One thing I would bring up is, I think we should try to level Melee itself under Fortitude to be on par with our blocking
Edit:I know we don't have enough xp right now, but we have some to start with.

Of course, an update drops when I am responding to messages I meant to do earlier but forgot, I will get into that later. I had to double-check if we voted for the Boss or not, I was a bit worried there.

Ok, so. What if Lily and Kai were in a fight, then Lily "dies" right at the end as/right before Kai finishes it off, Kai will mourne us etc. etc... then we just get up like "Sup.", causing Kai to freak out (or whatever equivalent) for the first time as we've ever seen :o ... I think. My memory is blurry.

... It says something about me that I see that last part in a humorous light. I may be projecting my imaginary scenario wants here. Just wanted to get this off my chest because it barely passes my "only post this thing you hope will be seen as funny/whatever if you actually think it's funny yourself" check which I need to remember more often

It was funny to me, I had a similar scene in my head. It is sometimes more serious or horrifying, but most of the time it Kai and others wondering what the hell Lily is made out of.

...man Lily's Keypage (as she is rn) with this option is going to look way too metal/OP a passive attributable thing for a Grade 9, soon 8 Fixer lol.

I look at it in a couple of different ways:

1) It is a Roland situation where a fixer is stronger than what their Grade would tell you except in this case Lily is a rising star instead of a down-on-his-luck fixer.

2) She would be like Kim and be used in fights she has absolutely no right being in and making it work.

3) Be like the Iron Brotherhood or the Cleaners and have her passives slapped on anything and everything to the endgame.

I am completely unsure what all the other Level 3 Perks would give seeing how Fortitude turned out but that might be because Fortitude has as much subtly as a hammer. I am also unsure if EX would also give a perk.

I have to think on this a bit more but I do have an idea where to start on the other Level 3 Perks. You have to take into consideration the Voice of each skill in question. Warped being combat-related makes sense since it is the Melee Perk but the berserk part is a bit odd. However, it clicks into place once you realize Melee's Voice is bloodthirsty. The others follow the same pattern. Endurance is always willing to get back and try again, that nothing can keep us down. Not even death. Instinct is having your body in tune your with surroundings, a step further is understanding the surroundings (the City) as it was your body.

If this were a light novel then this upcoming mission would be the end of Volume 1. Hell, it would be bloody cruel to have Sun offer us to move in with but we failed to protect her during the mission.

Also, I'm kinda hoping that Twice Beating Heart doesn't trigger in front of too many witnesses.

So, I think we should shop for some augs/boosts/mods/etc. I don't think this is a good time to save, especially since its bloody Urban Plague. With a Distortion too. And its not a straightforward one too to boot. Especially since rewards are promised even if we fail and walk out of it alive. So luxurious meal, we got 1,103,150 Ahn free after that, let's load for bear because ahahahahaha Urban Plague Distortion.

Since we have a weapon, we have clothes, maybe its time for some augments at this point?

*Chainsaw Man vibes intensify*

I had a similar worry myself but I will think we will be fine, at least for the first few triggers. Unless the kill was extremely obvious, like cut in half or something messy, it can be internally rationalized as it looked worse than it was or something similar. It is going to take multiple revives or an observant person to realize that something is off. Lily's tankniess does help to disguise her strangeness here.

I mean, I'd certainly advocate for some augs (as long as its not tattoos, but I blame Ruina having everyone above a certain level/at Star of the City levels having fucking nice drip and I want somma that for Lily if the day comes), especially because we're nominally rated for Urban Myth, and Urban Plague's sitting 2 levels above that (it goes Urban Myth, Legend, Plague)- and we have a distortion there too.

With Lily's new perk how about we try looking for recipes for food that kills on consumption? Or not even 100% kill on consumption but a chance that eating it results in death. Dying might be worth the cost if the food provides good enough bonuses.

If we go for augs, we should choose something that intrinsically changes us, instead of just being an addon like a tattoo or nanomachines or machine parts. Why? Because I don't know if our resurrection would bring them back, so just get something to change the base that we know is preserve

Edit: Even something relatively mundane like super combat drugs or some treatment to let us use more of the body recklessly muscle wise would work, as dying to that isn't that big a deal to us.

