Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

That would cost us 1 Essence and Willpower.
I don't think that's worth it this fight.
Yeah. I think we shouldn't spend more than 2 essence between now and the first fight then no more than 3 during it, preferably 2 or less. That way we come into the final fight with 4-5 essence.
Its not just a Molly consideration.
Its a consideration about her father and Gard. Neither of them heal like she does, and if they take significant damage we're down a combatant.

False economy.
Better to spend 1 more Essence now to reduce risk of injury to our allies by entering through an unexpected route, than to risk having them take damage and we have to deal with the later combats while down a fighter.

Would it? TTC is not strictly limited by time:
By spending 1 Essence or 1 Willpower, she can manifest whatever tools she needs for as long as she works uninterrupted on her project, as well.
The door is probably a separate project, but it could all well be counted as "tools to free Cindy", i.e. one project. @DragonParadox would cutting the door open cost us addition essence?

With luck and Gard and dad's help we can go through the humans without spending Essence.
Particularly if we could get our hands on a flashbang.

For the ghouls we might want either melee excellence or flare Anima and set our sword on hellfire in an attempt to scare them away.
Since it's 1 essence either way we'd probably be better off direct activating TA using rage recast, so that we don't have to deal with the banner after the fact.

You're not wrong, but we still need to at least try to keep to an essence budget if we can. If we drop to 3 then we basically only have a single essence to spend before we have to choose between activating charms and being able to use Shintai.

Only way around that is to somehow take a bleach bath in the back of Gard's truck between fights or ask Michael to whisper a secret to us in the back seat. Both of which I'm reluctant to do with Marcone's goons sitting right there to take notes.

Why not spend willpower instead? We don't need more than a single extra point from it, so it doesn't seem like a huge risk.

@DragonParadox, you have this update as 29 and the last as 30. And this isn't the only mess-up with numbering posts this arc. You might want to consider going back manually and re-numbering the whole arc.

Budget is good. But false economy is something to guard against.

We currently have 9 Essence and 7WP.
We need 2 Essence and 2 WP for activating shintai, and say 2 Essence for 2x Melee Excellencies against Kattrin.
That leaves us a budget of 5 Essence and 5WP in the interim.

Im reasonably sure we're going to stumble across a secret or two between the store and the prison cell to trigger Essence regen.
If only because we're about to go into Undertown for the very first time, against a bunch of ghouls, then go through a warded door and brave a ghost or two.

And Im reasonably sure that rescuing Cindy will gain us 1 WP by ExWoD rules(acting to support or affirm an Intimacy, in this case both Dresden(Crush) and Michael(Love) )

Its also worth keeping the timeline in mind.
We finished talking with Gard around 1PM. Assuming 30 minutes transit time, it should be around 1.30 PM now.
Count another 30 minutes for preptime, breach and extraction.

This should be done by 2 PM unless stuff goes egregiously wrong.
Leaving us another six hours in the day before sunset.
We should also have warning from Ride if Kattrin attempts to use her car to go anywhere. Unless she uses a cab.

EDIT
1) Just occurred to me that Tool Constructs might be useful for breaching the wall of Cindy's cell.
Avoid the door.

@DragonParadox
QUESTION
1)How many estimated thralls in the tattoo parlor? What are they armed with, handguns or longarms, or a mix of both? Anything else Molly see?
2)Do we have an estimate on ghoul numbers? Are any armed? Most tend to melee, but I remember Corpsetaker's valet used shuriken

  1. There are six of them and they are armed with shotguns and semiautomatics
  2. As for the ghouls these do not seem to be armed with anything besides their claws and a bad attitude but there are thirteen of them

Will look later yeah, it's past midnight right now.

Unfortunately not that is a bit too conceptual for a crafting charm. Projects for it imply making something, even if that thing is an expected new door.

If nothing else "what was the first magical tattoo" or "what is the most powerful magical tattoo in existence" or something like this might work. Some other random items could work as a focus. Like, check some poison on the way, and ask "what is the most powerful magical poison out there".

Also, and this is totally stupid: @DragonParadox , our essence recovery rules say:
Once per scene The Infernal may replenish two points of Essence whenever she learns secretive or forbidden lore of the supernatural world, or binds an unwholesome being into her service.
By the underlined text of the rule and how you made HMP work, HMP should be net positive for essence. But this is clearly an exploit / system mechanics issue. It should probably be corrected.

I think Kat is going to be a bit more difficult to pin than that. Fair enough point on the rest though.

Do we really need the tool charm to get through the wall of a run down building in the undercity? At strength 4 Molly should be able to hack her way through the wall with her effectively unbreakable sword if she doesn't have to worry about being stealthy about it.

Just imagine the look on Harry's face when we reveal the infinite demon glitch to him though. :V

we have ghouls as a focus we can ask what the origin of ghouls is in quest. They've been around for probably at least 5000 years and their creation was probably something horrible. That or we can ask for a cure to ghoulhood not that we're likely to be able to do anything with said knowledge.

Not sure if we can get a cure, but it's worth a try.

Cyberdemons might qualify for refugee status rather than 'unwholesome being', since we're rescuing them from what amounts to Electronic Hell. Since Clippy is female, she was clearly a damsel in distress, and that automatically supersedes demonhood. 🧐

Well I mean a cure would definitely exist it might be well beyond our power or understanding though. The mothers have cures and not yet released diseases just on a stand for example. The way to cure them could be something we could do, it could be a ritual far beyond our understanding, it could be chopping an angel into pieces and siphoning their essence into distilled healing bits.
