Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I do think that speculating about silly stuff we can theoretically get is a fun thought exercise. Poking at mechanics is always fun.

The 7 Best Fog Machines to Create the Creepiest House on the Block

These machines will help transform the atmosphere of your next event with their mystifying mist.
Look at option 2
Key Specs

  • Output: 25,000 cubic feet of fog per minute
  • Tank Size: 2.2 liters
If you're in search of a professional-grade fog machine but don't want to drop several hundred dollars, this option from Qizin is worth a look. It's equipped with a bigger-than-average 2.2-liter tank, meaning it can be used continuously for 4 hours and will make your space super smoky.

Better yet, it heats up in less than 5 minutes and has an impressive output distance of 23 feet, so it'll add some creepy ambiance quickly.
The Qizin can be controlled with a wired remote control that's attached to the unit or with a separate wireless controller. If you don't want to fuss with a controller, there's a red button on its center you can push to enable its automatic setting.

We appreciate that the fog machine features overheating protection, so you can feel confident that it's safe to use. Lastly, this is also one of the few options that is backed by a 100%-satisfaction, money-back guarantee.
2 liters of water, output at 25,000 cubic feet per minute.
If Molly ever has to storm that night club, Im voting for her to build a fog machine powered by a car battery, then load it with holy water from the local Catholic Church and watch the screaming happen.

The tool Charm could probably pull double-duty as a fog machine, I think.

Quick question: while the Fallen obviously don't retain access to their White God charm tree, do they retain enough knowledge to teach them?

You would have to ask them, one way or the other.
Damn that is actually tempting. Usually all deals with the fallen are by default bad deals because all their gifts are poisonous in on way or another, but with charms we could be absolutely certain that the charms are in fact our own and that we are in charge of them.

To make a counterargument:
E2 had several Infernal Charms that were definitly of questionable value for either the PC's personality or the mechanical build.

To name two from the Ebon Dragon and Adorjan, Witness to Darkness imposes a permanent penalty to all actions taken in daylight, which some players consider to outweight its benefits and Murder is Meat makes it impossible to channel Compassion for the benefit of mortals, making their suffering beneath the Infernal's notice.

To say nothing of the Intolerable Burning Truths greatly reducing your mental flexibility on some topics.

So while I would love to learn about some Fallen Angel Charms, I would consider them very carefully before actually internalizing them to the point that we have learned them.
Charms are always a part of yourself after all.

Well at the very least the Denarians aren't likely to care about copyright on their charms. There is nothing that we could possibly do with them that would make their reputation worse.

The idea of gods complaining because we cribbed their powers is amusing. Not our fault they didn't invest in DRM protection for their deific abilities.

Important point - I wasn't talking about fallen angel charms. I was asking about whether fallen angels can teach us proper angel charms. They were normal white god angels at some point. They have perfect memories. Due to their fall, they lost access to their proper white god charms, gaining what is likely some sort of perversion on those themes, like black mirror effect on solar charms. However, maybe they could still get us access to the proper angelic abilities.

They might actually just give us those just for the sake of thumbing their noses at the white god. Although it would be more likely to happen if we were not closely working together with our father.

If we're going to be getting charms from other supernatural beings, I'd vote for the Fey ability to magically enforce promises and debts made to us. It would make situations like negotiating with the Rampires so much less likely to result in backstabbing if we could curse them if they broke the agreement.

One more reason to try and redeem Lasciel. That might well get her to open her charmset to us. Hell, this might even be one of the ways, or at least steps, to redeem her.

Depends on how their fall effected them. Yozi and the Neverborn don't give access to their previous primordial charm trees, they only give access to their new Yozi/Neverborn charm trees. So the fallen might no longer be able to give actual angel charm tree access, only fallen charm tree access. I only have shallow Exalted knowledge so if Malfeas can give access to Theion charm tree then it might be more likely the fallen can do the same with their old charms.

-[X] Release him to carry a message to his leader.
—[X] Establish some basic, stay out of each other's way boundaries. We know he's watching, he knows we know, the usual business. Have Clippy generate a burner email for basic communications, and get whatever our soon to be former minion's address for the same.
    — [X] Place the email in his phone, and take the opportunity to stealthily plant a cyber Devil while doing so.

-[X] Stunt: "What to do with you?" Molly muses aloud, ignoring the poorly hidden agitation of her temporary servant.
—[X] For a moment the wind cuts deeper, and the shadows almost seem to move on their own. As her attention comes to fully rest on the vampire, it freezes like a deer caught in the headlights.
—[X] "I think", Molly says in a bitterly cold voice, "You're going to carry a message for me to your nest"
[X] "Take us to your leader" you command imperiously.
-[X] Go meet this Don Phillipe de Leon. Learn what he knows, and establish boundaries on acceptable tactics during your cooperation, brief as it may be. No harming the innocents, no collateral damage, unless it can't be avoided, stuff like this.

Arc 3 Post 10: Minds of Stone, Eyes of Glass
Minds of Stone, Eyes of Glass

24st of July 2006 A.D.

