Does these mean that the people were oppressed super bad so-
  1. -The only way for that to change is to go up from rock bottom?
  2. -They have reason to believe this one will be different?
Also should there not be a separate voting section for agriculture? Or at least the landmass weigh in much more heavily on the state of the agriculture than the industry?

No, because industry needs people, and your father had only one demographic where he found enough of them to make industry happen on any scale. That being farmers.

And what makes you think the landmass vote won't influence your industry? Because I didn't spell it out? Narrative Implications people, that is the watchword of this quest.

@HeroCooky Is that an okay unique feature?

Normally I would've just gone with the flow and voted for a plan already made since I know my plan will lose, but all the plans already made are completely boring. I especially dislike that they aren't even trying to do anything fun with the unique features (instead using them to try to provide bonuses) and that they all seem to start in the 70s.

At first I was going to make up a short bit saying our Island home has magic via appeasing island spirits for an edge in invasions and acquisitions of natural resources. So then our nation would be the (assumed) only place where magic is real at the cost of a spirits appeasement stat? But then my thumb got away from me as I was tapping away...
