Aiding the E.G.G.M.A.N. (Sonic)

[x] The E-series prototype.... Alpha. It is not intended for front line combat, but as befitting of your creators genius even this prototype has some potential if applied correctly.

The points about Alpha are valid ones.

If we improve it, maybe we can find some new ideas for the eggbots too.

As much as I want to bring these guys back the boss will probably need a E-Series model once Gamma betrays us, and the others disappoint the Boss, but having more to the Metal Series could be interesting as well.
It says something about how skilled Gamma was that despite having a sub-par combat frame Eggman would still favor him enough to make several duplicates including a semi-mass production model seen in adventure 2 and that he'd even base some design choices for Omega on him.

As an general rule E-series with some exceptions (The Egg Keeper is E series and the Advanture 2 versions of Gamma are a rush job) are going to be elite mook level at weakest if done right.

Any ideas, cause all I can think about are more variety for the weapons they can use.

After looking at the fandom page, two things aside from weapons spring to mind.

One is the fact is a hovering unit, which means we could make hovering eggbots that can be used like snipers or kamikaze units.

The second is the fact is has a 'overdrive' mode, which essentially is a berserk function that could be useful in a pinch.

Anything else is obvious to me, maybe a way to improve generators for both it and the pawns, along with the superior armor and extendable fists that we could theoretically integrate into many of the pawns. And depending on how far into the canon we are, maybe some way to keep Omega from going off the reservation while we're at it.

I'm surprised he didn't try to recreate E-101mkII cause he does look awesome especially with the weapons and attacks he has.

Hey wait Alpha doesn't have an animal to power him right? And if he does get destroyed we can just use his model for guards that will protect important areas.

Yep Alpha among the current E-series does not need an animal to power him. He's also go the most simple programming among them and tends to be a bit of an idiot but like all of named robots he can be upgraded and gain experience over time.

As for using his model, sure it's possible to make successive E Series units based off of old ones.

Alpha
Though not strictly an 'old' or 'obsolete' machine by any margin of the word Alpha is still the first of his line and as such tends to have a lot of 'issue's both with his AI and with his chassis that the later and more powerful E-series models tend to lack. The most notable of the case of the former being the fact that he is prone to rather foolish decisions such as continuing to attack a target well after it's been destroyed, in the case of the latter his main flaw is that one of most potent methods of area control, his electrical fields also tend to be his primary weakness as electricity is one of the few things able to consistently damage his internal systems through his armor. Needless to say this weakness when combined with Alpha's stupidity has a high chance of end.... poorly for the robot.

Still, you have plenty to work with so far as upgrading the thing is concerned for all it's other faults the Alpha platform is a very stable one.

You have 10 points for upgrades to Alpha.
Common Sense: Alpha is loyal but tends to follow orders even after he's completed them, leading to such issues as the chocolate incident... this should be fixed as soon as possible. 4 Points.
Electric Resistance: Electricity is one of Alpha's biggest weaknesses... you should diminish this. 4 Points.
Electric Immunity: Even with his newfound resistance electricity remains one of Alpha's biggest weaknesses... you should eliminate this. 4 Points (Requires Electric Resistance).
Strength Booster: Some updates have been made to Eggmans designs so far as lifting and striking power are concerned, you should apply these to Alpha. 2 Points.
Cannon: A simple attachment to Alpha's shoulder giving him some form of attack at range beyond launching his fist: 2 Points.
Shield Generator: A Small Shield generator hidden within one of Alpha's gauntlets produces a hexagonal energy barrier that can be turned on or off at will. 2 Points.
Blade: A generator that produces an energy blade hidden inside one of alpha's gauntlets. 2 Points.
Armor up: A simple upgrade to Alpha's durability via improving the quality of his armor plating nothing more and nothing less. 2 Points.

I picked these to help fix alpha's biggest weaknesses by fixing his lack of common sense and giving him electrical resistance with a shield generator for more survivability.

If the shield generator beats me I'm cool with it, but I'd rather he be able to actually just float far enough to avoid the enemy and just blast from range.

It says a small shield generator, so who knows if it even covers all of Alpha. Plus, the fact that it can be turned off is bad, since Sonic is so fast, that he might be able to sneak up on and attack Alpha before he realizes he needs to turn his shield on.

I feel Energy Shields work better against Long Range Enemies, which Sonic isn't. What use is a shield if an enemy can just go around it and attack you in the back? No, I feel durability is better.

As much as I want the shield We're not sure if it will cover the whole body or just parts of it.

Well I think Alpha went after Amy mostly not sure if he did fought against Sonic.

[X] Plan: Not a Shocker
-[X] Common Sense
-[X] Electric Resistance
-[X] Electric Immunity

Wasn't sure whether to get the strength booster or the blade since he will be mostly chasing Amy.

Edit: Well since you did manage to get us 12 points I guess it's fair to vote for your plan, but I would still like to make Alpha more powerful @KidFromPallet

I'd still rather not be anywhere near the little technicolor pests and just blast them from afew blocks away, but all points are valid.

The problem with ranged attacks against speedsters is hitting them. Plus, Alpha is more formatted for physical attacks already, so it makes more sense to enhance those capabilities.

Plus, keeping in mind he'll be going after Amy, he'll need to deal with that hammer. So, armor should help with that.

The shield is basically an energy version of the shields your Egg Pawns now have except Alpha can bring his back online if it's broken and he isn't downed in time... though naturally he has to choose to turn it on, and though it's mainly defensive in nature it can be used for an electrifying shield bash... though that becomes his primary method of attack while said shield is active unless you also have the blade in which case Alpha will tend to activate both at the same time. Sadly this still leaves him weaker to back attacks but most things are weak to being hit in the back.

Armor on the other hand covers the whole of Alphas body and makes it much harder to damage him period when his core isn't expose, and naturally the electrical resistances and int boost make the core being exposed in the first place less likley since that weakness has leff effect or he does less to trigger it.

Heh who knows if he survives this and you manage to upgrade at least 2 more loyal robots to frames of sufficient power you might even have enough to form a proper team when Metal Sonic rebels post adventure.

Alright, so, I'll add E-100 Alpha sections in the info post, and I'll tentatively put Common Sense and Electric Resistance under Completed because every plan so far has included them.

And speaking of plans, lemme just drop this here:

[X] Plan: Not a Shocker
-[X] Common Sense
-[X] Electric Resistance
-[X] Electric Immunity

I'd be using my two free points from maintaining the infosheet to get the total necessary for Electrical Immunity.

Oh I like the idea of Team Metal going out to save our master while the Chaotix tries to save him as well, Alpha could be the Power of the team we will just need one for Flying and one for Speed. Also how does Dr. Eggman generate money in order to build his forces?

He started out selling robots and still does to some extant but at this point he just keeps several backup bases hidden away at varius locations (Not all on planet either) dedicated to resource generation and several more as research areas... and all of these places can act as workshops in times of need.