Quickly you consider and dismiss simply killing the vampire... Andre, even if it might be saving his next victim, that is what, one vampire out of eighteen? Dealing with all of them will require going to the heart of the matter. Going now? You glance back at your dad, hand on the hilt of the Sword looking worried and Lydia fidgeting a little like she is almost going to bounce onto her feet and do.... well you are not entirely sure what she would do, maybe she isn't either. God knows power alone doesn't itself answer questions of what to do, only how.

There's something to be said about striking while the iron is hot, but Usum points out in his usually round about manner that the advice sounds like it is meant for blacksmiths and in this context you do not know anything about the quality of the iron or where the quenching trough might be

"What to do with you?" you ask, the question sounding lot more rhetorical on your lips than in your head.

He is doing a very good impression of a deer in the headlights, or a trembling subject brought before the throne of a despot most high.
How you know what that looks like you are not sure you want to question.

"Phone," you command and he scrambles to obey.

"Y... yes mademoiselle... er... my lady."

First handsome guy to talk to me in French, actually a half bat blood drinking parasite, you think, a joke you are not planning on sharing but which curls your lips into a smile just the same. It is apparently not a very reassuring smile to judge from the vampire almost dropping the phone as he hands it to you.

"What do we want to say to this Don Phillipe?" you ask dad and Lydia casually

Dad thinks for a moment before answering. "A request to simply leave the city is unlikely to be well taken. The best we can hope for is... a truce enforced by staying out of each other's way." You can tell he does not believe you are going to get one and generally speaking you agree, but there is a deeper reason to mess about with this phone than the send the electronic equivalent of 'a strongly worded letter'. Spies come in all shapes and sizes.

Lost 1 Essence -> Now at 8/12

Power hums to the tune of ones and zeroes, in your mind, inside the mechanism of wire and processors and in the dark and claustrophobic realm beyond. The spirit is not particularly well rooted in the silver flip phone, but it is not like you expect this to take more than a week, a few days at most.

Andre's phone bugged for 1 Week

Once all the details are set including a burner email in case the head blood-sucker actually deigns to talk back you hand the phone back to the vaguely shivering figure before you and say: "You will carry a message from me back to your nest."

"Yes my lady," he replies and with that he fades along the shadows of the graveyard, a bit more readily than he should perhaps, though it it is sorcery or mundane skill alone you cannot be sure.

"I think it should be roost," Lydia pipes up after a moment. At your curious look she explains. "They are bats right and bats have roosts, or maybe colonies?"

"They are not actually bats, they are bat-men, bat-people," you counter. "Look they are always called nests when it's vampires."

"Always?" she prompts, walking to the car beside you.

"Sure like in Buffy...."

The conversation on various forms of vampire shows and books carries you all the way into the pickup and halfway to the hotel you are staying in. Dad did not sigh on the way, you choose to believe, the armor is just heavy.

Once you are in the lobby you give a nod to the receptionist's computer, but you feel the power sputtering along the way, like bad transmission in an old time radio. You should be able to take a nice bleach bath inside so you try. again. A day... a day will do.

Lost 2 Essence -> Now at 6/12 Essence

Camera feed secured,
Clippy announces in her auto-tuned voice as you brush your teeth. A rather boring hour and a half later you are refreshed and ready for any nighttime adventuring. For her part Lydia is no less ready to take on eldritch horrors, apparently her inner stores top up not at sunrise but midnight when there is most need for one to guard the rest of the dead.

What do you do next?

[] Sleep, the next stage of your investigation is best done in daytime, all the more so now that you know there are Red Court vampires in the city

[] Do some snooping around Soul's Rest itself

[] With the help of your digital assistants try to figure out just who the Red Courts has their hooks in

[] Look for information about the Pathfinders online

[] Now that you know Iku Turso has something to do with all this search the family history of known patients at Soul's Rest and see if any of them are Finnish-Americans or know to have taken Dreamless Sleep back in the fifties

[] Write in

Michael: "Everyone said raising teenagers would be an adventure of a different sort, but I don't think this is what they had in mind."

For what it is worth Lydia seems to be entirely untroubled by it.
Lydia, daughter and heiress of Arawn the God of Death, does not count.

[X] Look for information about the Pathfinders online

We don't need to know what exactly their plan is.
We just need to know what they are (practicioners or some kind of fully supernatural beings) to prepare for stopping them violents from continuing their plans.
In so far the plan to set fire to Soul's Rest by the vamps is a good one, we just want to do it without killing a bunch of old people.

Or we could just set our minions to do most of this while we get some sleep to prepare to take maximum advantage of daylight hours tomorrow. Cyberdevils don't need sleep, after all, and can hack and google just as well without us supervising. They can give us a report when we wake up.

@DragonParadox, what does Michael feel like the next course of action should be?

We might have our own ideas, but he's the one with the Sword and divine guidance. At the very least, he should be able to provide valuable insights, unless all he's getting from Upstairs are hints to give us free reign.

He is fine with looking in on Soul's Rest, though he would not want to attack tonight.. If you want to sleep in, or stay in and investigate online... well that is your choice, it's not like he is going to check in to make sure you are sleeping or something.
