The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[X] There are several volumes of primers meant for neophyte Servants. They are supposed to help ground new walkers of the Path, but you can use their insights to further refine your breathing technique. (Cost: 2 Bronze Talents. Benefit: +1 Knowledge (Cultivation). Procs a follow-up vote to select Breathing Technique Refinements.)

[X] The Archivists keep the truly rare gems to themselves. For one of those to fall into your hands you will have to show them something that will rock their foundations. (Cost: A record of Shatter the Mirror. Benefit: Gain randomly aspected Grade Four technique.)

What's the worst that can happen :V

Hi ho, Hi ho, its off to breathing we go!

There are all sorts of fun little improvements one can make to a breathing pattern, as indicated by Kumi's notes we were able to look over. It's never too late to shore up or expand the foundations of an artist's life after all!

@Vesvius @Cteatus If we trade in a technique at the library here, can we still trade a copy of the same technique once we return to the Delving Heart? Specifically thinking about BS or StM.
There's always a chance for knowledge to spread. So while it's very possible to share the knowledge here and then double dip back at home, there's a non-zero chance that someone else would beat you to it.

Mockingjay's Archives have no shortage of minor techniques that are tested and true. You will use this opportunity to fill a void in your arsenal. (Cost: 5 Bronze Talents. Benefit: Gain a Grade Two technique. Procs a follow-up vote to select Type and Aspect (Limited to the Basic Eight).)

Honestly a grade 2 tech (potentially a smoke/fire archer tech to fill the whole in our tech tree) for only 5 talents is a good deal. As @HousePet said in Discord, it's a bargain compared to the Heart's archives (a grade 1 tech was 30 sect points while we could get a grade 2 tech for 15-25 sect points here).

The grade 4 tech is sooo tempting but I doubt it gets enough votes to win. I'd be down for a grade 2 archer tech.

Since you came to the Delving Heart- no, even before that! Since you began your training in the Kong Family Style, the days where you have had absolutely no demands upon your time have been few and far between. You always had jewelcarving to practice, or you had sigil diagrams to learn, or you had melting points to memorize again and again.
Nice to hear more about Kong Zhi's pre-Heart life.

That way, you'll be safe from Auntie Bi's punishment and your own internal chastisement at the same time!
You are never safe. Never!

the way they cry out for weapons from Jingyi's Summit
Oh, I think we are headed that way.

Both of these seem like good options.
A bit more cultivation background wouldn't hurt, and a small boost to our breathing technique could give unexpected boons.
However, I'd like to point out that the Basic Technique option is a bargain. 5 bronze talents ~ 20 sect points. Peng Ah was quoted 30 points for what sounded like a grade 1 fire technique. Now could be a good time to look for something to fill our Archer hole.

Spend money, not secrets.

Ok, so i don't want to cheese off Siani via selling a technique given in confidence. It's not "tell them about [REDACTED] when Siani told you not too," bad but annoying them is not a great idea. enclosed garden is similar. Time tech is willfully releasing a memetic Cognito hazard onto an unsuspecting city. It's not only stupid it's something siani might well end us for.

In general selling secrets not yours to give and/or trying to sell nukes to children is a bad idea. Don't do it.

Because faster regen and/or something to boost tech efficiency or efficacy of cycling for our stuff is rather big, and we're likely to get something we want out of it for minimal pricing.

Switching gears for a Fire Archer tech, we have the wonder for it, we need an archer tech, and the cost is cheap, so might as well get it now.

Can we only do one? Because both of these are good options. But I'm leaning towards a breathing technique refinement.

From an economic stand-point, the Breathing Technique Refinement feels more expensive than what I'd expect similar knowledge to cost in the Delving Heart.
Whereas, all the Technique options look far cheaper than what I'd expect from the Delving Heart.

On the other hand, we might never vote to go looking for further Breathing Technique Refinements while at the Heart.

Yeah, I think a tech is the way to go. I'm not sure how displeased the family would be if SEG is shared, but one must also consider what the family can gain as Zhi will likely share that new tech with the fam as well. How happy would the clan be to get access to a Royal tech for instance? Zhi's not going to need the Scepter for ever.

It's cheaper than in DH and getting insights is a thing. We've got a good source of Fire anam. If we need funds we could always work during the trip

Well it also includes a free +1 to an at least somewhat commonly used skill. If you consider that 1d3 tutoring costs 3 talents and two AP then in combination this is a steal.

Also no matter how minor the upgrade to our breathing tech. It is likey to stick with us for the rest of this quest.
