Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Right, so you know that anti-scrying Charm that I said I would make back then?

Well here it is:
Looming Behemoth Superimposition (???)
To gaze upon an Infernal is to witness the return of a conquering warlord, but to peer inside of her mind is to behold heresy most foul. The world shudders as the Leviathan adorned in Brass Crowns makes its presence known, then it wails in fear and despair.
System: Any divination, mind-reading or other similar methods of any means that try to intuit and scry the Infernal automatically succeed. But instead of information or insight on how to best defeat their target, an unsettling feeling of being under the shadow of a slavering predator would greet them and a single result foretelling them of one thing: THE MONSTER IS HERE.
I don't know whether to put it under Lanka, The Hell of Being Skinned Alive or Kakuri. That and what dots this Charm should be.

Sight Beyond Reckoning

As you peer into the depths of the Crown that blazes before you and see ten thousand, thousand eyes staring back like the blossoms of some alien tree on branches of green flame and those you take up, resolute. Through them all things can be seen, you know as surely as you know your own name. If I'm gonna be damned then it will damn well be with my eyes wide open and I will never, never do anything like what I did to Rosie out of ignorance.

Though your hands are still nailed to the tree with shards of ice you do not need them for this. By will alone you raise the crown until it is above your head, looking down at you, not with many eyes, but a single great lidless eye waiting to serve. The part of you that is still the little girl who used to smuggle a dogeared copy to Fellowship to camp so you could read it 'authentically' wonders: Am I Sauron now?

Just as the crown lays on your headless fire envelops you, you make a sound such as you do not imagine these halls have ever heard from their prisoners, you giggled. The power flows into you like wine, like ice and fire, like the song and shadow of great things long past. Great things that will be again, Usum assures you and you nod as you look upon the Scarecrow. As you look with the eyes of blooming power all-around at the thing that had kidnapped you, the thing that had tortured you that in its twisted way had been your first teacher in matters of magic... and you see that it is hollow, an old lie that had tricked itself into thinking that it was true, and you see that it is weak as the kindling it had chosen to take for its shape. The tree cannot hold you, you are not the weak stupid little girl who was dragged in here who knows how long ago, the fetch cannot hunt you, at least no more than the moth hunts the flame.

Character Sheet so far

OOC: I am pretty new to the system, but I thought I would point out some fun combinations, like getting the wish spell early with anima control so that you can walk around granting wishes like a guardian angel without flaring into demonic fire. Another Option exorcising the Fallen. Yes, that will work even if the Denarian is unwilling to let go, exaltation says 'fuck your paradigm, Holy Theion says so' as long as you make the roles. Proper link to the book this time.
I have tried to correct some grammar issues, and hope it is satisfactory.
What are the common themes of the charms of each hell because usually things like this separate things thematically
Well, here's the thing. Since I haven't fully read the Thousand Hells supplement, I can say that I really don't know.

I will try and complete reading it tomorrow to make a better judgement. Or later on today... (1:19 AM).

So I know the charms have most of the attention, but one thing I want to note about the plan, it had ten willpower, as high as it will go without some kind of unnatural enhancement. That is not to say that willpower 10 people do not exist in the world, they totally do, Dresden even knows some of them... all members of the Senior Council. That is how stubborn Molly will be made by her exaltation :V

For anyone wondering Knights like Michael do not all have willpower 10 but they have the equivalent or more when on the job
To further expand upon this. Us being high tier. We are going to seem more like a thing of the old world or ancient terror to most people.

Between cold wind and unsettling presence our social roles to interact with mortals have an average difficulty of 9.

We need a 9 or better on a d10 to successfully talk to normal people. We must be incredibly frightening, even without the demonic transformation.

Huh, Eerie Presence + Cold Breeze + Without Honor are actually a good mix with each other. They all achieved a sense of thematic symmetry.

And the worst part is that I did not planned this at all. Heat of my seat, and all...

I mean, I can try and replace Cold Breeze or Eerie Presence with something else. If that's what you want for social stuff.

We have certainly been touched by winter.

Indeed Mab may very well try to claim us. We are clearly a thing of darkness and cold.

Theres just the little touch of nuclear sun fire, but nobodies perfect.

Edit:
Oh no I dont mind. Just an observation. Were terrifying. For better and worse.

If there was one charm like I'd import. It would be entirely embarcing your adjuant and have them become your soul. It was a different form of heretical charms where you don't oust them but make them your fetch soul. It was a really cool homebrew line. There is also another form where you oust the demon and have a fetch soul take it's place.

Demon world body is sort of in here?

Book of Scorpion? Yeah, I know that one. Problem is that we can't achieve Triumphant Howl of the Devil-Tiger to become a nascent Primordial. At least not now. Wait until we're Essence 5 and who knows...

Okay, found my copy of the Revised Edition, just checking, but do we have total freedom? Or do we have to have Certain Charms no matter what? (I notice Cracked Cell Circumvention exists in literally every option on the first page, which sort of makes sense, we're still stuck)

You have total freedom, that said keep in mind where you are, you need to do three things:
  1. Rip yourself off the ice tree
  2. Defeat the Fetch, either alone or with the help of Harry and Charity
  3. Get out of Arctis Tor
Cracked Cell Circumvention is a single dot charm that helps with points 1 and 3 hence why it is there, but that is not to say there aren't other combinations out there that would do the job. If you have an idea feel free to post I am curious to see what people come up with.

Okay, understood.

And final question, we're picking out Merits and Charms right now?

Sorry to bug you about this again, but would you mind clarify on the wizard's sight stuff?

