Therefore, more ornate buildings are more safe, because those who made them and live in them are more experienced, and less ornate buildings are less safe, because the dangers around them are not as understood.
But if that is the case, why is Avernus' architecture plain given the centuries of existence on the planet? And if it's not, why would Shard and Durin argue to the effect that it is?

You misunderstand it is not plain it is utility first everything else later. That does not mean you can't paint works of art onto the bunker it means that the bunker design is dictated but how effective it will be not by how it will look. Also a shift from excessive ornaments, which create blind spots, to more simple decoration that won't get in the way. Again painting is common.

There is a difference between "plain" and "incredibly utilitarian". Just because it seeks function first and foremost doesn't mean it also can't look beautiful. And, adding anything ornamental is probably an incredibly slow process still, as everyone need to be supremely confident that it will not hamper utility in any way, so our cities would still look pretty plain in comparison to normal Gothic architecture.

@Durin
1. Who is the oldest Skink Lin knows of? Seemingly they don't have an answer to the Eldest, eldest and all, but its still interesting to get a beed on this?
2. Now that the deal has gone through has Lin enquired as to what the Skinks are going to be putting all that metal towards?
3. Has Lin asked (and have the lizardmen responded) on whether or not they can create new spawning pools?
4. Do the spawning pools of skink cities still produce Saurus and vice versa, or did they some how turn that off?
5. I think you forgot this Embers in the Dusk: A Planetary Governor Quest (43k) | Page 5156

Anyway, @Doomed Wombat, I think you still ought to change that sentence Andres brought attention to - since City of Stars would be guided by the same utilitarian principles our hives are, saying that they don't lend themselves to creating something beautiful like it would be wrong. Instead, I think better way would be to have Tormod compliment just how much beauty they managed to achieve despite still being focused on function, and that only Dis can compare to it, as more thought went into making our capital and most defended city in least dangerous region look beautiful while keeping maximum utility, in comparison to other hives.

1. ten thousand years

2. feeding Magma Wyrms, and allowing them to breed up

3. he has ask, they cant

4. yes they do, less but still some

I imagine painting patterns would also have some constraints in not providing a good background for camouflage for critters. Could also have 'neighborhood patterns' with a set of colors/designs for an area that matches the local militia color scheme, giving the locals a home field advantage.

Two shots at transcendence are not worth the Risk?

You me, and many others wanted to risk the end of the Quest with the sea action to push Lin to Trascendent !!!
We get two shots at Transcendence anyway. Slightly improving the odds of one succeeding is not worth the odds of the second not happening at all.

Additionally Lizard Peace, while meaningful for Lin, is a very local matter. At best it results in Avernite forces being slightly better equipped. Healing Roboute Guilliman will have galactic consequences, significantly improving the position of the sane powers.

- Year 1 (Trade Talks: Send a message via Eldrad to let Corax and Vulkan know to start preparing for the attempt to heal Guilliman)
- Year 2 (Nynye Trade: Make an antidote to Guilliman's poison when Vlad returns with the healing herbs if they're able to combine the two)
- Year 3 (Request Information: Ask Quartus if they will be able to extract a poison sample from Guilliman)
- Year 4 IF Quartus can extract poison (Trade Talks: Ask Quartus for a poison sample and the geneseed required for the Alkahestry)
- Year 4 IF Quartus cannot extract poison (Siren Trade: Are they willing to help us with the Chaotic Frequencies & subsequent Destructive Frequencies?)
- Year 5 (Trade Talks: Ask both the Krork and the Eldar for their assistance in brokering peace between the Lizardman empires)
@Chlof, I think you should ask for the Lizardman help on Y1 or Y2, so they can help Lin during his entire attempt. Furthermore, while you're getting the poison, I think that at the same time you should also ask for Ultramarines gene seed as that will help. I think that this request for poison and gene seed should be done before both the nynye trade and asking Corax/Vulkan for help, since the gene seed and poison would help both their efforts.

Finagled it a little. Is this better?

Yep.

[X] Plan Vulkan, Herbs and Shipyards T132

There are several reasons why I think that people should vote for this plan instead of Enshurgle.
1. Chlof's plan does not ask the eldar to device a ritual. Between the nynye, the rune of purification, and Vulkan/Corax's work, that's our 3 slots taken up. Asking the eldar for a ritual would not only introduce too many cooks, but it could well be something they can't do on account of the work it requires and how few resources they have at the moment.
2. It gets the poison and gene seed before setting Vulkan and Corax on the task, allowing them to gain their own benefit from having those samples on hand.
3. It pairs the Biologis Ordinatus action with an Explorator Ordinatus action. Not much point in doing one without the other.
4. It includes an IF plan branch in case the skink diplomacy fails, and that plan branch will help heal Guilliman.
5. It does important research and gets rid of more of our backlog, as opposed to getting us yet another Alpha. Alphas are good but they're not as good as the research that Ridcully can do, and the Alpha action is less likely to produce any kind of fruitful results at all anyway because of the unreliability of Alphas.

To be fair, I can see why people want the gravatics sensors, I just think without the ability to pile in on the bonuses it'll turn into another Ward Vault action.

@Nurgle @Enjou @Nurgle I Just a couple of things:
Y1:Request ( Ask the Eldar for help in the Lizardmen peace talks)
I suggest to also add the Krork to this, basically, because @Durin confirmed that we can do it in the same action and having the all the races that survived the War on heaven should help on the diplomatic side.

Another thing we usually use make a request for Arethea, and we use Sound Out for the deals with the Eldar, or any other forces beyond the Imperial trust, I suggest to use the appropriate formula, and since there is not any action in T1 that we can Double Down besides diplomacy I suggest to double down on diplomacy Y1.

[X] Plan Enshurgle T 132

Also serious consideration we should do, the Lizards would be happy with us cheating on the Slann to see how they were created.

This is big on numerous levels, since if successful we'd get Slann back, but they're also the only ones who can create the spawning pools that are the only means the lizardmen have of reproducing.

In other words not a now thing, but in the future when we're building up to trade 2.0 with them, we should really consider doing that, since it'd help on multiple levels and could even get us Old One Tech.
