While I was praising how much we can turn blood into money and I am fine with a little life drain with the giant health pool we are cultivating, can we not immediately go to killing ourselves as option one? I am fine with the theory crafting but I choose this as a safety net, not something to rely too heavily on.

Ok so there's no way we get a big cut on the job considering the gap in skill levels. If we spend all our remaining cash at the workshops we would need at least a 10% cut if we wanted to pay our debts without taking any other jobs, and considering the rank on this job I really think we should avoid doing anything strenuous afterward. If we do get anything I would want to grab something to prevent mind control since Moon is doing something like that.

Yeah, I am up for Adil. She does cause Lily sanity damage just by being near her but now it seems like a different way than Lin. Adil seems... warm? unlike foreboding than before. It will throw Lily's mind for a spin but it does not look like it is on purpose, not anymore.

Well then, an Urban Plague mission for 15 Mil. Sure it's before the split, but that's still going to be a lot of money heading our way if we survive. All the more reason I'm happy to have picked "Walk it off: Death" as our perk. I think we have a good chance of seeing it in action before the mission is over.

This is my tentative plan that involves spending no money cause we don't know if we have enough for anything helpful and again, if those workshops think were desperate we'll get some very tempting trapped offers.

Moon, Sun's Ex-Lover, and the guy who first kicked off your career into the Fixer business, has been spotted heading towards Sun's apartment. Normally, that wouldn't require much of any concern, but Moon has Distorted, now dubbed as the Weeping Heartstrings, and has control over the whole of Vic's Office. This will be your first time dealing with Distortions, and you're going in blind without much knowledge beyond speculations over what the Weeping Heartstrings could do, and Mao herself doesn't think this is going to be a simple Request: Distortions are very 'funny' like that. Fortunately, Chief Vale managed to 'evacuate' Sun away from her apartment, but if you fail, that's only going to be a stopgap measure. Pay: 15,000,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split. This Request Takes Priority over Other Requests.

-[X] Neighbor(s) from Hell (Canard):
Mister Toko has cottoned onto the fact that one of his neighbors – or neighbors – might be trying to kill him. Cause? Noise complaints. All of which goes ignored by the Landlord since Toko paid extra for his rent and does so always on time. Something that his neighbors do not always do. It appears that Toko is something of a musician – and people are… sensitive of musicians after the Pianist Incident. One day, Toko caught one of his neighbors stalking him to his work. It might be his paranoia, but regardless, he's willing to hire a Fixer in case he's right. Pay: 350,000 Ahn – After Cut.
-[X] Time for Tea –
Adil, your most recent neighbor, staying right across your room. She's… fine, you think. Okay. Granted, you only spent a good some minutes with her, but you also pass by her through the hallways, every now and then, exchanging greetings. It's… actually nice. And she seems to know something about your mom, and… well, you want to know.
-[X] One Month Celebration Party. There is, as it happens, a sort of tradition going on with Scarecrow Office and its Sister Offices, where at the end of every month, representatives (generally the Vice Chiefs) of each Office would come together and discuss over this and that. It's a private, and boring thing, Mao told you. This time, however, is going to be different. It's going to be a celebration party – for whom? For everyone, really, but mostly for the recruits who managed to survive within the business for a single month. That means you. (Mao grins, golden ambers curving almost into slits. "We get to basically boast over our juniors – that's you and Kai, by the way – and decide who got the best. And this time, I'm going to be the winner.") -[X] An Inequivalent Exchange (Urban Myth): Conflicts don't just happen between Fixers, and Syndicates – they also happen between 'civilians', the 'common people'. Mister Arnold is one of the many proud business owners in the matter of food transports – specifically fresh fishes. It's a whole industry. He's ambitious. Enter Miss Ratika, the owner of an equally as-large business in the same industry. She's also ambitious. And well, this type of thing is never pretty. Real cutthroat. Regardless, Mister Arnold has lost, and he's supposed to be delivering his 'letter of surrender' – that is to say, the deed, ownership, and everything to his company – in person to Miss Ratika. Mister Arnold also doesn't have any bodyguard, on the account of them being all dead. She has at least a good half-a-dozen 9-to-8 Grade Fixers on her person all the time. This is where you come in. Ideally, you all just need to stand there looking tough-like while the deal happens, but unideally, as it often goes, you are gonna have to extract Mister Arnold out there from Miss Ratika's building. Intel from our Sisters at the Yellow Path says that Miss Ratika is that kind of person. Pay: 1,500,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split.

Yeah I'll try voting this. The only anti-mind stuff I remember is moonstone clothes, but that was used by Liu office in LoR and probably waaaay outside our price range.

Adil can wait after we stabilize money situation after buying stuff imo, we'll have opportunities plenty.

Edit: Edited to bring Mao to the augment shopping.

Personally, I'm not comfortable going to Adil without at least Prudence II. She's fishy.
[X] Plan Auged

I'm definitely in favour or going to the market and spending lots. Weeping Heartstrings (Urban Plague) sounds like its going to be hard
It also pays 15,000,000 Ahn or fifteen million before split. For reference An Inequivalent Exchange (Urban Myth) pays out 1,500,000 or 1.5 million. I really think we'll get more than 10%. If Mao thought we'd be a dead weight they wouldn't have given us the option of coming along in the 1st place.
So really we just need to not die twice and pass the mission and we'll have plenty of money for things like taxes and rent.

