AoE effect vs. targeted effect. With AoE effects, like Demonic Primacy of Essence, it can be argued that we are not targeting Mab, but it's that she entered the field of effect on her own. With Naked Wicked Souls, we are making a deliberate attack on Mab/s privacy. It's something to consider.
Strongly disagree.
You're basically asserting that using the Sight, or a soulgaze, on Mab would count as an attack.
Barring QM adjudication otherwise, I would discount that as a consideration.
If you look at
10 most expensive knives in google, you'll see that modern knives go for as much as 2 million. Market size is hard to find (or at least I wasn't able to do so), admitedly, but you have to understand that
high end knives, swords, etc, are, essentially, a type of masculine jewelry. There's a large, if not particularly publizied market there, same as with custom firearms.
Now, I am not saying that jewelry isn't more profitable. It probably is (but only if we start passing our jewels as natural, which I have moral qualms about). But that's all it is - profitable. At least melee weapons can be used when needed.
Please do not take it as me opposing making jewelry, at least in some quantities.
Thats only a thing for very particular subcultures, none of which are in the Middle East, where conspicuous consumption for men leans towards cars, yachts, camels and falcons. And even they would balk at those prices.
Look at the list you presented.
All of them are there because of brand name, who owned them, or their antiquity. Nothing about quality.
And none of them move any volume; those prices are generally for one-offs or low volume items.
The most expensive is a four hundred year old Indian historical artifact, the second most expensive is a commission by some Japanese businessman with more money than sense, the third is a two hundred year old Chinese historical artifact, the fourth is a knife that used to belong to Teddy Roosevelt, fifth was Anthony Bourdain's cooking knife.
Sixth is a kitchen knife with diamonds in it, seventh is another historical artifact, this time Russian.
Notice the theme?
Its who owned them, not who made them, with some price inflation for gaudy use of jewels and precious metal inlay.
Off the shelf prices for top quality knives? Right there in the page:
His knife, made by American-based swordsmith Bob Kramer, is considered one of the best knives in the world, forged in Kramer's personal workshop. Kramer – a personal friend of Bourdain's – produces knives that are considerably cheaper than the ones sold at auction, with his standard knives going for between $4,000 and $6,000.
Thats the price range for a quality modern knife handmade by a well-known smith.
And they dont move all that much volume either.
This is very different from jewelry, where there are relatively objective valuations for gemstones, and a global market of tens of millions, from middle class Westerners to 0.0001 percenters. From poor people who scrimped and saved to splurge on four figures worth of jewelry, to ballers with their own personal jewelers showing up with a selection every month.
If a gemstone is too expensive for a single buyer, it will get cut up into pieces and can be sold to multiple people.
Because lets be clear about the value proposition here.
A days labor produced 5x diamonds that are likely to go for 50k after taxes.
If we do that once a week for a year at the same price, thats a yearly income of 2.6 million dollars.
If we improve the quality to the point where they are indistinguishable from natural diamonds, value goes up even further.
And it can be sold relatively anonymously, without a need to develop a public brand and persona.
Nobody knows the name of the suppliers of major jewelers.
We have zero interest in trying to make cutlery for sale.
As gifts and equipment for friends and allies yes.
For sale? No.
- You guys can totally poke him, just be aware that if you do any hacking into private files he may well be upset. Just because he is Lydia's ally does not mean he is Molly's
- Speaking of Lydia, she has been added as a companion on the front page, the question marks are for her armor which you guys have not had the chance to see in action so far
Cool.
No need for all that; he went to Harvard Law, so his personal details are more or less public.
Anything else just needs Crown lookup.
