Would you Distort or manifest EGO?

Why don't we ask our little sister if we can extract some EGO from her Abnormalities?

Shouldn't we ask Angela and Chesed for access to his abnormalities? Having their abilities would be crucial in dealing with the Adult!
Without the Light, the denizens of the Library are stuck inside and cannot leave. This applies to both the people and the Abnormalities, since they disappear too in the second bad ending.

I meant in a way similar to CENSORED.

Surely that would work yes? We just go in their book, talk to em, get their saplings and profits!
Censored could do that because they were a Floor of Geography Abnormality and X is just leveraging the Library's connection for their own. You could collect Saplings from the rest of your Floor, but not from Abnormalities outside of it.

Ah I see then. I'll assume this only applies when they are in the Library.

Well that does put quite the damper on that part.

Hey guys, why don't we bring Hitomi here? I bet a normal girl like her would get along with the terrible cool person that Binah is.

I'm just kidding, without a doubt madoka is the best option.

[X] Madoka

[X] Madoka

I may have argued Mami earlier, but that was only out of the reasoning of best fulfilling what Binah asked for (a "sprout" X raised, X having spent the most time with Mami), but with all the talk of what character themes and lessons need to be learned and helped with, I've been convinced.

Either problem is exacerbated by the fact Magical Girls can literally die from emotional turmoil, which Binah is unlikely to know.
We could just tell her that. While it's not a good thing in any case for a magical girl to break, the library is probably the safest location for it to happen given the ready access to support staff and the ability to book someone in the worst case.

And if Binah knows about it, then I don't think her style will be to intentionally break a person like it was in LC. As a librarian she challenges by questioning and probing in that obtuse philosophical way she loves rather than aiming to shatter a person's worldview outright. With Roland she strongly hinted at but didn't directly confront him about his true intentions.

We don't even know what's going to even happen to whoever we bring, or what they'll need to do. This is just "Who can we afford to show off to Binah?" with a side helping of "Who gets to feel useful/validated?".
We asked Binah for help with a combat powerup. The original option cuts our lifespan too short, so we are going with an alternative involving our children. I suspect this will also be a combat powerup, but for the child. If so, this would put Madoka into a combatant role, which is acceptable to me but I would prefer if we went about preventing the Agnus Principle a different way.

[X] Mami
A gamble, but beneath her mask she is the one who holds the most fear about the future I feel. It's protective, but real progress can't be made if it's on too tight, so the hope is that this can prod it a bit without breaking it.

The hero is sent by the king to the devils den.
Wonder how well will she do against Binah... Oh, well, at least its not LC Binah, She breaks a person's will just to prove a point.

I would prefer if we went about preventing the Agnus Principle a different way.

The problem at this point is: *what different way?* leaving aside the fact I'm not sure it's going to lead to the child in a combatant role, searching for the best way to validate Madoka is very prone to falling to *perfect is the enemy of done* behavior, Madoka already internalized that wishing is bad, but she also has talked to Homura quite a lot and doesn't know about EGO, meaning that she can see that being a distortion leaves her coherent, and may decide to listen to Carmen in order to help.

We tried giving her a managerial role, bit between our own knowledge, controlling tendencies and the fact the Adult is not in our book, it's not helping right now (it did at first, but we're not consulting her enough).

We also already take Madoka to fights, she goes to witch hunts with Homura, currently it probably reinforce her feelings of inadequacy since she cannot help, but with an EGO, she can and she's not going to be willing to stop without one, so may as well make her more protected, Homura wouldn't let anything happen to her, but more assurance is always good.

I am still thinking that it's not going to be a simple *give the girl EGO* anyway, Binah is not the best on that, definitely not going to do it in one night, and was answering a question about alternatives on how to manifest our own EGO.

(it did at first, but we're not consulting her enough).
Tbh, it's not quite X's fault. We haven't gotten many situations that we could ask Madoka to after NT's fight.

And then the whole "Let's inform the parents" thing is probably taking up more of her time too.

Edit: And besides, I doubt Madoka isn't putting the extra stuff we gave her to good use. If I remember correctly, she's part of the patrol we have around town right?

Yeah, but we haven't changed our approach for the new situation.

Madoka does participate in patrols, but the problem is that she most likely can't do anything she thinks of as helpful during that time: she can't feel the barriers from afar, so can't scout, she can't fight, Witches are not abnormalities and works differently so she can't use our book. She definitely helps simply by being there for Homura, but we all know that she doesn't consider that enough.

She will get bored.
This thing doesn't have an ideology she can poke, it doesn't have a mentality she can have fun with. All this thing is is a device that tries to prevent the heat death. and failing to a team of humans at that.
Both being one upped by L Corp. and being defeated by a teenage girl god.
She will poke at this thing, discovers that it has a brick wall for emotion and get bored with it after systematically tricking every bit of Information out of its mouth.
it will be a conversation between the former force of nature villain talking with a more boring force of nature villain

*Insert several paragraph long monologue about how it was in our hands all along and other things like that*

My monologue generator is spent, have this short version.
"Young Madoka seeks a purpose, one that yet remains out of her reach, and now you come to me for it? How amusing, that you would ask me of something you yourself once granted us Sephiroths freely before. Maybe instead of searching for an answer from strangers, she is not familiar with, you should search within yourself for what little Madoka needs. Not a hidden gem, neither sparkling nor bright, but your soul's inner light."

Spend way too much time on this lol. Could've been longer but brain juice ran out.

X: "Have you not been paying attention? My soul's inner light is why we're having these problems in the first place."
