@Shard @StormySky @inverted_helix I have words to say and you should heed them because I am right.

Remove the action wherein Rotbart makes a speech. He is a far better general than he is an orator. The more time he spends doing oratory, the less time he spends doing military stuff. Fully dedicate him to doing military stuff.

@StormySky @inverted_helix you two are spreading falsehood. Whether knowingly or unknowingly (I'm assuming unknowingly), you are saying something in your plans that is objectively untrue. Cease doing so and remove the falsehood. This is the falsehood:
"-[X] Primaris Ophelia Jameson (3)- Ophelia Jameson, while good in combat, does not specialize in that field. She should be kept out of the worst of the fighting."
The underlined and bolded section is the falsehood. Ophelia is a Master Primaris. Primaris psykers get their title from being apex warriors amongst our battle psykers and are leaders of battlegroups. Ophelia is one of the best psychic warriors on Avernus and she specialises in war far more than artisanship, research, or anything else. She is a veteran of several major wars be cause her job, as a primaris psyker, is primarily war. Stop spreading this falsehood that Ophelia Jameson does not specialise in combat; she does specialise in combat. That's what primaris psykers do.
I'll change that bit

As for Rotbart, the speech will boost morale, and it won't reduce his planning time by that much.

I doubt it affects his bonus. A speech doesn't take that long.

Accusations like that are in extremely bad taste. It pisses me off. Especially when my plan doesn't even have that line in it. So you're the one spreading falsehoods here.

1. Can we bring down nova cannon shells and place them in the path of the daemons, detonating them when they get close enough?
2. Can we, either by warptech or psykers, send cyclonic torpedoes into the warp in a preemptive attack against the daemonic hordes?
3. Can our Magos Geologis detonate or else create volcanoes on Avernus' Spine?
4. Can Ophelia open a Gate of Infinity to the Ancient One's location?
5. Can we send aircraft or some other form of transportation to pick up the Ancient One and bring him to Dis?
6. Can we send some of our more vulnerable psykers to the shrine fairies for them to sacrifice as fuel for their rituals? (I remember that the shrine fairies sacrificed themselves to the bwana trees during the second daemonic incursion so this kind of thing is not Chaosy.)
7. Can we implant poison canisters in people's bodies and then, psychically or otherwise, trick daemons into eating them?
8. Can we tear open a portal into the warp somewhere on the planet so that Lin's aura can weaken the daemons fighting Avernus' warp defences?
9. Have one of our tech priests, whether Tranth or someone else, developed some kind of experimental superweapon we don't know about in their private laboratories that we can deploy?
10. How quickly can Maximal clone tyranid bioforms?

Leave it to Providence
Leave it to Providence

It must have been luck.

The first few million Angyls destroyed by seemingly natural phenomenon were dismissed as an accident by the Legions. So much power manifested on a single world it was understandable that it buckled beneath their magnificence. To be expected even, a worthy tribute to their majesty.

Then billions started to die as the natural phenomenon grew in scale and ferocity, as the planet itself rejected their coming.

Storms and tornadoes darkened the heavens, as the world roared before their coming, tsunamis of silver shards danced through the skies to flense angelic skin and wings, burning their essences to the core as the pure metal cut deep.

But although the Angyls searched and hunted they could find no cause of these calamities, no source for their tormentor or means to relieve themselves upon it. For what was their heckler but the wind and the ground? Even the daemons in the materium could not strike the earth and expect it to bleed, nor could they command the wind to cease its blowing no matter their power, for all that the imperious daemons did so, expecting to be obeyed.

All they could do was endure the convulsions of the earth as ash and dust was thrown up in almighty quantaties to block their path, volcanoes long invisible or dormant speaking forth their molten song, as Magma Wyrms and tidal waves rose in anger and outrage.

But of course there was a source to all this madness, beyond the sight of god and men. Deep within the world's belly, lay the one who controlled it all. Providence the World had named it, the greatest builder of them all, from whose mind entire worlds were spun, picked out in glass and jewels in the heavens above.

Long it laboured and had tinkered, readying itself for this gilded day. Preparing the region for the incursion that would soon hold sway above it, the cataclysm that would break it down to its foundation.

Through secret paths and mystic lore it built its troves of hidden traps, super volcanoes and mega hurricanes, tidal waves and world shaking earthquakes and more, all the fury of the natural world that it could possibly bring to bare, in a form that the angyls would never be able to resist completely.

