Soul Gems is "just" about Magical Girls having their souls separated from their bodies, not about them turning into Witches. That's what won in the previous plan, but for such an important decision I wanted to make it an explicit vote.

We are all monsters here in this house. And since they all just went "power of friendship" on X, we will get our Motherly Vengeance on them and make them feel the embarrassment of worrying too much about one's self too.

It didn't say that we have to choose one or the other.

I'm all for shoring up Sayaka if she's willing. My only concern is if lobotomy temporarily unveils our abnormality form to outside viewers. But people don't seem to automatically take sanity damage from seeing abnormalities in this quest and the girls have been rather accepting of our nature.

As for lichbomb, it's what we voted for. The universe has given no in-character signs to turn back, and I'll be damned if we get discouraged by random "meta" doubts at this point!

EDIT 3: @Eternal_0bserver had an even better edit to the prior two edits, so now I'm changing a THIRD TIME! Power of 3, 3's a charm anyone?? Maybe????

Note: this is only possible with the Lich Bomb.

The WITCH BOMB requires an entirely different mindset. And honestly speaking, if we unveil the witch bomb to them at this point, their trust in us could be shaken too if viewed in the context of a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.

My plan was made to be a compromise of sorts between telling and not telling, and so I'll be following through here without good arguments otherwise
Regarding the operation, isn't this literally an opportunity that dropped in our lap? We did want to figure out what exactly goes on during Lobotomy from an external perspective, let's find out next.

Don't quite understand why their trust would be shaken, but completely agree that it's not the time for the witch bomb.

I explained it in the quote.

If they see us as something similar to them, i.e a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, their trust COULD be shaken, not will be. It's not certain.

With the Lich Bomb, it's that they became zombies, but they can still control themselves.

With the Witch Bomb, it's that they are DESTINED to become monsters who will kill people.

Edit: To elaborate more on my point of ticking time bomb, if, with the Witches in mind, they come to the conclusion that X is also something similar that could explode due to some unknown mechanic as she explained earlier, and do harm as she said about how all abnormalities, even if they think it benevolent, do harm.

That is the scenario in which their trust in X will be shaken. It's not 100% that it will happen. It's just a possibility. A dangerous one.

Nevermind, all is now right with the world (Sayaka, you could have just brain-mailed Mami to ask???)


And on another tangent, the Departments were extracted (sounds familiar?) from A's mind, and the Ordeals were apparently fragments (past, present, future) drawn from the Well, some of which were allowed to materialize.
Somehow we can manifest some form of Ordeal here, there's a thought pattern available for this kind of stuff?
Or perhaps can we just try randomly and see what else comes up? Rambling a bit here to see if anything useful comes up

Theres no way to be sure really. I think it's one of those "leave it up to the QM".

Depend how QM sees it, are the MGS Immortal or become witches upon death?
Then I guess it truly it's inevitable, the only saving grace in the you can die of old age but become a witch case, is maybe asking to throw your body in a grinder or something.

...But in the case that you can die if old age and NOT become a witch. Well, something I really wanted to see since discovering the shit ending of Madoka Magica is the girls growing their resolve and going against the system of the incubators, and things like, Mami never falling to despair again thanks to all the people that care for her and she cares for them, Sayaka hardening her resolve in helping or something? And Madoka accepting that she doesn't need to do something grandiose to help people.

Sayaka's issue isn't so much resolve as her character traits driving her towards self-destruction (the "I must throw everything into my ideals, self care/taking a break not allowed" variant), and also to alienate/attack/push away people she doesn't agree with tbh
It's normal, if not good, for people of that age range, but for MGs...

Personally it'd be nice to see a Retired MG, but that's quite difficult to have happen, even in Quests

This is a good vote change, I think. A nice addition to what's already there. Changing vote again.

It would be inconvenient if the purge of Grief put the girls to sleep every time.

@Lepidoptera, I know the update says otherwise, but were there any Exposure increases here? Since X had quite the emotion fluctuation (and possibly some influence on the weather leaking through, depending)

It's not unlikely the sleeping part is simply required to process the changes though, all things being considered (and if this goes through we can get a ballpark idea of the rough real-time used for Lobotomy)
