Assuming the fence takes a ten percent fee, we're left with just under $40,000.
Classically, its estimated most cars drop in price by half when they leave the parking lot.
Assuming this only drops by a quarter, and is maybe a year old, with a MSRP of 130kish US, we are going to need around a hundred kay on hand to be safe.
40k is a good chunk though.

Since we have TLF now, we can breathe no problem.
Motonic anything is very much out of reach for your generic non-senior council practitioner. And maybe even senior council practitioner. Reality changed a lot since pre-pre-pre-history of E2.
Holden had some very debatable opinions about what Exalts are and aren't allowed to do in modern age, but random nobody reinventing motonic science in a toolshed is very much too much. Sci-Fi flavored Alchemy and Enchanting are realistic limits.
Even that could go pretty far, though.

RATIONALE
This kills several birds with one stone:
1)It gives us a look at Lydia's lawyer, and lets us know if he's on the up and up or if Lydia has to worry about shenanigans while her father is away
2)If he's connected supernaturally, it gives fair warning that she has friends who will take it amiss if any chicanery goes down
3)Its reassurance, assuming he has a genuine interest in Lydia's welfare, that she's running around with people who actually have the ability to look out for her on the magic side
4)Its also a test. If dude, and his firm, are fair and competent, we can use him/them in the future.
If he isnt, we go elsewhere for future business.

Here, the superntural apeople who would be interested are White Council wizards, and Path alchemists and Path enchanters.
Maybe other sorcerers as well. Possibly the svartalfar and other denizens of Faerie who like pretty things.
IIRC Dresden's love potion recipe from Storm Front included both powdered diamond and a torn up $50 bill as components
(If you're wondering why Dresden is always broke, that kind of shit is why)
Mad scientists are not a thing in the canon Dresdenverse, and probably not here either.
And frankly, Molly would probably balk at selling stuff to anyone called mad. Not unless she knew and vetted them personally.

Gard is a bad idea to bring in on this; even if it's mutually profitable, she's not a jeweler. Using her network to solve our problem would probably end with us owing her a favor.
Plus it'd probably immediately go into the hands of someone trying to figure out what we can do, and regardless of how likely that is to work I'd rather not give them the opportunity to try if we don't have to.
As an aside, I wonder if it'd be faster to work through that earth dragon for this sort of thing in the future. Presumably he can source precious earth adjacent materials, and if we're lucky we might be able to pay him like a summon and hand over somenuclear hand grenades motes of essence instead of spending our limited actions.

Because Gard doesn't really need the cash, and is involved in a completely different sort of business besides.
Any reasonable cut from a deal grossing in the low tens of thousands of dollars is basically peanuts to an immortal Valkyrie turned mercenary.
It's like having the card for an officer at a major company who has connections to a third party you want to do business with. if you ask to borrow their networking they're going to expect consideration in turn, even if they make some money on it.