It turned the advantage of a few years anticipation and created a series of ambushes so devious and duplicitous that the Angyl's assault was slowed down by hours, their strength cut down as they approached the defended city, minute wards carved invisibly into the ground activating around it, shielding it for the final fight.

It would have horrendous effects on the laboratories, but Providence had used its time to prepare for that as well. It could rebuild them, better and stronger than they had been before.

And when the Archangyl reached the spine, it had a special surprise waiting for it.

The Sin of Man nor really did man itself, know of the true power of the World.

Perhaps a taste of it escaping through a new vent would give them a small lesson in what true power really was?

Providence is quite a fickle mistress at times, its easy to state that everything is predetermined, but sometimes it really is and it can drive you insane.

I actually just noticed I was voting for D when it had a major favor conditional.

I'm voting for B now.
That would get interpreted as using a minor in this case.

Tormod Rotbart and the Case of the Blown-out Throat
Tormod Rotbart and the Case of the Blown-out Throat

Desperation and hatred characterised Tormod's strike towards the Angyels that stalked and tormented him, his armour destroyed and his back up weapons depleted. After days and days of non-stop fighting he was running out of steam, kept active only by his desire to get revenge on the beings that had killed so many of his friends and loved ones.

In the background he knew he heard the voice of Yassaakamtiv, as the dragon's rampaged through the Angelic hoard, but he knew that it was only delaying the inevitable as the titans clashed in the skies above.

The Great One had come and destruction followed in its wake, as its breath and fire consumed all that stood before it, whether they be ally or enemy, Guardian or Weapon they were all nothing before it, as it rendered all to ashes. Whether it was intentional or not it had killed almost as many as it had saved.

So many were dead, but as he fought to the outskirts of the palace he watched in awe as the daemon's cursed leader was thrown from the skies, shattering habs pires beneath its bulk as the World Serpent roared overhead, gathering itself as it bled from wounds on its sides as it prepared to dive down to finish the job.

Clawing at the creature's underside were the heroes left standing, the sudden astartes clad in ancient armour, Jacob, his Nynye friend, Jane, the Lizardman and Areatha, her axe destroyed holding his grandfather's sword, thrust into her hands as he was cleaved in two, by the cursed Daemon.

But, the Angel seemed to pay no attention to them focusing exclusively upon the massive mass of flesh above it, as it gathered a bright spear of light in its hands that drowned the entire region in radiance as it prepared to throw it at the Great One.

Feeling his hatred and anger coursing ever stronger he decided that he did not care about surving any longer. All he wanted to do was lash out no matter how selfish it was, and so he took the orb in his hands before opening his mouth and yelling!

Yassaakamtiv had warned him repeatedly to not attempt a full shout, not until he said he was ready in mind, body and soul. But he was beyond caring at this point about the stupid oversized scaley bastard's warnings.

"STRUN BAHL QO!"

From his mouth emerged a pure white bolt of lightning as he unleashed the most potent shout he knew, the orb searing his body and mind, as his throat felt like it exploded from the sheer force of the technique, as he lost all control of his limbs, as they twitched in random spasms.

His last sight as he collapsed into the ground was of the Archangyl staggering, its spear dropping to the ground as his lightning bolt drilled into its head, disrupting its concentration for a brief and crucial moment the Great One diving towards the suddenly vulnerable daemon its own throat filling with an almighty glow.

I got nothing quippy I'm sorry.

For anyone not on the Discord right now the difference in using a minor or major favor doesn't change what troops we get only how fast we get them. However using a major favor due to the timing will cause the Eldar to be unable to stop a T3 from forming in a inconvenient area and would have to fight them instead of just preventing the formation in the first place.

The Lord of Intolerance
The Lord of Intolerance
Age: Unknown, at least 2500 years from standard reference frame.
M: 14+18=32 - Chedolaomer is no great general by the standards of his peers, but he is experienced, and highly competent
I: 25+27=52- Chedolaomer is a former Inquisitor Lord who successfully masterminded the downfall of the second most successful human Subspeicies, although he was detected in the aftermath, though his actual stealth skills are merely that of a master.
A: 21+4=25- Chedolaomer is an experienced administrator, although it is by no means his strength.
L: 14+15=29- Chedolaomer's knowledge of both the warp and the material is vast, although his utter fanaticism leaves him with gaping holes in his knowledge base, and many incorrect preconceptions.
P: 18+39=57- Chedolaomer's belief in Tjapa and his own destiny is ironclad. Almost nothing can shake it, not even the truth.
D: 21 - 17=4 (32) - Chedolaomer is the very definition of an intolerant bigot, though he has a certain charm to those already inclined to agree with his madness.
C: 21+35=56- Chedolaomer is an Angyl Lord, ranked as one equal to the Archangyl's of the 2nd the Circle. Despite this, his mettle in direct combat is somewhat weaker than what one might expect, albeit partially due to unhealing wounds.
Psychic Power: 40+12=52 (630*40=25,200)- Chedolaomer has the brute psykic power of a powerful Alpha Level psyker, able to burn entire armies in holy light.
Control: 14+17=40- Chedolaomer's control is expert, although not a match for his raw might.

