When we can we should design the cruise ship. A good part of the rebel fleet is repurposed cruise ship
That's specifically Mon Calamari ships, though, which were designed and built by a people famous for their skill with structural integrity and redundant shielding systems. The rebels didn't just take any old random cruise ships.

Honestly I'm just going to roleplay as the Jawa and keep bringing up the Budget Fighter idea, theoretically as a slowly improving set of concept art and design documents, at every meeting.

This picture appeals to me for the project
Nothing wrong with that, but I was thinking something more like this, for the uncomplicated geometries and ability to easily armor the forward facing (as most engagements will involve at least one head on pass, along with its expected profile being against upgunned freighters ie turrets):

gonna be honest I'm pretty disappointed the courier ship won, I don't think we'll actually be able to build a good one with what we have, also I'm a big fan of the super industrialised style from the early 2000's, which lends itself a lot more to heavy freighters and utility craft than couriers

Yeah, to be honest I don't think we'll be in a position to be aiming for quality on that courier, either. We'll more likely be aiming for meeting the bare minimum requirements while being a local manufacturer and trying to beat the competition on price. But I suppose the discussion for what might mechanically be the best balance point is something we can talk about when further details about the design process get revealed next post.

Aside from the courier, you've finished all in one go. I wouldn't call that hate.
Yeah, it's just strange that the only thing that did not work out in one go is the one that had the highest chance to do so.

Also, I got confused by the percantages, thought we had a DC to beat for a moment (which wouldn't have made much of a difference, safe for the Design part), but anyway. The two sub-ten rolls sure aren't nice but taking our time with the first desgn surely isn't going to bakrupt us, right? ;)

Yeah, I plugged the numbers into an online dice statistics page to do the math of how likely each thing was to succeed, and put the results into my plan. Hitting 150 or greater on a 4d100 was about 81% chance, and we didn't hit it, which is a bummer. At least all the production stuff succeeded.

why does that 8 look like a B by the result of courier? or are my eye even more fucked up that i thought they where??

Your eyes are playing tricks on you.

Hopefully since production went well folk will be able to see if there are places we can skip production next turn and throw budget at R&D.
