Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Or we could just set our minions to do most of this while we get some sleep to prepare to take maximum advantage of daylight hours tomorrow. Cyberdevils don't need sleep, after all, and can hack and google just as well without us supervising. They can give us a report when we wake up.
The last three options definitely can. The second one I am not so sure about. What I think we need to learn is "who and what are the pathfinder society?". I mean, "human cultists" is one thing. "fishmen out of Lovecraftian tales" is another. "government running another operation" is the another one yet. All require different approaches.

I did say most. Anything we would be doing with our phone and online we definitely can delegate, and 8 hours of sleep should be enough time for our little hacker cabal to get plenty of information that we can review over breakfast before we go on to our in-person investigations.

[X] Plan recon and delegation
-[X] Do some snooping around Soul's Rest itself
--[X] Pay special attention to whoever else is watching. You know that Red Court is here. Who else is watching?
-[X] Set your digital assistants to try to figure out just who the Red Courts has their hooks in
-[X] Have one of your cyberdevils Look for information about the Pathfinders online
--[X] Are they recruiting? Where do they get their funding from?
-[X] Now that you know Iku Turso has something to do with all this have your cyberdeviles search the family history of known patients at Soul's Rest and see if any of them are Finnish-Americans or know to have taken Dreamless Sleep back in the fifties
--[X] Also look if any of the stuff fit those criteria
-[X] Stunt: You briefly hesitate, glancing around. You can do so much, have so many leads to follow. Then you look at your phone's screen again, and remember - you have minions now. You can delegate. And so you spend next five minutes outlining the tasks to all your summoned devils before moving to go out yourself.

I think we should snoop around a bit, to see who else is watching, if nothing else. We can sleep afterwards. Definitely set at least some of our cyberdevils, like Black Rider, to their tasks.

Our investigation is based on our ability to talk to people.
Going to a place after hours when most people have gone home, we cant get in legally, our Stealth is just about average before stunts, and we have no ability of sensing magic shit or people spying on us down is a bad idea.

We need to play to our strengths.
We arent Dresden and we cant pluck clues out of thin air.
Yet.

These tasks play to our strengths, as we can either double up on one as a teamwork exercise between Molly and her cyberdevil minions. Or have them do one while Molly does the other.

We could literally have the supernatural, or a spy, walking behind us banging a set of steel drums and we wouldnt notice.

Let alone at night, in a strange neighborhood, and with the cops infiltrated by Red Court vampires at a minimum.
And thats assuming the Pathfinders dont own their own faction of the local cops.

So funny part about that. You know how Demonic Primacy of Essence is fluffed as Creatures of Darkness being able to instinctively sense the Infernal's Hellish majesty? Well generally you have to be one to feel the presence, but Michael is not a normal sort of person, even 'just' a person of True Faith, he is a Knight of the Cross, one who hunts the greater evils of the world.

So he can sort of catch the influence of the charm not constantly the way a vampire or other dark being could, but like the shadow of black wings just seen out of the corner of the eye. And also he has seen enough bad guys grovelling to know that if Molly had snapped her fingers she could have just kept the Red Court vampire, which is.... not normal.

My desire to get Mercy in Servitude soon is steadily increasing, tbh. We keep stumbling on Creatures of Darkness, we keep diplomancing creatures of darkness and then... we just let them go to keep prancing around, murdering people.

It is an unsatisfying way of doing things.

I think a Micheal interlude would be neat at some point. He must be pretty conflicted about what is happening to Molly. On the one hand, what father want's his child to go into the incredibly dangerous profession of fighting evil. Especially when that child is still a teenager. And especially when the source of her power is so morally dubious.
At the same time, he has to feel at least a little proud that Molly's first response on gaining power is to help others. It must also feel at least a little nice that his daughter is going to take up his profession after he dies or retires. A force for good in the next generation.

He might actually think that at this point.

But sooner or later he will realise that Molly is extremly unlikely to merely defend the status quo as the Knights usually do.
She will not carry on his work in the next generation, she will change the world in ways that are hard to imagine right now.