Honored Angyl Lord of the False Emperor (+4M, +3I, -2A, +6L, +12P, +2D, +8C, 40 Power, +6 control. *70 Power Multiplier, type changes to daemon/divine, can claim territory and domains,) - Chedolaomer is a favored Angyl Lord of The Abomination, an existance that brings him many benefits, even as it makes him a slave god of the Greatest Tyrant in the Galaxy.

Paragon Piety Trait: The Golden Lie (
Immune to all mental effects, auto passes all moral checks, +250 to psychic resistance, Truely Believes whatever he needs to, utterly deluded) Chedolaomer is truly utterly convinced in his God's destiny as the True Emperor of Mankind and the Imperium, and his own status as a favored loyal servant. This makes his will as unbreakable as he is deluded. Any attempt to attempt to convince him of his error automatically fails, barring a directly applicable paragon trait.

Paragon Combat Trait: Upon Wings of Gold (Triple Flight Speed, takes better of AA or Ground damage from Units) Chedaomer is a master of arial combat, using his golden wings as if born to them.

Pistol Paragon (+5M, +2D, +2P +3I, +12C, +110 to rolls with Pistols)- Chedolomer's skill with his duel pistols has long since transcended the realm of mortality. Unsurprising, considering he's hardly a mortal.

Paragon Gunslinger Trait: Arsenal of the Golden Despot (Pistols hit two size categories larger. Can reformat weaponry at will to face opponent, never run out of ammunition) - Chedolaomer is a brilliant wielder of paired pistols, and is capable of reformatting his weaponry at will with his power.

Paragon Power Trait: Light Of Expurgation (Deals triple damage to Abhumans) Chedolomer's hatred of the Abhuman is so intense, it even dominates his Tyrant given warpcraft, making his skills especially deadly against the varried strains of mankind, or at least what he believes to be such.

Paragon Intrigue Trait: Rosette of Gold (Can reroll all checks to falsify orders no matter the distance, +100 to rolls to falsify orders, +75 to bluff checks to impersonate a figure of authority) Chedolomer once used his cunning, and the power of his Inquisitorial Rosette to divert massive numbers of reinforcements from the defense of the Squat leagues. He is an expert at falsifying orders and pretending to have more authority than he actually does.

The Lord Of Intolerance (+5M, +10C, +4A, +20p, +12I, -25D, - 5L, +3D with human or angyl abomination followers, +9 power, +8 control, Eternal Hatred of All Squatkind) -Chedolomeris the lord of intolerance, filled with such hatred that he fed the largest Abhuman species to the Tryanids, and in so doing earned the eternal wrath of Squatkind, and the enmity all 9 first founding chapters.

Enduring Wounds (-3c, -2Power, reduced favor)- The Wounds he incurred in his attempt to slay the Sanginour trouble him still, reducing his power and strength.

Fallen Inquisitor Lord- (+4M, +9I, +2A, +14L, +5P, +4D, +8C)- He was once the greatest of inquisitors, before his fall.

Demonic Power- Lord of Acolytes (+8 control, can create Ishim, infiltrator spec angyls) - Chedolomer's power can spawn masses of utterly loyal Ishim, expert infiltrators and combatants loyal to his every word, for better or for worse.

Master Pyromancer (+5 Power, -2 Control, +50 to all Pyromancy rolls, can use even more powerful Pyromancy)- Chedolomer has an innate affinity for flame and light that is truely frightening to behold.
@Durin A character sheet to complement The First Slave. The Lord of Intolance marches upon the Archheretic

I am Alpharius. I am Omegon
I am Alpharius. I am Omegon

Alpharius Omegon stared up at the gilded skies and pondered for a brief instant before ordering the initiation of the Aerifications protocols. The plan he had set into motion in order to protect the life of the Saint from being devoured by the Abomination of Man and resurrect his not sibling and killer from eternal slumber.

