Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I'm totally against explaining "who you are". It is a very broad option and it can give Elder some ideas. On the other hand, explaining the limits of the MiS in general terms seems like a good idea.

[X] Your hunger is merely forestalled for the duration of your service. To tame it, it must be sated with a mortal life's worth of chi... through there is no requirement to partake from one who contains merely one lifetime's worth. I must admit curiosity as to what you will choose - few of the Hungry can say their soul is yet unstained by murder.

edit: Added a bit at the end to get her thinking along the lines we want.

She is right back to 'eat someone or die' as she does not have the control a White Court Vampire who already ate someone has. Basically you need to run the engine all the way to get to some kind of equilibrium. One of the few ways to get around that is to feed from someone you can drain a human's worth of life without killing them.

Ok, this is very important, misunderstandings have to go, we cannot sustain a situation that unstable on misinterpretations or things like that, time to think on how to confess.

And no matter what, we need to point out that her hunger is not tamed right now, which means that, as strange as it sounds to me, I am more in agreement with Uju's plan than Yog's as of right now, since it is explicit about that problem.

Sure, I took it from the @DragonParadox post. Sure, I'll correct it.

Good idea. Not sure I like the idea of outsourcing the charity creation to a brainwashed teen, though.

So, to be clear, she can't feed a little bit at a time while under effects of MiS until her tank is full and she regains natural control?

Unfortunately not, even if she gets a full tank under MiS the next time she needs to feed normally she would be right back where she started, with no experience how to control the hunger. Infernal charms do not teach others how to make due without them, that would be counterproductive. Now if you had VEE 'control over the Hunger' would be a valid wish but that is because it comes with another source of control.

I do wonder if we can engineer for Molly to stumble unto the secret of how a white court vampire can kill their hunger.
Asking Bella if she wants to become a vampire could well put us on the path to finding out. And using a question on Isabella to find her True Love would be heartwarming.

I quote:
So you just sit there and drink your espresso, not really tasting anything as the vampire struggles with himself. If even he cannot accept this, cannot believe your claims of goodwill you are sure that none of the ones in Undertown would even contemplate it and there went that brilliant plan.

"You are not planning to keep this a secret are you?" he finally asks, voice soft with some unnameable emotion caught in a three way pull of yearning, fear and sorrow.

"Do you think I could hide this and make any use out of it?" You counter. "No, I realize there will be those who take making use of such a power as a challenge, but in the end they are the same people who would take it as a challenge that I draw breath. Strange tools as these may be I will make the best of them."

"The best for whom?" Thomas asks, his gaze boring into yours.
"For everyone I can help," you answer without hesitation. "I've been to Undertown a spirit down there in the tunnels, called himself Porter of the Last Station who said there are others of the White Court near his haunts, ones who aren't doing well with their state. "

"The mad and the deposessed," Thomas gives am ugly laugh. "They might be the sanest of us all, at least they don't lie to themselves abouat what we are." "You are different things to different people, including yourselves. We are none of us all of one thing." Your own laugh is sheepish but sincere for what it is.. "Or at least that is what I tell myself when the voice in my head is feeling talkative."
This is not something that we can use and conceal.

Its a good policy to try and minimise what information you give out willynilly.
But this is not something we can keep secret. Its something we have outright promised we wont keep secret.
We have the Jade Dogs underground, and there's other renegade Whites in Undertown.

We have commitments.
We cant protect the Jade Dogs from anonymity. We cant do the same for the Ordo Lebes if people dont know that fucking with them will bring retribution from an Infernal Exalt.

Also, the Elder is not going to actually jeopardise his charge.
Maybe after he has guaranteed her safety.
But he isnt going to pick a fight with someone who has the powers of a Jade Court elder, or more.

So we're going to have to arrange a playdate with her "uncle" when we can have a monitored feed to stabilize her control.
Which means they actually need to know.

You fish out Clippy from your pocket, moving it in such a way to make sure that the faces of the vampires are caught in their lenses: "Now, what e-mail and phone number can I use to contact you later? I feel we should talk more when after you had time to process. And to keep you, and more importantly, your hunger, occupied, I give you this command - prepare for our next meeting. Learn of the supernatural. Meditate on what path you wish to follow. Do your homework."

Ok, I like the "forestalled" option, and so I am taking it up. I am also setting a future meeting with the girl, and hopefully only the girl.

Remember to swap chi for essence.

edit: Also, we nee to ask for her contact info, or can Clippy just do technomagic and find it out? It would be a lot cooler if her phone dings with a text our of the blue.

edit 2: I'm not satified with how complex you're making this whole vote. Your approach is... clunky.

Clippy does not so much have technomagic as is technomagic, she and her kin are very minor spirits that can turn anything with a micro-processor, or roughly similar capacity into an AI

Mana maggots plague will fill her up.
This is actually an interesting point, mechanically. Would eating maggots a) turn a human into a whampire if they have potential, b) prevent the transition by sating the hunger enough that it won't rouse when in the presence of sufficient lust / despair / whatever, or c) make the transition controllable?

And how different / special would a vampire be if their demon never had the metaphysical weight labeled "you are a murderer" over their head?

Speaking of, MMP's interactions with half-reds is also an interesting topic, mechanically.

Is that a thing in WoD? I don't recall anything of the sort in DF, except for instances of Human practitioners killing mortals with magic.

Molly is not sure what would happen if you did that, it is not something Usum or any of her memories relate to, you'd just have to try.

I think he is referring to handing out nutritious maggots to white court scions whose hunger is not properly awake. They would get the full metaphysical powers of a well fed Hunger Demon without having to kill anyone.
Random Whampire: "Hmm...eat magic maggots or commit death by snu snu?"

Thomas: NOM NOM NOM

Depends on edition, but sometimes yes. Several WoD supernaturals had a ten-point scale named Humanity, Integrity, Morality, or similar, which goes down when you sin or spend time without human contact, but can be bought up again with experience. Having the stat at a high rating provides extra dice to resist stress and mental influence (vaguely similar to Willpower), low rating gives penalties to interacting with humans (which the creature then sees as merely food, pawns, etc).

The wonderful decision to give "being good" mechanical advantages and "being evil" disatvantages.

At least the Paths kinda balance that out for Vampires.
