[X] The University of War: You are going to do the one thing you should have done a long time ago when Brian gave you the chance with his Officer's Paycheck. Finish your schooling. But now, you are going to study one science. The Science of War.

Probably, less deserving men were made Marshals IRL
Considering Brian is remarkably more competent as a general and as a man compared to... some of those men... Pretty sure we've take a few of the bad ones off the list by his very virtue of compatence.
I don't recall what rank Brian is atm, but as Napoleon's Chief of Staff, he's intricately tied with Bonaparte's star. Even if he never had another original idea in his life, Brian would probably end up in any position he wants as a reward for assisting Napoleon into the position he's in. OTL, Napoleon "merely" drafted the plan that would end the battle of Saorgio in France's favor and take Piedmont out of the war. In other words, he still had superiors at the time. ITTL, he was the overall commander of that battle. There's also the matter of Napoleon's absolutely fabulous wealth.
Brian is a Brigade General currently. He willingly gave up a rank to be chief of staff to Napoleon, and appease some of his more prideful officers.
So stealing Jourdan's nickname... sure.
For the future? "Sword of the Nile,"
that's if we even go there.
"Sultana of Bhatar (India),"
A pipe dream. but I like it.
The Lightning Before the Thunder,"
Who's our thunder Brian or napoleon?
." And of course, for the shippers, "Her Imperial Majesty, Empress of France." This is fun, we should do this more often.
You all are shipping Trash.... keep going.
Incidentally, I've always wondered since that anime girl dream sequence near the start of the quest, what Napoleon would think about these shenanigans. I don't know if I would be amused or a little unsettled in his place. Lol.
We'd proboly not be so.... saught after by Nappy B.
(Am I guessing right @Magoose?)
Correct.

Hmmm.
You had finally reorganized the Armée d'Orient, and you would be reaching the marching orders. De Lisle and Berthier were clashing egos' that found it impossible to work with each other… but somehow, their combined efforts made this… effort into something you could only dream of.
As expected, two chiefs of staff causes issues. We need to figure something out here. Maybe make one of the two quartermaster general? One handles the operational planning, the other supplies.

As expected, republican and dependable. We'll need that.

You gain +1 to Grand Strategy, Administration, and Logistics.
Sweet.

Other Generals of France will Take note.
Take notice nerds.

Well you need to find a way to deal with it... and soon, before they decide to not work together.

Just dependable. right now politics don't matter when we are far away... Plus he's an old friend.
Indeed
Take Notice Napoleon.

Aren't you guys worried about Louis? He is our charge, and he has no one else to take care of him. It's been stated that we NEED to talk to him, since apparently he's having a rough time and is very angry. Let's not forget that he has this trait:

L'oiseau brisé de Versailles: You are an abused child, who should be king. You should be protected, instead, you were beaten and taken away from your family. (Several stats are set to 0, and he needs to be brought out of his shell if he is to learn and grow)

And we've just been warned about this:

No.

She has lost that.

Though for Louis... he's... very angry.

Like you need to talk to him angry.
Since we took charge of him and his sister, we have a responsibility towards taking care of his well being, and going to the University is would be neglecting to do so. Besides, we just got a shiny new trait, so we can do without further training. Which is why I urge you guys to talk to Louis and Charlotte.

Even with the new trait it would only make our Grand Strategy a 10 nowhere near competent enough for an Independebt Campaign in hostile territory far away from support. And our Command and Military are at 11, Cavalry Command is at 6 and Infantry Command is at a 10. We are about to embark to Egypt at the command of a force far larger than we've ever commanded and far away from Friendly territory. We need to be better or we're fucked.

The situation with Louis is unfortunate but this is just the first Interlude of many in the run up to us leaving.

Sad that we'll miss our brother's wedding, but we have a responsibility to the kids.

The time we'll spend in the University won't give us the numbers we'll need anyway, that's why we're being accompanied by other competent officers. Our stats won't raise by the amount needed to match some of our counterparts by simply attending classes. Especially since we have a lot of things to take care of before departing. I'm sure we'd get something out of it, but we won't turn into Clausewitz by going there.

The situation with Louis demands our immediate attention on the other hand, and he is our responsibility. And as you said, this is the first of the interludes, we can go there AFTER we deal with this. Especially as Louis and Charlotte are with us and this is presumably the action that takes the least amount of time to if not solve, than at least get a handle of.

We should argueably be able to do most of these picks in the time we have.
Considering Brian is remarkably more competent as a general and as a man compared to... some of those men... Pretty sure we've take a few of the bad ones off the list by his very virtue of compatence.
Note that Napoleon didn't pick his marshals purely for their military skill. He picked them for their usefulness and based on what suited his own goals at the time.

That said. If Brian is as useful and close to Napoleon as you've been saying he has been, then he'll likely secure his place. Maybe even at the cost of Berthier's spot now that the latter is somewhat out of the limelight.

If anything Thérèse spot is more uncertain. Especially if Brian gets his spot first. Promoting Thérèse is bound to cause political and popular backlash among the more conservative parts of population.

Protugal: Britain, calm the hell down, we can fix this if we make the right choices.
What a caring spouse.
Engineering: 25 "I will make a monument to last a thousand years."

Well, if there's any man who can dig a canal....

I believe we will have time to spend with Louis and Charlotte during the coming Cruise, whereas the access to French University is likely to be cut short (due to the RN imposing a sharp raise in administrative costs....)

We'll have time, sure, but Louis is having issues NOW. When you have a small child in distress, you adress it immediately, not ignore it for months, otherwise you'll have a problem in your hands. I don't see why the University would deny us entry later, they are the ones who contacted us in the first place, and we are a high ranking officer.

Therese if she continues defying possibility at every turn and doing the impossible... she might just be in the first class of Marshels..

almost certainly if we marry the man responsible for the creation of the office.
What a caring spouse
They really are... now if only they could turn Brazil into a super power.... then they can really be husband and wife.
Well, if there's any man who can dig a canal....
If he digs a canal Britain will fight like mad basterds to take it from us... and then there is other logistical problems... like angry natives.

I agree that we should probably take care of Louis before anything bad happens. We can't let our adopted younger brother down like that! And like some other people have been saying, going to the college of war for a few months isn't going to make us competent enough that we won't have to lean on our subordinates. It's definitely something we want to do eventually, but we have to take care of the more urgent stuff first.

You guys are just meming, right? Didn't it take like 10 years to dig a canal 50 years from now in peacetime? Unless there were circumstances I'm not aware of, which is totally possible.