It was not out of any love remaining for their father that they did it, nor even out of love for humanity. For too long they had seen the black heart of what humans could accomplish out of petty hatred. The abomination that even now came to this world was more than proof enough of that.

But they had seen the galaxy, how beautiful it could be. It did not deserve to be despoiled by Chaos and Orks. This world in particular was protected. So that its purity so hard fought for should be preserved even against the dying of the light. So, they fought on every world against Chaos and against other Alpharius and Omegon's who had come to different, incorrect conclusions, corrupted and made slaves to the darkness long ago.

It might have been easier had the Inquisition of this polity been less skilled at their job, but it mattered little now, its plans were still in place ready to go, as buried sleeper agents revealed their true training and skill throughout the militas, those who had previous been the least skilled of their companies showed that they were elite agents equal to any helguard if not superior. From buried ruins emerged astartes clad in an array of colours, but all bore the same hydra headed mark somewhere upon their gear and all spoke with one word as across the planet the influence of the Hydra appeared in full.

They were the Alpha Legion. They were Alpharius. They were Omegon!

Hydra Dominatus.

I'm stress writing and running out of steam...I've never done this before.

Slight problem there.

@Durin

1. not in the time you have
2. no

4. no, telaportation is rather unrelible right now
5. you can try

I thought it was a T2 ork waagh that is potentially forming, not a T3.

also, I have completely lost track of what all the different plans are doing/not doing and which are what and green hams.

I actually just noticed I was voting for D when it had a major favor conditional.

I'm voting for B now.
I'll bump that up to guaranteed major favor use, since it seems that the forces being so small doesn't decrease the favor effectively.

@inverted_helix

Would it be possible to increase prioritization of Astartes to 3? We will want to preserve them for when the Exalted comes.
Right now the difference in deployment of super elites is really the only difference between the plans, so I don't think that would be a good idea on that basis.

Plus I feel like astartes are really not going to matter at all against the Exalted, so I'd rather them keep our heroes a little fresher to face the Exalted.

also, I have completely lost track of what all the different plans are doing/not doing and which are what and green hams.
Essentially the only difference is D deploys our super elites more, as opposed to B which prefers to reserve them for later.

@StormySky @inverted_helix, please include in your plan sending a transport to the Ancient One to pick him up and deliver him to Lin. We know from the second daemonic incursion that he can fail to get to the Exalted before they accomplish their mission, so we shouldn't assume that he already has some form of transport. The best and safest thing to do is send our own transport to him so he has a better chance of reaching us in time.

But, while they had not been able to prepare for the sins of their sky kin, the sins of man they knew of. And they knew how best to defeat them.

Two systems, two weapons of intricate runes, to defend their home and crush their foes both at the same time. The first to turn the sea against them, to drown and crush them within those dark depths the second to drown their light in blackest night. To take from them that which they hold most dear.

Two systems that they could create, at least in part. The runes that created the effects were well within their abilities, power source was lacking. A thousand runes of power supplied with energy by their princesses could do the job, but that was inefficient. Inelegant and worst of all flawed. A single damaged rune and the entire device would fail. Instead they needed to find an alternative within their commission.

And who to ask, but their most ancient ward, who long ago mastered the true rune of power, and could carve and inscribe it with practised ease.

Entreating with her, she agreed to carve and charge two such runes, in exchange for a commission later down the line, a price that was eagerly agreed too, as she began work, finishing it only hours before the incursion began, beginning to charge it just as it arrived as she forced power into the devices, bringing them to full power almost immediately in her haste.

Even as she left, returning to the humans and they began to see to their own defence, they finalised their weapons, tuning runes, placing them upon the bridges and enhancement runes and finally letting the power run loose.

The sea churned and then rose into the sky, as a tidal wave of unthinkable proportions appeared in the heavens, the stunned angyls slamming into the body of water, to be crushed within its roiling coils.

But, this was merely the simple guardian of their home. The one more powerful whose influence spread over entire regions was the Shadow Stone.

A veil of abyssal night fell for regions, blotting out the gilded skies as the Angyls began to choke upon it. The shadows racing into their bodies, snuffing out their light as within their warded city the Sirens laughed and prepared their bodies to feast upon the flesh of warp spawn once again.

Sirens do things too.
