Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Seems like this might be something we might be better off getting started sooner rather than later. The quicker we get the ball rolling, the faster we'll start making money.

[X] Starting up, you have an assistant and an idea, not to help actually set this thing in motion, not just the paperwork but actually getting (or making) some machines that look like they could make diamonds. Also includes making more diamonds.

So she did not ask all the questions?

She asked one of the categories, others will be woven throughout the turn so that I do not drop 20K exposition on your guys which not be good for pacing.

I understood it like that: evolution happened. The primordial soup, abiogenesis and everything. But there were "Miracles in small things, patterns in the chaos, footprints in the dirt" set up so it was humans that evolved. And it was setup by someone aiming at recreating "what was". Possibly a survivor of the previous ages.

Also, Aztecs got a lot of things right, cosmologically speaking, and we probably want to kick some Red Court vampires out of ancient ruins and talk to some aztec deities, some of whom might or might not be Dragon Kings.

There may not have been any intentionality behind life assuming patterns that had been worn into reality by Creation. The divine commentary may just have been that, rather than a command. The mention of footprints makes it sound to me that this is something that happened 'naturally' rather than as a result of divine planning.

Could be, though I thought that the footprint comment was about angels intervening.

Still, "All Of This Has Happened Before And Will Happen Again" vibes are strong.

And the interesting part of Aztec myths is that different deities created humans in different ages. If they were basically right, then White God is only the latest in the line of creation deities. The line that might or might not start with Theion and co.

NGL this provokes an intense desire in me to just rush proper combat build so we could go beat up Red King like a pinata for all that delicious delicious aztec lore.

At the very least if Changes happens, we definitely should take advantage of the situation and take supernatural control over the area. The lore compels us.

Definitely one of the most interesting updates we have ever gotten. I wonder if we can find a focus to use the crown on to ask about the last cycle. Theoretically, there being a cycle means anything we find should only belong to now, but maybe we can find something old enough to work. Alternatively, we can pull up a picture of ancient Aztec ruins and use that, although I feel we might get a better vision actually being on site.

Now that we have all of those coordinates for the locations of life throughout the universe, could we conceivably reach some of them using the NeverNever as a shortcut?

If possible, it seems like something that would require us to delve incredibly deep into the NeverNever, so the danger would probably be appropriately outrageous. A long-term stretch goal if there ever was one, years from now when we're powerful enough to want to explore a bit further afield than our own cosmic backyard.

Even at the current through-pick-up-all-utility-charms-before-combat-set we'll be in a state to go solo Red King's court far before the point Changes happen canonically in the timeline.

According to Butcher NeverNever extends only as far as the moon, sadly, if I recall correctly. This raises a question of whether there are separate NeverNevers for each alien race. Still, this is genuinely fun. We could probably seed the coordinates into SETI...

I would assume there are multiple NeverNever instances, one associated with each magically active planet that houses intelligent life of some sort. Even if this is the case, there's no telling if it's possible to travel from one instance to another. Would be neat, though.

Too bad each set of coordinates can only be used once as a focus for a Crown question. Should still be enough to learn if the destination is home to technologically advanced life capable of sending and receiving radio signals.

fairly sure there's a comment about why earth is basically the center of the universe and butcher says that this earth is the center of this universe. Things shaped differently and all throughout different universes so good chances aliens or at least scifi aliens just don't exist in this dimension.

Not that this maters at all for the quest given dp doesn't like themultiverse stuff.

That would probably just make scientists go crazy when they realize there is more order in the background cosmic radiation at those directions but not enough to decode it.

The question about SETI already did that.

Did it? I though we just got coordinates for all life-bearing worlds, not merely those capable of sending/receiving radio signals?

As someone who has spoken at length about letting Rosie know that we'd be in a position to help support her if needed to get her out of from the control of her mother and stepdad (her mum wanted her to get an abortion and, iirc, said that she would not support Rosie if she kept it) I really want to get the cash thing set up before doing Rosie actins incase her circumstances come up in her action.

Similarly, I want to get the cash action set up before doing the Porter actions, as it will let us know what we might have available to meet the needs of the ghouls working for us if that stuff pops up during said action.

Ok, idle idea, not given a huge amount of thought to this; but I was reading the arguments for and against the diamond mine/factory options, and one of the things mentioned was that our lack of electricity usage might tip people off to our process being weird.

This would depend on Thomas' advice on what state is best to best our startup/'factory' in, but if he suggests Illinois (i.e. Chicago) then what about buying a property directly above the Last Station and running a powerline down through the factory to the people living there?
(It would of course be designed such that the powerline can be 'plugged out' at the surface (the connection/socket would be under false concrete flooring) and plugged into the 'diamond machine' in the event of inspection.
Or heck, the 'diamond machine' just sits over the bit where the powerline starts to turn straight down :) )

The question was 'find what this organization seeks'. SETI seeks radio signals from advanced technological civilizations (that use radio). The list is likely not complete, but it's pretty certain this is already the restricted set of 'can and uses radio signals' and excludes 'can't use radio signals' and 'doesn't want to use/doesn't use radio signals but could'.