[] Shopping Time – last time you went into the Market District, it was with the gang, and there's a sorta time-restraint then. Now, you have the time to look around a bit. You have money. You don't really know if it's enough for much of anything, but well… why not, right? You can also bring someone else with you, if you want.
-[] Who to bring? (Choose 1. Boss, Kai, Sun, Mori, and Burke Excluded. You can pick none.)
-[] What do you want to buy? (Choose 1: Weapons, Body Mods, General Items, Gadgets, Accesories, etc. Specify what type of weapons, body mods, or general items you're looking for.)
[X] Extermination: Weeping Heartstrings (Urban Plague).
Moon, Sun's Ex-Lover, and the guy who first kicked off your career into the Fixer business, has been spotted heading towards Sun's apartment. Normally, that wouldn't require much of any concern, but Moon has Distorted, now dubbed as the Weeping Heartstrings, and has control over the whole of Vic's Office. This will be your first time dealing with Distortions, and you're going in blind without much knowledge beyond speculations over what the Weeping Heartstrings could do, and Mao herself doesn't think this is going to be a simple Request: Distortions are very 'funny' like that. Fortunately, Chief Vale managed to 'evacuate' Sun away from her apartment, but if you fail, that's only going to be a stopgap measure. Pay: 15,000,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split. This Request Takes Priority over Other Requests.
-[X] Mandatory: you'll go with Mao.
[] Dreaming of You (Urban Myth):
Miss Ann has been having nightmares since… well, since a few months ago. That's nothing new, of course, and she did ignore it at first. However, it has gotten worse ever since to the point that she couldn't do her work – a teacher, of all things! – properly. Recently, she has woken up with cuts, and bruises on her body, and she has requested the Scarecrows to guard her from… whatever's causing this. Perhaps even from herself. Pay: 800,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split.
-[] Go with Kai? (Recommended)
[] One Month Celebration Party. There is, as it happens, a sort of tradition going on with Scarecrow Office and its Sister Offices, where at the end of every month, representatives (generally the Vice Chiefs) of each Office would come together and discuss over this and that. It's a private, and boring thing, Mao told you. This time, however, is going to be different. It's going to be a celebration party – for whom? For everyone, really, but mostly for the recruits who managed to survive within the business for a single month. That means you. (Mao grins, golden ambers curving almost into slits. "We get to basically boast over our juniors – that's you and Kai, by the way – and decide who got the best. And this time, I'm going to be the winner.") [Can only be picked as the Last Action of the Week.]

Funny you would say that, because augments are, at least according to Eri's page, the first thing a fixer should get, so we have been doing it backwards.

You have lots of things to prepare before you can jump into the Fixer business. Starting with choosing equipment, you'll need clothes to protect your bodily accessories, et cetera… But, before any of that, body augmentation comes first. There's no point having masterful skills or fancy equipment if your body can't keep up, y'know? And training hard isn't gonna do it. There's a limit to training your body, and the fittest body is still no match for mechanical prosthetics or bionic organs. You gotta be able to keep your body intact to do anything, so you're pretty much forced to spend a fortune on it.

There's a ton of methods to enhance your body. Exoskeletons, bionic surgeries, nano-tattoos, prosthetic body parts… You name it. Deciding what workshop tech to employ is up to preference and purpose. Some would want insane muscular strength that could let them carry a power pole one-handed, and others would want ludicrous speed, quick enough to skip over multiple blocks in a split second. It's so diverse, I could go on forever. You need any ability, they've got you covered. The only hurdle is money. In the City, money is what gets you power. That's why the first thing we notice when we assess our foes is how much they've spent on their bodies… Oh, of course, some technologies patented by closed groups like certain Syndicates or Wings are hard to get your hands on even if you have all the cash in the world.

Just look at me, though! It took a teensy little procedure for me to lift this humongous weapon with one hand. This is the kind of power you can get, you see? Body augmentation is more of a necessity than an option these days, so you'll want to study up on that. You don't wanna stay a weakling when everyone else's getting their augmentations, now do you?

Bold by me.