If we need to buy dots in a background or something to keep it I want to post a plan that has it so we don't lose the ability.

Yes, everything that has not already be settled. I want to have a full sheet when we get to the vote 'what do you do about the evil fey spirit?' The only potential exceptions are things you would not use in Arctis Tor, like say allies; You could just put in generic Allies ••••• and we can settle what that would be when you are back in the mortal world.

Kay, got it, please wait warmly until it's ready.

You do not need to buy anything, how you interact with the magic of the later world will be a thing you discover organically in play which may eventually involve spending XP.

I assume if we want to make a familiar we could do it even with eerie presence since I doubt a puppy could outrun us (if it could we'd probably want it all the more) and would it still be scared of us after bonding it?

A familiar even if it is just a single dot regular animal will trust you enough to overcome any flaws. If you go for the max dot magical familiar they might even mirror some of them in a cosmetic way, like say a dog with a coat eternally covered in frost that had a particular love of winter

Hellhound bound to us within view of the elephants foot in the heart of the Chernobyl power plant resulting in a doggo covered in soft fur that is a physical manifestation of that spicy green fire that stirs in the hearts of neutron stars, a blight and infection that turns everything that touches it(the strange matter) into more of itself or y'know just regular old physical fur that also just happens to be solid nuclear fire

The only name for such a glowingly good boy is clearly Geiger.

[X] Plan: When did my life become a YA Action-Horror story?
-[X] Key Charm Categories: Lanka, the Demon City of the Rakshasas, The Wicked City
-[X] CHARMS
--[X] Key to the Kingdom (*)
--[X] Cracked Cell Circumvention (*)
--[X] Without Honor, Without Hope (*)
--[X] Ephemeral Abrasion Curse (*)
--[X] Green Sun Nimbus Flare (***)
--[X] Impervious Primacy Mantle (***) (9 Freebies)
--[X] Tool Transcending Constructs (*) (3 Freebies)
---[X] A comprehensive set of tools for a baby Infernal with ambitions towards both violence and sussing out of secrets. Cracked Cell Circumvention to help escape bothersome scenarios, Without Honor, Without Hope to resist the environment, and Ephemeral Abrasion Curse to give an exit strategy no matter where we should be. Green Sun Nimbus Flare allows for a fearsome stick to wave in the face of Unpleasantries, and Impervious Primacy Mantle ensures that no force in existence can violate Molly's Free Will, and this is very, very important a thing to have given everything else on the table here and our Urge--Nemesis for instance can go fuck itself despite otherwise being a nearly limitless force of corruption, Tool Transcending Constructs is also included, to aid us in taking advantage of our Crafts score. This is expensive at 12 Freebies to get the whole package, but is an excellent foundation to grow on further--and we will grow on this further, given time
-[X] BACKGROUNDS
--[X] Mentor (*****)
--- While I suggested Michael Carpenter, because 'hey, this is a force of creation twisted to evil... Let's redeem the shit out of them and make them a force of good instead through letting them have context and Good Mentorship' is exactly the kind of Galaxy Brain Move that Uriel's noted for, but reprising the canonical result of 'Molly is foisted off onto Harry and becomes His Problem' is fine too, as I imagine he'd be a similar scale of being. I know a lot of people have been gigabraining about getting Demonic Guide so they can have free access to a form of damage, but I almost feel that's putting the cart before the horse, the most important thing is having a really good story to tell, and optimizing aggressively to make a character as powerful as possible out the gate feels sort of short-sighted from my perspective. Mind you, that's my perspective rather than anything else, but I do like Infernals, and I do like the Dresden Files, and I want to see that clash rather than try to gear towards one side dominating the other at maximum speed
-[X] MERITS/FLAWS
--[X] Brigid's Heir (***) (Infernals are quite literally the heirs of Sorcery, their power alone interfaces with the shit going on, this gives us a way to access Ancient Sorcery--over time without jumping through a few billion hoops first)
--[X] Enemy 1 (*) (You will inevitably give a small but noticeable insult to the Winter Court by way of accidentally plundering one of its treasures and getting out alive, that treasure being the Exaltation you now hold. While so much time has passed that perhaps only Crone Winter might remember the truth behind what was claimed, it does mean you have to deal with cocky Fae who want to try and balance the books until you can make amends--or escalate the conflict)
--[X] Enemy 2 (**) (Of all of the powers in the world, the Denarians are the ones most likely to understand the true gravity of what was unleashed here, and it falling into the hands of the child of a Knight of the Cross is... Troubling. While the Fallen themselves might prefer to prioritize the Exaltation bearer's corruption or destruction at all costs, actually convincing their hosts without getting them interested in why, exactly, they're so Concerned about this and gaining certain inconvenient thoughts in their heads is a trial, leading to the reduced rating in this background compared to what it would be if the Denarians did, in fact, completely puppetmaster their hosts)
-[X] REMAINING FREEBIES
--[X] +3 Willpower (3 Freebies)
---Now, some of you may be asking "Alectai, why are you crazy, we should have Max Willpower! It's cheap!", I point out that Molly is a teenage girl, she hasn't had enough life experiences yet to be an unshakable paragon of Will. The fact she got a large pile out of it from coming into Power is already odd, but she should have a chance to grow into her potential over time instead of immediately being a peer to the Senior Council in terms of steely eyed gaze. It doesn't make sense, and the personality changes that would come from that feel like they would be extreme. I'd prefer to see a more gradual shift to being a reborn Titan than just a switch flipped, you know?
