins.

we dont have the time for that though. That would take multiple months and most of our time Asides I want to get to being advised on things in the castle, learn about the kingdom, actually bring someone out, etc etc. If we don't start in the palace it'll like take quite a few in real life months before we actually know about those things and I think we've already delayed a lot. Also if you do want to do it at least do it after we've assuaged the concerns of a hell to our parent and harry cause I don't see them willingly going in again without information.

The throne room of course.
Or whatever their equivalent of the Oval Office is supposed to be.
I suspect we'll be expected.

Worth noting that I fully expect that on our return to Chicago, I fully expect we'll have multiple missed calls from a bunch of mystic acquaintances from Rosie through Anna Ash to Gard, with our first caller is going to be Lydia with something along the lines of "What the fuck did you do? I could feel you from Oklahoma!"

It would be interesting, but we have two unconscious mortal friends with us. Which is why I favor appearing in a private bedroom in the palace, where we can leave them to recuperate, and then go sit in the big chair.

I feel this is reallllllly annoying though like if we do this now we sure as hell aren't going to be able to just enter again and get the run down from those in the palace. Its gonna keep going and there is going to keep being reasons to not just do the palace stuff. Asides these people will be loyal just ask them to be given a bed. Actually no we're just taking dresden and michael with us right?

wait you mean to toss two people into the palace then walk to the throne? Why would that ever occur to molly as a thing to do?

By the way I know it wouldn't fit in a portal but you think our civ would have developed anything like nukes or equivalents with the high tech option or at least missiles?

You're taking it to an unnecessary extreme; we could take a look at each city well enough to get a feel for it without taking months.

This is a big deal, I think we can swing handling that situation without completely ignoring either situation.

Depends on the hell.

Why would the fivefold courts even need nukes?

The people of Mu on the other hand probably have an extensive and regularly updated list of things they'd like to explode from a long way off.

Presumably they warred before they united. Given they probably weren't all that advanced. For visiting why can't we just do that later and actually you know learn about our hell first from the palace?
