She's repeatedly said she finds large groups uncomfortable and she only just got around to opening up to Gans group before her promotion to inner.

This is such a ringing endorsement of Ling Qi's way that she should be feeling amazingly validated right now.

this wont be the last group training and both Su Ling and LQ will be together in the sect for some time. Also, unless Su Ling also signs up with the Cai or something like that, playing politics is a lot less urgent for her. So i think we have the time to introduce her to our friends/groups at a pace she is more comfortable with

Su Ling will definitely offend people if she doesn't do connections and ignore people, and the argument for holding off is that she would feel uncomfortable making connections.... so, the one reason to hold off means that we also believe she will also likely piss off people.

Moreover, my argument is that getting on the groundfloor of a new group is how you make sure you are liked by everyone with minimal effort. Doing it 'later' means a lot more problems for Su Ling, especially considering she will likely have backtracked into pissing people off.

It's extremely important for Su Ling to make connections considering her goals are very much dependent on said connections, and for her to actually notice that not all nobles are useless bastards. Or if she believes they are, for her to learn to deal with them so she can succeed in her goals.

Guys guys guys. Wait. Aren't we practicing Moonless Saboteur's Smile this turn? Isn't this a plot hook for using the "disarm attempt to sabotage ally" ? Isn't this *d a r k n e s s m o n t h*? ???

Guys. If we're cultivating MSS we should invite Su Ling and protect her with our awesome social prowess. We're basically unstoppable this month. Did you see that relatively responsible and adult conversation we just had with minimal flailing?! We're too powerful

Let's maximize our challenge and invite Su Ling to cultivate MSS better with. Isn't that what Alingge was saying? "something something allies are cultivation aids" ? xD

I'd love to write in that we float it as an idea but don't invite her yet. I think the best choice is the one where we let Su Ling decide . . but if we're not cultivating MSS then it's like. A bad idea. But maybe it's the right thing for Su Ling? She is pretty prickly but she could get a lot of "customers" for her wares if she networked a lil bit. And she's great and I want more scenes with her

The meeting is probably going to be socially exciting enough without splitting our focus. (Also I'm really liking the idea of starting the introductions with Shen Hu)

He was hoping that it might get there eventually though
After this conversation he's accepting that it won't progress that far but is happy to settle for friendship

That moment where Ling Qi's face fell is because she realized he was in fact attracted to her, and everything afterward was her scrambling to figure out how to let him down easy

I guess that could happen given enough time. They are immortals after all, but I don't think that the time at the sect would be enough.

Bear in mind she's both a) not going to be held to the same standard as us (ducal retainer) w.r.t. the expected level of politicking she needs to do, and b) she's just come off a mission for the Sect at which she did well enough to get a pass straight into the Inner Sect.

As far as cultivation levels go, Luo's group was predominantly Early Greens, with Alingge and Wu being Foundation, and Luo being Green 6, and I wouldn't expect this group to be higher than that, or necessarily even even. There might (probably will) be friction with her being spirit blooded, but that would always be the case, so I'd rather try and introduce her to other nobles here and hope for the best. She's probably capable of doing so slowly via building up cred over time in her Sect service, but this way speeds thing up assuming success.

Also I think that we plan on doing alot of group combat. We are preparing for war rather than duels after all.

Su Ling is at a high point of her reputation. Let´s give her the social entrance into the inner sect social club we didn´t get. Let´s make Su Ling, paradoxically, the most known cultivator!
Also, Allingge and other Weilu Conservatives will probably appreciate talking to Su Ling. Liang He will really like to talk shop with somebody about swords. He really doesn´t get many opportunities I imagine.

I guess most nobles consider getting a social art as default and not need to be said as coming to parties wearing clothes. On one hand, I was under the impression that people usually don't have as many meridians as Ling Qi so having a social art just for gatherings would mean they have to constantly equip it and unequip it. On the other hand, it seems like everyone had at least something similar on CRX's parties even if it was only a way to block conversations, so I guess they just make do with not having a whole arsenal of combat arts equiped all the time, the weirdoes.

Actually considering that this a combat club. We should expect many people to come not having their social arts equipped. We are all planning to fight after all.

For a lot of nobles social is going to be their primary skillset and they'll maybe just have one or two combat arts on the side for when they need to be seen exercising military prowess.
 
Seem's like an even worse GF group sparring session to me, just not convinced it'll be good to pair them together so soon and expect them to be instant friends. Lots of minefields to expect on both sides, we can have another session with her she's better situated.
Edit- I'd also like to focus more on Wang since we've been ordered by Cai and not try to mess it up with a random element like Su Ling in the picture.
And of course getting Zhengui some friend's.

Mmm, I think it wouldn't be unfair to say that getting Su Ling involved in Noble politicking probably isn't what she wants.

tbh, it would probably be better if we knew more common people... Hmm, her and Shen Hu and Yu Nuan might get on decently :p
