[X] Hand Jewellery
-[X] Resist

I got out of bed just to say that I fully support this aesthetic, and that art with this type of jewelry would absolutely be baller as fuck. It doesn't promote handedness, it's both a conversation piece and something discreet.

Also, Xeph, to keep in tune with her stars in her hair, worships the moon type vibes, here is a better example of what my googles tell me is a finger bracelet(?).

Just imagine it's silver and white instead of gold.

A cross between that and my second image - something delicate with a little weight to it, done in silver with engraved moon iconography, with each of Grinning/Hidden/Dreaming showing up.

That being said, while yrs did say we could get anything, I can't help but feel that when we're going to a guy whose specialty is weaving we should get something involving cloth...

I feel the same. Like when you go to a guy known for his leather working skills you generaly do not ask for knited stuff instead. The same aplies here I think.

I think I'd prefer the Pibo since we're going to a clothier but Spiritual Defense will probably be a non-issue in a few months so Resist is a priority.

"I approve of your desire to remain at top battle potential at all times," her liege continued seriously. "However, it is possible to retain your potency while not presenting too stagnant an image."

Sixiang started giggling, the traitor. This was happening it seemed. She had thought she was past this. "...I see, might I ask what your plans are, my Lady?"
The rumors we're a dress possessing a girl got too much to deal with then?

While I don't expect this to dissuade people, is the hand jewellery/finger braclet/whatever it's called even contemporary fashion in ancient China? I only know it from Indian fashion (which while close to China IRL, doesn't necessarily have a counterpart in this setting that I can recall off the top of my head) so it might be gauche until Ling Qi's status improves.

We were not given any limit to what type of item we could pick. The item is a valid choice, it's aesthetic is highly pleasing, and it's a cool idea besides. We're not even going only going to a clothier either.

"I have scheduled an appointment with Lin Hai, the man who designed your gown in its original state," Cai Renxiang replied crisply. "The three of us will proceed to his workshop on the last day of the month. I wish you to be equipped before your latest assignment."

Ling Qi frowned, it was true that her next scouting assignment would see her detached with a small group to defend an outlying mining village in Sect territory, so she would be away for some time, but she did not see what the hurry was, unless…

Meizhen chuckled, and even Cai Renxiang looked very briefly amused. "Yes, we will be acquiring more than just mundane accessories. The both of us require improved Talismans. Mother has given me a small dispensation for that purpose."
It's not just cloth, it's all the bells and whistles at our fingertips. Or in this case, on our wrists, hands, and fingers.

We work for Shenhua. Are you telling me a stylish, trendsetting woman like her Glorious Radiance doesn't have a superb and extensive collection of tasteful jewellery? :V

She is the fashion.

Oh, she does, but the question is does she have this? Because if this isn't Chinese fashion, and instead belonging to a missing India analog, then Ling Qi is attempting to set trends, and thus her status is important.

The setting is Chinese-inspired, not actually ancient China. And there is an India analogue, very close-by in fact, in the Red Jungle (ie. western territories). Notice how Sun Liling goes full Kali when her Scarlet Raiment is active, and her chakrams.

Not to mention, Shenhua wears incredibly sheer fabric and form-fitting dresses that wouldn't be out of place on a Hollywood red carpet without a second thought. Ling Qi has also never given a flying fuck about what other people think of her - she shows up to parties in full battle regalia!

Well, tbh whatever happens probably can't be Ling Qi's idea because she isn't going to come up with such things off her own volition. Everything she knows she got from Xiulan.

And that was the other point I was dancing around, I wasn't sure what the Western territories were modeled off of (or for that matter the Grave of the Sun/Golden Fields which I considered another potential group for an India analog), which is why I asked if it was a historical trend in chinese fashion. If you're right and the Western Jungles are India inspired than Ling Qi would be using the fashion of the barbarians that resulted in the Bai's loss of imperial favor, when Ling Qi's best friend is Meizhen.

And again, I don't expect anyone to actually change their vote because of this, it was just something I thought of reading the suggestion for it.

Li Suyin has a doom gauntlet and gets carried around on a palanquin by skeletal minions with rubies for eyes. Our liege wears a dress that hungers for violence and bloodshed. Jiao, one of our biggest influences, literally wears the most garish clothing possible to actively fuck with people. A tasteful set of silver hand jewellery engraved with moon iconography is nothing in comparison, especially when we already play more towards the Weilu aesthetic.

And if they do talk? Fuck 'em. In twenty years we'll have blown past them all while looking stylish as fuck.
