Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

@DragonParadox tell us now if your going to tack on calling the white council if just calling father forthil wins. You've been playing silly games with the tally for much of this quest and you should start telling us this stuff before the vote closes in 30 minutes.

That said.

Holy fuck you guys. Don't call the white council? You do remember they regularly murder children right? What do you think their reaction here is going to be.

I think he's been pretty consistent with only using the actual winning vote so far? At least I can't think of any examples where similar votes with different assets were used together or in place of one another?

Not really. The two "What's the answer worth to you?" options are different votes. That's how it's been handled so far, at least for previous votes when there were similar votes with different adders included.

Hmm... it does not seem to be a stunt so much as an addition with the intent to change the direction of the conversation so... yeah OK I guessed has it. Vote closed.

I think we might have to clarify voting rules and put it in the front page though.

Vote closed.

I hope they shut down the office, kill anyone who knows too much and remove the records from existance.

[X] Go to Father Forthil like your dad suggested, see if there is anything he can do for Harry
-[X] Ask if the white council can be contacted ASAP!

Remember, any confrontation between White Council and pretty much anyone else helps Red Court.
So does taking a regional commander off the board and keeping him from contacting them.

They need to know as soon as possible so they can shift their command structure around before the next crisis.

These guys' desire to play biggest fish in the pond instead of being more subtle is going to get people killed.

@Artemis1992 Appreciate the sentiment, but that's exactly what the red court is hoping to get from this. As little as strategic objectives mean when we're angry.

Also we could do that much faster than the white council... probably. Would wanna get that evidence obliterating Kakuri charm though.

Man the cup suddenly runneth over with faith in the white council huh?

Where'd all the cynicism go?

This isn't even a vote I particularly care about, but it is a funny attitude shift.

[X] Mab. Mab. Mab.

And then there were twooo...

McCoy has an excellent track-record in removing problems.
Up to and including volcanic solutions.

I don't trust the WC to act morally in most cases, but I trust them to protect their own.

The only faith I have in the White Council, at least in regards to this situation, is that there is a high chance they'll decide to do something drastic. That's kinda a wizard specialty, and they can make it look like an accident or a coincidence, too. Especially Ebeneezer...

It's why I would rather threaten to contact them, in hopes of securing Harry's release, before we actually make that call.

Look. The White Council is going to assume this is a Red Court ploy and overreact. We know this.

The Church might be more able to help - if only because the FBI stumbling onto the masquerade is something they've probably dealt with similar cases of in other places. A Cardinal calling up the FBI to explain the basics of what's going on could go a long way, but they might not be prepared to get involved. Bailing out a Wizard from what looks to be a Red Court scheme looks a lot like taking a side in the war.

Clearly, the best option is to summon Mab and barter with her for Dresden's safety.

(Seriously though, can we please try diplomacy?)

If the White council does something too drastic that could mean the Library of Congress's people get involved and they are bad news. Lara Raith is wary of them and the signatories of the Unseelie accords in general consider them to be a significant threat.

So basically

"Mccoy will fix it with his wizard muscles." Thats hilarious.

You know other people are on the white council right?

Maybe you could try and contact him?

But you want to see scorched earth. So getting the black council guy involved will probably help with that.

Edit:
@OctarineShrike catastrophe is the goal of this vote.

They are capable of subtlety; most wizards prefer it over acting like Dresden.

My thought is that they'll take action, but not something like knocking over the facility they're keeping him in.

The council has a diplomatic arm, which is much less costly and messy to use than force.

The FBI's problem here, and the reason that they're so ignorant, is that they seem to be refusing to engage unless they hold all the cards. Putting them in a situation where they get a proper liaison would help break that dangerous rut, and get them vital information about how the world works.

Edit:
@FriedIce diplomacy is good, but opening by placing them at the advantage is a bad play.

Nothing we've seen implies they'll do anything but exploit it.

OK I'm going to make a rule clear
  1. If something is a stunt, that is a means of doing something then the favored stunt is chosen
  2. If something is an addition to the vote that significantly changes what you do uses other resources or closes off options, like calling the While Council that is going to need a majority
@Goldfish heads up on that.

That will be very disappointing for those who were hoping to see a second Salem witch trials then. Like that leech from the black council.

@DragonParadox okay. I recommend making it clear what is and isn't a stunt explicitly.
