Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I'm going to take a swing at a more diplomatic stunt.

[X] As you are, no need to spook the spooks
-[X] Activate ATB with willpower
-[X] Activate Etiquette excellency and IPM with essence
-[X] Stunt: As Molly walks towards the Jade delegation she takes a moment to prepare herself. As she takes a slow breath, the world seems to lean inwards. In the corner of one's eyes the shadows seem to bend towards her in supplication, only to snap into place just before they can be caught by a mortal gaze.
-[X] As she continues forward a chill wind seems to flicker across the path ahead, and in a thousand innocent coincidences clears it of loose debris with the speed of a footman unfurling a carpet for his queen.
-[X] Approaching the messenger, something like recognition glimmers behind Molly's heart and for a moment the breeze carries just the right amount of frost to call to mind the touch of Kakuri in those who have felt it's bite.
-[X] Looking them over, Molly silently reaches to Usum for the proprieties necessary to greet an emissary of the hungry dead.

Maybe a little over the top, but I enjoy doing the imagery for scenes like this. Most of the stunt is just atmospheric, but I kind of hope this particular jade crawled out of the night realm so that the entrance would screw with them more if this wins. :V

I don't think anyone would seriously say that the Wan Xian were Celestial Tier, even if they were some weird kind of Exalted?

We know many of their Disciplines from Blood and Silk. Those elemental Shintai the early Kuei-Jin had and that are stated to be the Wan Xian's abilities before they became the blood/bone/flesh versions of the modern age are nice, but they are certainly not on the level of Solars.

The Exaltation-knock-off theory sounds plausible.

Maybe, big maybe, the August Personage with the Ebon Dragon and Scarlet Queen could have created a large but limited and even for Terrestrial Exalted weak species of Exigents?
That sounds possible at least.
That's pretty explicit in the last few rounds of this argument though; I'm not just barking at the moon here. @Alratan's rebuttal to my comment on printing exalts was essentially that APJ should be able to make processes that create celestials.

I don't buy it. Not every bit of lore should be taken literally or we'll have hundreds of almighty creators who made the world.
WoJ is that most such are the White God in different guises.

-[X] Impervious Primacy Mantle + All Things Betray: 2WP
-[X] STUNT: Between one heartbeat and the next your senses expand around you, bringing formerly fuzzy impressions of the mudnane and supernatural world around you into sharp focus. You turn away from the silverbright impression of Lydia's presence beside you, seeing past the wan glow of the ghost revellers around you to lock unerringly on the intruder. Cocking an eyebrow, you mutter to Lydia "Keep an eye on Daniel" before you begin to make your unhurried way towards the Wan Kuei envoy. Unheard by everyone else, Usum begins to whisper in your ear.

Expenses
1m: Excellency
2wp: IPM + ATB

Status
All Things Betray, active: -3 DC to Perception rolls
Demonic Primacy of Essence, active: -2DC to social rolls against lesser creatures of darkness
Imperial Primacy Mantle, active:
10/12 Essence
7/9 WP

RATIONALE
Taking cues from @BronzeTongue writeup:
-IPM for mental defenses, because a lot of Kueijin power trees contain abilities for looking at or messing with your mind/soul.
Also blocks attempts to drain Essence, in case it becomes relevant.
-All Things Betray for -3DC buff to all Perception rolls
-Demonic Primacy of Essence is always active, giving -2DC to social rolls
-Etiquette Excellency because this is, presumably, a peaceful meeting.
Molly has already dismissed turning them away as the sort of offense that could cause a war, so she isnt likely to be rolling Intimidation. At least, not at first.

Noting that we're spending WP for IPM + ATB because it gives us allowance to spend Essence later without flaring anima.
Which might be useful if we decide its necessary to use the Crown on this fellow's shoes.

I don't recall that one, though it does fit the setting.

That said, I don't think the white god is up to making ten thousand celestials to handle evicting some demonic pests either.

I was actually about to approval vote your plan as well. Does the tally program have a stroke if people do that?

