Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Go meet some interesting people, there will be time enough to pay back the conspirators when Lara gives the signal
-[X] Activate IPM with willpower for the opening scene.
-[X] [Stunt]: Briefly Molly considers hiding behind a mask, posing as lost and ignorant, before the idea shatters against a deep well of indignation.
--[X] For a moment she is once more in a strange city beneath a green star, the teeth inside her unseen eyes grinding at the thought of giving these petty monsters another inch after they've taken so many.
--[X] Exiting Black Rider the shadows didn't grow close, the air didn't take a chill, and the light was not even a flicker greener as she passed. She moved with merely mortal grace, at unhurried mortal speeds, and with good but not exceptional teenage posture.
--[X] Despite that, there was an edge to her presence. A weight that drew the eye and demanded recognition with all the tenderness and subtlety of a branding iron.
--[X] Without saying a word Molly's entrance all but screams one message to a room of ancient predators: I am mortal, and you will kneel anyway.

Time to wine and dine and then fulfill our homicidal designs!

You have Demonic Primacy of Essence, as alluded too in the update you cannot pretend to be a human in a gathering of vampires because all of them are going to feel the urge to submit to your will. It is not subtle.
Sure it is. You just have to use it the right way:
SUBMIT! IGNORE MY PRESENCE AND MAYBE I WILL GO AWAY! SUBMIT! SUBMIT! SUBMIT! DO NOT ATTRACT MY ATTENTION! SUBMIT! SUBMIT!

It occurs to me that Lydia is probably killier than we are in this circumstance, because unlike us she explicitly does get to use her spirit killer on vampires:
Rest-Granting Strike (••)
The Exigent can send a creature to permanent rest.
System: When the Exigent slays any being, the player can opt to roll Wits + Occult (difficulty 6). Doing so prevents spirits (below Incarna-level) and ghosts from ever returning or reforming, prevents any ensouled being from becoming a wraith. The Exigent gains 3 Essence on the spot if the annihilated being was in any sense immortal, such as a spirit, ghost or vampire. Furthermore, the Abyssal can reflexively spend 1 Essence to gain the ability to strike and damage intangible beings for the rest of the scene, so long as she can perceive them
At just under half her full essence pool a head she can basically fight at max burn until she runs out of vampires.

No wonder she's excited. :V

Why with willpower? In general it's more valuable than essence and I don't think that we have any objections to flaring anima at this party.
We have a lot more uses for essence though. Spending too much willpower would be bad, but one or two points early on to preserve essence for high intensity exchanges later on does have value.

Isn't our dice pool for mind hand manipulation dependent on our temp willpower pool?

Yes our effective strength when attacking with MHM is our temporary willpower pool.

Yeah, but we also get to use the usual attack dice shenanigans for that so the difference is small.

I'm not saying it's without utility, just that even after accounting for such costs trading a point or two of will now to preserve essence for later is still a better deal.

[X] Come as what you are, a Prince of Malfeas, a Champion of the Green Sun. A Sovereign from Before. You are here to receive a peace-offering from Lara, so that those that infringed on your domain and hunted undue targets may be swiftly dealt with to the satisfaction of both parties.

1)Temple Dogs are both hella rare and unnecessary.
It says a lot that Ancient Mai was shocked to find Dresden in possession of one during the events of Turn Coat.
Much less hassle to walk down to the local shelter. Or, more likely, consult Abby or Lydia and go to a reputable local breeder.
Rare, I'll give you. Most worthwhile things are. Unnecessary... I might give you - there are easier and simpler options. I would still go for a temple dog or an equivalent (in fact, I would go for a celestial lion cub if we were able to find one), because a) they are cool, b) they are powerful, c) they are cool enough to generate story.
2)Molly has a Training charm in her charmtree that gives powers to minions, and would literally allow her to make ninja turtles.
And Lydia has a similar charm that affects dogs and gives powers.
If we find it necessary, we can to buff any animals at our leisure if Charity and Michael let us.
Molly's training charm can give the gift of speech to someone, but it can't increase intelligence. It is very limited.
Why with willpower? In general it's more valuable than essence and I don't think that we have any objections to flaring anima at this party.
In case we need excellencies, NWS or combat charms.

-Their current lifestyle involves the ability to feed at will, as long as they are reasonably discreet, and you're proposing changing that anyway. Privilege is easy to acquire when you can charm(and Charm) people.

