Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I am against any Hell build that does not have the Heavenly trait. That is something that Molly would want her realm to have.

Size Large (Cost: 1 point
Accessible Terrain (Cost: None)
Heavenly (Cost: 2 point)
Human Populace (Cost: None)
Overpopulated (Cost: None; gain 1 point)
Resident Devils (Cost: 1 point):
Advanced Social structure (Cost: None)
Advanced tech (Cost: 2 points)

Good starting sized and combing Human and Devils with advanced tech. Overpopulated is disadvantage at first glance, but can be flipped into an advantage. With the overpopulation we can immediately lanuch massive assaults on some of the YamaKings realms. Kill the YamaKings and take their realms and incorporate them into our own. This solves the overpopulation issues, and gains us the loyalty of the natives, by fixing their issues. We have to just have pre-selected a number of realms to assault and take over, when we build the place. With the overpopulation issues fixed the kingdom unlocks massive amounts of resources to utilize with advanced tech.
I was in that camp at first too, but really it isn't necessary to make a hell that's excellent to live in.

In some ways adding it makes it more difficult to balance out the other features to make stable and defensible in the context of the rest of the setting.

Also, I think there's something contradictory in the idea of an overpopulated heaven that needs to launch brutal conquests to expand and sustain itself. Might be interesting as a deconstruction piece, but I wouldn't exactly call it heavenly.

I'm unsure we can even conventionally beat any of the Yama kings like they all seem firmly essence 5 or above in terms of threat right?

By the time we actually had a hell to work with I'd be less concerned about that and more about the particulars of how we'd occupy territory.

Digesting a conquest like that is something pretty resource intense on a few levels.

If we were actually going to do it I'd prefer if it was because the hells are awful and not because we're riding the edge of a societal problem that needs blood and conquest to stave off.

A changling, a demigod and a infernal exalt walk into a bar.
I was actually thinking in the context of Lydia being very maybe an Exigent Exalted, which would definitely give Mab ideas.

No, I don't even know if it works that way for Fae. But if anyone would have the power in setting to pull it off it's Mab. And can you imagine a Winter Exigent Exalted?

Clarification, what is the scale of a 2CD/3CD? Asking because I do not know the scale of power that precisely represents.
A 3CD is a force of nature to be carefully navigated or avoided.
World ending threats based on their own personal power, before you begin to count the power of the minions they commanded.
Canon Exalted 3CDs were entities with names like The Green Sun and The End of All Wisdom.

Mab can personally, if unopposed, bring on an ice age to kill the world's population.
Thats the level of power that an Exalted 3CD wields, minimum, if unleashed from Malfeas.
You bring armies of Exalts to fight them if at all necessary; preferably you avoid a fight.

A 2CD is at a minimum lifethreatening fight for an experienced Exalt just one on one without calling on any minions it has, and 2CDs like Octavian lead armies of demons.
They can lay waste to cities and shit, but they arent going to end the world in an afternoon.

Also, Molly is not a conquistador.
And is probably a lot more interested in living a life in the Real World than leading conquests out in the Spirit World, and running into the political and magical consequences thereof.

Eh, I'm not interested in invading places just for the sake of it, but I wouldn't count the spirit world as inferior to the mortal one.

There's a lot of interesting stuff to be done there, and it's where the highest end of the setting plays.

I at least would enjoy exploring it, and trying to establish a place for our soul-world's society in relation to everyone else.

Inferior no. Superior no.
Because I do not see a situation where Molly has accumulated the personal and corporate power to invade and conquer other Hells, and then prioritize waging a war of conquest in the Spirit World(s) while the Red Court is right there in Central America.

Molly is a relatively normal teenage girl, not a crusader.
Lots of lower hanging fruit if she suddenly decided to champion a Cause.

QUESTION

Is that supposed to be Avatar, or Totem?
Because I went looking at the M20 sourcebook, and Totem seems to be a better fit than Avatar.
Not that it really matters, because she's an NPC. Still thought you might appreciate me raising the topic.
Totem definitly seems to fit better.
Both fluff-wise and mechanically, as Lydia is not a Mage to profit from Quintessence.
Though it might be changed to an additional point of Essence, which would make a bit of a difference on her terrestrial-tier Essence-tank.

She a Dresden Mage with Scion boosts. That is pretty good, untrained scions can hit senior WC level having never trained in magic.

IIRC there was an example used by one of the writers at one point; Mount Olympus as a Primordial and the Olympians as their Third Circle Demons.
Also, to expand on Ligier; he is one of the best craftsmen in the entire Exalted setting and created a sword that lets him count as an Army instead of an Individual for the purpose of combat.
edit:
Ligier is also an astonishingly bad example, being a Fetich.

It's hard to tell because they are different settings, but I would put 3CD up their with the most powerful gods of DF, assuming we are setting the settings to rough parity which seems to be the case. Each 3CD will have a core area of focus where they are essentially best in the world (if the 3CD is a warrior, few things in the world can match it in combat), but will also have extensive talents outside that area.

A 2CD is going to be significantly weaker, probably winter lady at low end to winter queen at high end. Within their area of expertise they can usually match a 3CD *out* of it's area of expertise. They also often have a useful weird trick which gives the players a reason to summon them such as eating secrets or something.

Looking at them I think totem fits better than Avatar yeah. I do like how the fluff from avatar goes with it, but Totem is the clearest mechanical description for the kind of Guardian Angel/advice giver I am thinking of.

Based on what we've seen in the books, Ligier would obliterate Mab in personal combat without even realising she was there. She'd just be collateral damage.

Mab is a strategic threat, but her showing in personal combat is well below a combat focused dragon blooded, a particularly strong enlightened mortal could probably meet her on equal terms.