Other than that I'm not sure what shape we'll be be in so I don't think we should take another job so that leaves the socials.

The ones I'd like would be
[] Time for Tea,
[] One Month Celebration Party.
[] Someone to Hang Out With?
-[] Mao.
Provided that you both managed to survive this mission alive, Mao promises to treat you for a feast.
-[] Sun. Provided that you live this through, you might be able to visit her bakery…

But we don't have the action points for that.

I think I'd go for something like this

-[] Luxurious, and Nutritious (100,000 Ahn): You can… you can treat yourself a little, right? For once in your lifetime, and – fuck. You don't know. Eat whenever you're hungry. I feel like Sun and Mao should have follow up after this. Adil is interesting but it isnt't urgent and isn't as tied to everything else

Actually, can/did Lily ask anybody how much a good (for her level) augment would roughly cost? It's something that wouldn't take more than a minute or two and she can ask that literally everybody in the office.

Been thinking it over, and it kinda contradicts what I said about it before, so I guess it's a bit of retconning, and I haven't really super decided on it yet -- but in terms of shopping, one mil's a good cut-off point from "hackjob work" to "augmenter's not gonna try to fuck you over", though said quality's up in the air. Two mils are where you get the decent ok stuffs like your Knockbar. Going up to 10 mils and upwards is where you get the 6th Grade and above stuffs, though from that point onward, things do get more abstract and meaningless, artsy and arbitrary.

100 Mils to bils is where you cross that boundary into something like Oliver's TimeTrack device, or Cane Office's whole shebang, or Roland's Mask or a few of Black Silence's Arsenal, or YuRia Atelier's stuffs. S Class Tier stuffs, basically.

I will have to come back to this because I am not really in the state to figure out a plan but here is my list of wants.

-No shopping. Well, no buying really unless someone can talk numbers to me otherwise. Looking is semi-okay.
-Social time, which means no second job. If we have to take one then sure but we have too many plot threads we need to look at or at least see what is there than what is comfortable to me.
-I want to see Kai but I know that can wait until next week but I am going to be insistent on it.
-Meeting the rest of our office, we need a measure on them.
-Lin is not the worst but I do not care that much about him. Adil though... there is something there we might have to brave.
-I was not expecting the party. Time-limited and could have delicious food good info there.

Those are my thoughts anyway, I will check on things later and see what people came up with.

Would we get the augment before the fight? It sounded fairly urgent and besides, all our weeks so far have started with the requests. I don't think being screwed over is a big deal though since we can just bring Mao. She'll keep them honest.

Mhh, one other thing that could be interesting. We had the option of buying some kind of symbiotic weapon from an atelier when buying stuff, but didn't.

I wonder if this resurrection that also includes augments would mitigate the drawbacks of that, and make it an even better idea?

Edit: Obviously not now, but something to look forward to

[X] Plan Were Already Awesome

This is the only named plan that came up with Adil in it. I'd change if I saw a better plan.

TBH, I'd prefer something more Jetstream Sam than anything else, it's probably cheaper, and it fits the whole "The monster already exists, the gear just makes it better" bits.

Mmm, that being said. @SoothingCoffee , we get our cut of the money from the Mission before the end of the week, right? It's not going to be 50/50, but how much of that are we likely to see?

We need to keep in mind, after all, that we still have 1.3M that we need to pay by the end of this turn, 800K for our rent, 500K for our taxes. And 1 Mil isn't quite enough to get the good stuff either.

Alright, so that's our budget then, at the end of the turn, we need to have 1.3M ready to go.

Here's what I've got in mind.

[X] Plan: Batten down the Hatches.
-[X] Luxurious, and Nutritious (100,000 Ahn): You can… you can treat yourself a little, right? For once in your lifetime, and – fuck. You don't know. Eat whenever you're hungry. --[X] Mao
--[X] You're confident in your ability to stand up, what you need is something to help you put others down. Given your budget and what you've seen of Kai's eye though, maybe best not to get something that you can't take out if it's a bit too scuffed. Some kind of underlay to your clothes or something. A temporary booster is also fine, as long as it can help you ramp up.
-[X] Extermination: Weeping Heartstrings (Urban Plague). Moon, Sun's Ex-Lover, and the guy who first kicked off your career into the Fixer business, has been spotted heading towards Sun's apartment. -[X] One Month Celebration Party.

So, here's the rationale.

1) We owe rent and taxes by the end of the month. The Main Story Mission gets us at least 1 million, and then we follow up with a relatively easy Canard to make sure that whatever we spend, we've got enough to cover our fees.

2) Burning Curiosity fits as a good bookend to the first main arc, and we can do it along with paying our rent, which gives us an excuse to ask, if we're in a position to do so by turn's end too, we should be slightly more resistant to his bullshit, since we'll likely have the XP to level Justice up as well between the two missions. Miscounted AP, removed from the list.

3) We don't want to put something scuffed or discount level in Lily unless we can take it out later. Kai had a 2 million budget and yet her eye is still super scuffed, get something like a Jetstream Sam muscle suit underlay or some kind of short term boost to our damage output--something we can take out later if we have to. The key is having an edge, not expecting 1 million to buy us a build defining item.

4) Celebration Party is mandatory, I refuse to avoid it.

...

Oh yeah, one more question @SoothingCoffee , about how much is Lily's uniform worth in light of that? The piece of fabric we got seems to be really potent, as was the general added boost we got to begin with.
