Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Moon prism power is now close to overtaking; I strongly recommend that people currently voting for the original PLR plan switch to In the Name of the Moon and Dancing Moon for the skill plan.

If Darkness wins because more people want a Darkness turn, that's fine, but it would be a shame if more people wanted a moon turn but it didn't happen due to the exigencies of the voting format.

Alright so as per @DeAnno I was apparently getting meridians wrong and we really can't equip any of: UGM/SNR and will have some trouble with ENM toward the end of the turn, with the competition effectively being PLR6+HDW5+(maybe)RME2 vs LFWT2+MSS1+(maybe but unlikely)BKSD2 in terms of immediately usable arts.

Now, I do have some issues with @Erebeal's plan as posted (and the other PLR plan to a lesser extent, though in that one it's at least intentional); namely the lack of flexibility:
  • Moon plan spends 3 AP opening 6 meridians. In practice this means 1 undecided meridian since we'll need 3 spines for UGM and SNR, and 2 legs for ENM5 and PLR7.
  • This means the plan not only pre-commits turn 9's single free AP to PLR, leaving us at potential (though lower now) risk in terms of spiritual[1], we also stay meridian-starved and will have to spend G4 AP (each more valuable by ~70 dice) on meridian actions just to keep up with art levels we'll want to pick up.
Also object to training War over something that'd fit RME better like Academics, that's just 3 xp down the drain for no reason since BKSD will have plenty of training turns. Not worth splitting the skill plan over though.

With that said, here's a proposed plan that foregoes PLR7 in green 3 to get a head start on meridians and maintain flexibility, otherwise identical to plan name of the moon.

[X] Plan: Moonlit Foundation
-[X] equip Songseeker's Ceremony
-[X] switch Inquisitive Study to Upkeep 2
-[X] Medium Pills (free)
-[X] Resources: 12 GSS, 12 YSS (4 free GSS, 8 from cash, 12 free YSS) , Drip on Spiritual Cultivation
-[X] Physical Cultivation (4 AP)
-[X] Spiritual Cultivation (4 AP)
-[X] Phantasmagoria of Lunar Revelry (2 AP)
-[X] Roaming Moon's Eye (1 AP)
-[X] Harmony of the Dancing Wind (1 AP)
-[X] Meridians (6 AP, tbd after archive results)
-[X] Research Arts in Sect Archive, Third Floor (1 AP, 20 SP)
-[X] Family (1 AP)

Clarifications:
- yes we can in fact spend 5AP on meridians, though it'll only get us 9 new open slots unless yrs decides to extend the softcap upward.
- turn 9's free AP is held in reserve for emergency spiritual, and if that's not needed maybe some of the new sect ways to spend AP that'll likely show up now that it's on a war footing.

Feel free to approval vote for this plan until it's comparable/takes over Erebeal's and/or the base PLR+meridians plan if you value flexibility and risk hedging over a shot at getting PLR7 running sometime in turn 9.

EDIT: HDW 2->1 AP due to omake investment, currently going toward another meridian AP.

Right so on the assumption some PLR plan wins (though basically the same logic applies next turn if it doesn't), me and some others are planning to commit omake points into HDW to reduce it from 2 to 1 AP (at 98.7% odds).

I'll be updating my plan to include an additional meridian AP and suggest @KinOfTheMountain @Vanguard_D and especially @Erebeal to do the same.

With that said, @yrsillar I should have 4 omake points available, mind putting them toward HDW when we train it? (and being first to pay if it overcaps and others have points toward it as well).

well, only thing I care about is war, so I'll approval vote all skill plans that have it and ignore all normal plans :p

-[] Meridians (6 AP, tbd after archive results)
We should have currently 44 meridians, so 6AP would take us to 5x2 = 54 (softcap reached) +1 (from last AP). Considering we don't know how post softcap meridian works, and how we don't yet have the wand for them (I think?) this means that we really shouldn't go and do 6AP of meridians, I think.

Can sixth AP be a scrunch?

Those count as meridian rolls as per

Efficiency Upgrades Unlocked for next turn.
Arts which have two or more meridians of the same type may now be made more efficient by combining two of it's meridians of the same category. This type of cultivation is considered a meridian roll and requires a number of successes equal to five times the number of meridians used for the art.

So in principle the reserved AP should be useable for Efficiency Upgrades.

With all these AP kind of starting to go spare, I like the idea of spending one AP on SNR. If I'm doing the calcs right, 1 AP of SNR this turn + 4 AP next turn with 60 dice bonus each gives a 48% chance of SNR 4 being reached, which would be a strong boost to its early showing.