I am totally ok with going shopping, but do we have enough for anything worthwhile? Our starting weapon, while great, cost 2mil and we only have half that. Plus you know those workshops are going to try to screw us if they realize we're desperate.

Please don't forget about taxes. If Lily will go to buff herself we'll need to spend all other freetime to working if we don't want ata-ta from the Head or give landlord more favors.

Personally I am in favor of Bionic muscles and organs to just generally raise Lily's stats all around, but full body mods are probably beyond our budget atm so we will probably have to narrow down an area to improve. Like, maybe arm muscles for improved strength or legs for higher speed?

Canonically even poor, bottom of the barrel Fixers from an office like Yun's can afford at least some basic mods, so there should be at least some we can buy. We only need to make sure we don't go too cheap, since that way lies your mods melting inside you.

Since we've got an auto revive we might be able to pull off something insanely dangerous as a one off

So we have an Urban Plague that we have to take but we do have Mao. Not sure on what the pay split would be like nor how much we need to keep for rent and taxes. Soothing said having about 2 Million Ahn would be a good amount to bring when shopping but that was a while ago and learning what we can get would be good for us even if we do not get anything. It would hurt, but be useful.

Things to keep in mind.
-Mori, Burke, Lin, and Adil have not been interacted with yet.
-Wonderland is coming but Lily does not know that yet, meeting with Kai is a must to do anything about this. We have about three weeks but it is best not to dawdle.
-Learning more about our sister offices would be good and it seems that this a once a month option, it will not show up again. Not the free party food anyway.

Edit: Remember that we spent a million on the life leach on our suit and we expected to recoup our losses on next week's missions. We hoped to do some social as well this turn. It might be best to wait a week or two before we go, we will have better income now at Grade 8.

They'll stick with you.
That's...very interesting.

With this, we can look for a type of augmentation thats higher performance than its price would indicate, but the price is brought down by being unsafe or whatever. Like how Kai's eye has it's thing but health wise?

Since we have essentially 1.5 times the health lifesteal from kills and may indeed just decide to eat potential health costs.

Edit: So the base 2 AP mission, the shopping and unique opportunity party eat enough AP that the only thing left is another mission, where I recommend the one with most money so we can just splurge on the augment and still not just get the Head sent after us or get thrown out.

Also, by dangerous please only blow us up as a desperation move. I am more thinking lethal drug

Let's not quite go straight for self-mutilation/killing just because we can, please? Freaking other people aside, imo that's just asking for us to blow it on something we didn't need it on and actually die-die. And that's not going into how it affects Lily's mentality.

Actually, can/did Lily ask anybody how much a good (for her level) augment would roughly cost? It's something that wouldn't take more than a minute or two and she can ask that literally everybody in the office.

So, something like...this? Or more social instead?

[X] Plan Auged
-[] Shopping Time – last time you went into the Market District, it was with the gang, and there's a sorta time-restraint then. Now, you have the time to look around a bit. You have money. --[] Bring no one.
---[] Buy strength enhancing augmentation, for the purpose of melee combat.

-[] An Inequivalent Exchange (Urban Myth): Conflicts don't just happen between Fixers, and Syndicates – they also happen between 'civilians', the 'common people'. Mister Arnold is one of the many proud business owners in the matter of food transports – specifically fresh fishes. It's a whole industry. He's ambitious. Enter Miss Ratika, the owner of an equally as-large business in the same industry. She's also ambitious. And well, this type of thing is never pretty. Real cutthroat. Regardless, Mister Arnold has lost, and he's supposed to be delivering his 'letter of surrender' – that is to say, the deed, ownership, and everything to his company – in person to Miss Ratika. Mister Arnold also doesn't have any bodyguard, on the account of them being all dead. She has at least a good half-a-dozen 9-to-8 Grade Fixers on her person all the time. This is where you come in. Ideally, you all just need to stand there looking tough-like while the deal happens, but unideally, as it often goes, you are gonna have to extract Mister Arnold out there from Miss Ratika's building. Intel from our Sisters at the Yellow Path says that Miss Ratika is that kind of person. Pay: 1,500,000 Ahn – After Cut, Before Split.