True talk. Im not surprised he can feel it; I would expect a lot of supernaturally sensitive people to feel Molly exert Hellish authority, even if it doesnt work on them.

If Michael wasnt a Knight of the Cross, dude would be freaking out bigtime. He has to have interesting talks with his wife and his priest, both of whom are nowhere as knowledgeable as he is, and both of whom will have concerns. And the angels who are more knowledgable arent allowed to talk. I wonder how long before he goes to Harry for insights.

Dude has to be wondering if his most important task atm is guiding his daughter and the alarming new power she has acquired.
He has to be really missing Shiro and his advice.

Mercy in Servitude reduces ingrained drawbacks.
But while you can stop a Rampire needing blood as long as its not using superpowers, or from being vulnerable to sunlight.
You cant stop it/him/her wanting to kill people/being callous towards their lives; thats as much learned behavior as instinct at this point.

And frankly, we dont have a place to stash them yet, nor do we have the funds to do so.
Any plan for paroling CoDs is gated in large part by Essence 3, Resource 5 and our Hell charm.

Ok, that's fair. We do have the crown, however. I would think that we could use it on the building itself, to see who is observing it. We need to find out which factions are involved.

We dont want to burn questions and focus sites early. There's a good chance we're going to need them later.
Especially since we can wait for daytime, walk in and use those social skills to get a tour as people taking a look on behalf of a friend who is interested. No need to name the friend as God and his agents.

Which is why I want to use the building itself as a focus. We need to know who is involved, and we need it badly. Is FBI involved? Are the Librarians of Congress involved? What about Venatori? And there are probably others too who could be involved here. At least some of them would be using observation methods not normally detectable.

Lowhanging fruit. Use our existing skills to narrow the field, then we can use the Crown if necessary.
If we use it on the entire building, and our tour tomorrow morning finds sites of interest we cant access in the nursing home, we've burned that entire focus item.

Mercy in Servitude wasn't given as an option last character upgrade vote. Are we missing some prerequisite?

There are no prerequisites to charms, if you can pay the XP cost you can get it, the reason it was not on the list was that there was a limited amount of space, also I was running kind of late on that update so I mostly copied the default options of the last level up. If you guys have any question about what can be taken as a write in do not hesitate to ask.

-[X]Molly + Cyberdevils cooperating. With or without Lydia.
-[X]STUNT: You look longingly at the door, but your better sense asserts itself. "I think we should probably stay in. Dinner and an early night." You admit grudgingly. "Especially with the Red admitting that they have our vehicle description and license plate on a police watchlist, Dad. "Accidents" " you make air signs in the air "are likelier at night. Especially with the Reds having their hooks in the local PD. Gonna have to look into that." Pulling out your phone and checking for signal strength, you turn to Lydia "Bring a laptop? I have homework, and I could use the help."

REASON
Molly is good at talking to people, intimidating people, interrogating people, organizing people, socializing.
She isnt good at picking up clues out of the ether. See her stat block.
Night at a nursing home has very few people around, and you cant legally get on the grounds after business hours

That is also true for everyone else in her party; as we see when we detected the Rampire, Lydia has a Perception dicepool of 3, and Michael has a Perceptiom dicepool of 4.

Not to mention that we just got told that a significant fraction of the local police department is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Red Court. We dont need to get locked up because some cop caught us snooping around and the local Don decided to try to have a party member detained as leverage.

Play to our strengths.
Turn the cyberdevils loose, give them backup, and see what we can turn up with a dice pool of 12.
If Lydia can help, great. If she cant, have her catch up on TV.

Right now, the most important thing is finding out WHO the Pathfinders are, and what their local links are.
Secondmost important is determining the extent of police infiltration.
But Pathfinders first.

At the very least, why not have our other cyberdevils do other online stuff while we are doing the primary option?
This is the most important thing right now.
I want Molly and the Cyberdevils focused on doing this to maximize our success level; the more successes, the more information.
5 successes or more = Legendary success.

I have edited to clarify the intent.