You pass between a pair of trees mid-tact of the music permeating the area, momentarily hidden from sight of everyone present by happenstance and design, and when you are seen once again, your sword is there, a masterstroke of your outfit, making it clear that you are not someone to be trifled with. In your mind, Usum feeds you the lines appropriate for a first meeting with a foreign power.

Hmm...Uju32 is the problem as people voting for him are also voting for Bronze by accident tieing the votes.

Impervious Primacy Mantle
Do we need this? I have not gotten the impression Jade's use much mind stuff and spending all the time just in case on a reflexive charm feels weird.

I know that memory trick somehow didn't allow for reflexive defense, but I really don't want to believe that is how the rules work this game.

@DragonParadox : Does it work that way in this quest? Mind attacks work by default unless Molly manages to consciously notice the attack after the fact so we have to do paranoia voting from now on?

It wasn't just that forget me field; we also got a warning during our Mab encounter that she would have rolled us with UMI if we hadn't had IPM up. I think there were two other ones, but I don't recall the exact details there.

As to utility, jades can be pretty flexible. I'd rather they fail outright rather than allow them to see us get dinged and then defend ourselves. The net mechanical effect is the same, but one projects a sense of invincibility that discourages testing us.

As to why it works this way mechanically, my thought is that's it's related to a reflexive action still being a type of action. You need to know that you should be taking it to do so, and mind magic is a special case where getting hit can stop you from realizing you should defend yourself.

By that logic someone can blow up our brain with us having no chance to resist. A beyond perfect attack because defense isn't possible.

1)You're carrying an unbound weapon at a diplomatic function.
Which will unnecessarily perturb the ghosts this dance was made for.
Not unbound. Our dress was specifically designed for our sword to be displayed:
The foundation of the outfit is a classic sleek but flowy and not restrictive sleeveless silk dress dyed a bright emerald green. It is classic in that understated elegance way that never goes out of style. But a dress alone does not an outfit make. Alongside the dress comes jewelry, specifically cascade of small brass and emerald teardrop earrings that dangle from the multiple ear piercings that Molly refuses to hide. Additionally her left arm is adorned by a brass and emerald bracelet.

It feels right in the same way your armor does, like something you had seen long ago in a window and yearned for.

Three bands of brass twist around her wrist with six large perfectly clear dark green emeralds appear almost black save for when they catch the light and flash brilliantly green. Her left hand also bares two thick rings, one on pinky and one on index, with emeralds of similar quality. Her right hand and arm are bare.

Something you had worn an age ago.

Almost you surprise yourself when you realize what is missing, when you draw a sword of eldritch brass and green flame wjich enthrones itself upon the face of every emerald. With your free hand you heft a green silk clutch with with brass hardware attached to a thin green silk strap onto your other shoulder. If Lydia is a judge then you are... what? A warrior? A champion? A queen, Usum says with surety you do not feel.
We don't have the sword drawn because we didn't want the cops alarmed by seeing us with a sword when we arrived. That's not an issue now, as they are maintaining the outer perimeter, and we are inside it.

@DragonParadox my stunt, as I wrote it, was for Molly to stealthily manifest her sword so it completes her dress, not to have it in her hand and ready to fight. Was this clear? And, as far as Molly can tell, would it alarm the ghosts?

2)You are giving free intel to a Jade Court vampire.
Is there ANY reason why we should be waving our Demon Weapon 5 under their nose?
This here is a complete paranoia. Anyone who has intel on us will very quickly know that we have such a sword. The reason to display it is to bring forth our best. Anyone with supernatural senses will be able to tell that something is missing from our dress when we are without our sword. It would still be beautiful, but not complete.

There's no need to write-in IPM activation from the start; it's reflexively activated when needed. But ok

If this is a young Jade court vampire doesn't that mean that it needs to eat human flesh? Or does it not have to be human? Just saying we might be able to subordinate it. New minion get. And the Jade is able to brag to all the others how it has transcended the need for flesh at such a young age. It only needs it's own loyalty to support itself.
