I'd still agrue that we should be able to do either all of these or most of these depending on where the wedding is taking place.
Only one of them, unfortunately. Us blowing off our officers will make us seem aloof. (well more than we currently are), The Wedding is in Italy so that's a bit of some traveling.
I hardly think Therese is incompetent, especially when she is aware of her weaknesses and has chosen to compensate for them, the key example being our choice of officers. We've had a pretty good track record so far, I don't think characterizing her as such is accurate.
I think her realizing she needs to rely on other people would cause her to try and get better so she would not feel as guilty when they command battles.

Every battle we've commanded has been with assistance or reinforcements from more skilled or talented generals.

I think she would try to get better, either in the field, or in study, so she would not have that weakness. If she fought a battle alone, she knows she would lose.

one of his younger sisters.
So Brian has a Bone to pick?

What kind of bitch doesn't go to her own brothers wedding when she has the time and ability to do so?
This bitch doesn't have time. She has 100,000 other brothers (in arms) and a lot on her plate right now. Send regrets, blessings and a big present. I'm voting for hitting the books.

[X] The University of War: You are going to do the one thing you should have done a long time ago when Brian gave you the chance with his Officer's Paycheck. Finish your schooling. But now, you are going to study one science. The Science of War.

It is what Brian wants us to do anyway.

AdO: to Malta and Southern Sicily.

Use our mini Napoleon expy to take Malta with one Corps?

More like the Bone picked him... and he just went with it after mutual attraction :V

A letter would suffice. And even though she has ever opportunity to skimp off to a party... if she chooses not to go... Brian will undestand.

Heading to the War College or to Italy, sure. Those take a lot of time. But spending time with Louis and our own men?

  • [X]A Family of Choice: You are going to ignore the Letters, ignore all those potential futures and take a breath. Gather the family that you seemed to have created… and try to learn what Louis wants.

[X]The Dinner with Officers: You will go join the officers in their feast, and hopefully at least get them onto a few more good will lists.
[X]A Wedding from Italy: Brian is getting married?! Who is the… of. The name said it all… Bonaparte's Sister. What the hell kind of Blackmail did Napoleon have to make your brother marry his sister… or, worse… genuine infatuation on Brian's part that led to this.

We serve them better by doing our job. They must bond as an army command, but we must improve as an army commander. They deserve better, so we will be better.
We need to speak to Louis though, he is a seven year old traumatized child, while our officers and soldiers are grown men who are a lot less dependent on us than him. We do have a responsibility towards the kids as their guardian after all, not going to the University won't impede our work, but not taking care of Louis and seeing what's wrong with him could seriously damage our relationship to him and compound on his already existing issues. There is also no guarantee we'll do well in our studies either, but even if we fail in our conversation with him, at least we'll have an inkling of what the problem is, and we can follow up on that.

That moment where you look at a certain roll for a certain someone and say "Huh? Neat"

And then just go about the day because you are hungry.

I kind of want Louis as our enemy. Simply because it would make the story more interesting.

And for all the shit he went through already, he won't be.

Neglected... perhaps, but he would understand, considering the situation. Just not very happy about it.
I'm not sure that person meant that going to the University would make Louis our enemy though. I don't think anyone thinks that, though that's just my opinion on a opinion, so not worth much. Only they know what they meant.

But yeah, that's the reason I wish we talked to Louis, being emotionally unavailable to an abused kid in our care in order to get stats is not the best choice in my opinion. I wish we could take both options, but alas we can't. So family meeting is my preferred course of action right now. I'm also curious to see what ails him.

considering that many of the Marshel's were themselves pretty shit parents... it would not surprise me in the least if we follow the trend and pretty much be a shit parental figure.
