Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
[X] Black Noise
[X] Arkeus

These are some pretty smart fellows, but I can't quite bring myself not to hedge my bet's with an authority perhaps even more in-tune with the quest.

  • [X] Simple five-point plan
-[x] immediately detonate TE to even the odds and clear the way for our troops. See if we can catch the Bai in the blast with a quick dash forward, but don't worry if he avoids.
-[x] lock down the greens with LW
-[x] move to support Renxiang et al. with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens)
-[x] Hanyi: ranged dps support. Help our troops fight the bandits if they need it, otherwise Zhengui. Do not pull aggro from Bai or his snake.
-[x] Zhengui: keep snake busy while Renxiang and we engage Bai
[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai
-[X] Begin the Spring's End Aria bolstered with Echoes of Absolute Winter (With relevant Arts augmented with Joyous Toast), and clear the board and airspace by detonating Traveler's End, taking advantage of the paralysis effect to Lunatic Whirl any of the surviving Third Realms or enemy rangers to neutralize them. Regroup with Renxiang and company (Recalling our Beasts and playing taxi if needed) to face the rogue Bai, and support her and the platoon with our arts from Harmony and Thousand Ring Fortress, relying on Zhengui and Hannyi to be contest his own Spirit Beast's control of the battlespace with the support of the rest of our unit. If we get a chance at a sneak attack of Call to Ending, take it, otherwise, let our liege take the lead here and back her as best we can.
[X] Plan with Points in it
-[X] immediately detonate TE to clear the field.
-[X] Withdraw Hanyi and start layering defenses on ourselves and Zhengui while linking up with CRX, including empowered Industrious Labors of Fall and Echoes, with the goal of reducing incoming damage.
-[X] If possible without taking too much risk, snare any surviving Greens in LW for Qi sustain. (have six tell Cai not to touch them in that case)
-[X] For the fight focus on supporting Cai and keeping the snake off her, if the opportunity presents itself tag the archer with an empowered HR/CtE, especially if he tries to run.
-[X] Zhengui focuses on team support and tanking, otherwise engage the snake. Hanyi redeployed to support Zhengui and draw out the snake, but only if we deem it unlikely she'll get shot.
    [X]Plan Gank the Snek
-[X]Use the TE AoE damage to eliminate the bandits and clear line of sight for CRX, take care of any leftover bandits still looking to fight while we link up with Cai and buff. Have Sixiang ask for permission and coordinate our plan to take on the snake with CRX. When CRX and her soldiers join the battle and distracts the Bai, have Hanyi draw the snake spirit while protected by LQ and Zhengui. Zhengui and Hanyi should keep it in place as LQ uses FSS to eliminate it as fast as possible. After defeating the Snake, join up with CRX and her soldiers to fight the Bai. LQ should use FSS as main attack, but use FVM to trap him, if it looks like he will run

I do like the part of Gank the Snek that essentially is "Yo, CRX, what do I do? I could go for the spirit beast. Got any better ideas?" Which does kind of translate to "hey yrsillar, you want to write a plan?"

[] Better five-point plan
I'm a bit confused on how updating plans works. Do they get edited in place with old votes transferring forward? Does changing a name split the vote?

I'm also wondering, when people use the OP of a plan's user name (ex. [X]Alectai) is it counted? 'Cause I thought you could only vote using the plan's name...

You can use the plan name or the creators username, either works, though the latter means if the person you vote for switches their vote to some other plan, your vote will change to whichever plan they switched too.

Weighing in on the issue of killing the scrubs.
Everyone of these people is dead. There is no question of their status as corpses, only question is how quickly they die, and death by us is possibly the least painful, fastest option available. And i think Ling Qi knows it, the empire does not strike me as a place that goes for long prison sentences and/or rehabilitation when it comes to bandits attacking settlements.

And even further, we are not strong enough to show mercy here, there is one legit threat in the field, and while i am confident we can take them, this assumes we fight for real and don't try to preserve the lives of our enemies, especially when doing so would be more likely to either distract us in critical juncture, or at the minimum get our allies (you know, the soldiers) dead.
We can have a mental breakdown later, right now, it's killing time.

And speaking of already dead.
If this dude is a Bai (which i doubt), i suspect not only is he dead, his family might also be.
Internal power politicking and backstabbing is all well and good, keeps people sharp and acts as a makeshift qualification exam, but a rebellion this open feels like the time when family tree gets pruned quite heavily.

Changing a name splits the vote, yes.
Updating a plan by editing in place transfers most votes (not necessarily all - people voted for the plan name that is transfered, but if their vote included the plan text and said text in the original vote changed then their vote stays with the text they specified instead of switching to the new text).

Updating plans is a controversial subject whose details people disagree with. I think most everyone would agree that it is okay to make trivial changes (e.g. fixing arithmetic / spelling / grammar), and that it's NOT okay to make changes that violate the "spirit" of the plan (e.g. pushing a plan that has Ling Qi specifically try to be nonlethal, only to change to using the TE nuke). The middle ground is more conflicted.

My personal opinion is that you should avoid making potentially controversial changes to your plans, ESPECIALLY changes which may be controversial among voters for your plan in particular. For borderline changes, it is good practice to specifically ask if people have objections to the change, and be loud about the change if you do make it so that people can shift their votes if they feel it is appropriate.

There's a real chance Plan with Points in it can win.