And like I pointed out, the White Court is not the only game in town. The Fomor wont care how many humans they kill, for example.
The Reds wont either. Nor will any number of otherworldly gribblies they can do deals with for power, from necromancers to darker things; Lord Raith's magic immunity came from Outsiders afaik.

The Whites favor stability. That doesnt mean they cant chaos shit up as much as the Reds.

-No it is not.
The other claimants to fill the power vacuum they would leave are far worse. I much prefer the White Court to the Fomor, for example. Or the Reds. Or the Blacks. Or even the Jade Court. Nevermind any other gribblies we havent seen.

Hell, just pushing a significant faction of the White Court to bend the knee to another Yama King is one potential consequence; if they have to deal with archdevils, they might as well go shopping for deals.

-We have at least one Yama King gunning for our head.
Possibly more. And we have Enemy Denarians 2 as a Background, at the same time we've firmly established Nemesis and the other Walkers as an antagonist. We dont need to expand the avenues by which anatagonists can reasonably presume to attack us.

The Reds kind of care how many people they kill since they are their food source, but their tolerance for deaths is much higher than say the White Court... most of the White Court. Some Skavis elders are nostalgic for the 'good old days' when you could kill an entire village and blame the plague, or as Isabela calls them 'fucking loons'. :V

I kinda wish we could have taken Isabela with us for this one.
She could have had fun at the party and then seen us go full Infernal on them.

But alas, she is too squishy, someone could have taken her hostage against us, or just killed her with a stray shot and some bad luck.

Unrelated, @DragonParadox what about Ghouls for the mechanic post?

Creature: Ghoul

Soak:
-Bashing:
Full Stamina
-Lethal: Half Stamina ???
-Aggravated: Only through Disciplines or equipment/magic

Specialities on Soak: Bullets deal full lethal damage

Weaknesses: can Frenzy from Hunger? inhuman appearance in Frenzy?

Fuel/Powersource: Flesh (Bloodpool equivalent?)
Refill-Method: Eating (Do animals count fully or partially, or only humans?)

Supernatural Powers:
-Natural claws/teeth, deal lethal or aggravated?
-Capability for Disciplines, or just physical enhancements?
-Any Healing?

I am going to have to think about this but they definitely have disciplines, even some of the more exotic ones, they are the scions of Lamatsu who was said to lead a coterie of demons and witches. Their magic though is the kind that would be very hard to hide in the modern world.

OK so it looks like Molly is not going to to her best Demon Emperor impersonation prelude.

Lara's blood pressure is stabilizing as we speak. :V

1)Cool I'll grant you.
Powerful yes, but frankly too powerful for the job of babysitting a family that already has angelic protection.
And we dont actually lack for story hooks.

I was thinking a quiet character and family bonding point and a cheap security/peace of mind upgrade.
Not an epic quest to recruit semi-divine guardian animals to watch our parents house.

2)Sapient guards are named characters.
Cast inflation for no other reason than bragging rights just makes the QM's job harder.
I'd rather save that for places where its actually relevant.

Molly's training charm can give the gift of speech to someone, but it can't increase intelligence. It is very limited.
Broad enough.
We would have to worry about ethics and the risks we are putting them to if we had sapient guard dogs.
Not to mention employment conditions and renumeration.

Dogs are loved, but their lives are definitely not equivalent to that of a human, and dont have to be valued the same way.

The Reds kind of care how many people they kill since they are their food source, but their tolerance for deaths is much higher than say the White Court... most of the White Court. Fair enough.

She might not know. We haven't mentioned it and Isabella and her family might not have told Lara either.
Isabella has been attending Molly's public school for the last 1-3 months.
Lara would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to know.

And Isabella certainly knows shit is going down, given that she saw all the mortals squeezing down into Undertown and getting a White Council wizard guard. She's young, not stupid. She isnt going to be there, even if she has to fake discomfort of some sort.
Which makes for the hilarious situation where she'll hear of the events at second and third hand.

I wonder if Lara will be getting a good amount of XP for arranging the situation so that the angry Exalted kills her enemies in a fashion that is best-looking for Lara herself.

That must be worth something.

um, given her personality if she knows something is going down she'll want to be there.

Now her mentor might order her away, but if he doesn't I expect her to be there.
I dont agree.
Read her interlude again at Agent Greene's house, with particular relevance to her thoughts about too much excitement.

There's a difference between wanting to see some excitement and ending up in a warzone where nobility elders and something that feels like Molly might throw down. Especiallly since she'll be unarmed and unarmored.
She's brash not stupid.
