Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

-[] Support Renxiang with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens)
A potential slight correction to this: do you mean to also include the subordinate of Cai who had yellow / bronze combination? Because this phrasing could be misunderstood to not to include him.

EDIT: Was corrected about the accepted use of terms by the poster, not a problem anymore.

Adding to this, I also have some thoughts on our "LW the greens" plan.

The thing is that LW isn't really fire and forget. It needs us to keep them within IPF, which has a much smaller range than FVM.

It makes sense if we're pinning them for our troops to pile on them, but that might not be the way things go. For example, it is quite possible - indeed likely - that Renxiang is going to rocket off ahead and try to pin down our Bai friend here. Letting a Green 5 archer sit around to take potshots is probably not a good idea afterall. In this case then we would want to be going off to support her, and leaving the bandits behind for our troops.

LW then won't be very useful (and might just waste time if we're wanting to make sure we've got Echoes and buffs up on us an Renxiang asap).
I am pretty sure LW randomly teleport them around in IPF, so they follow us. Maybe you don't want to drag them around us, but I think it's fine? It means they'll be in range of our AoE's, and close enough that if they escape we can gank them with FSS.

  • [X] Simple five-point plan
-[x] immediately detonate TE to even the odds and clear the way for our troops. See if we can catch the Bai in the blast with a quick dash forward, but don't worry if he avoids.
-[x] lock down the greens with LW
-[x] move to support Renxiang et al. with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens)
-[x] Hanyi: ranged dps support. Help our troops fight the bandits if they need it, otherwise Zhengui. Do not pull aggro from Bai or his snake.
-[x] Zhengui: keep snake busy while Renxiang and we engage Bai
[X] Plan: The Might of the Cai
-[X] Begin the Spring's End Aria bolstered with Echoes of Absolute Winter (With relevant Arts augmented with Joyous Toast), and clear the board and airspace by detonating Traveler's End, taking advantage of the paralysis effect to Lunatic Whirl any of the surviving Third Realms or enemy rangers to neutralize them. Regroup with Renxiang and company (Recalling our Beasts and playing taxi if needed) to face the rogue Bai, and support her and the platoon with our arts from Harmony and Thousand Ring Fortress, relying on Zhengui and Hannyi to be contest his own Spirit Beast's control of the battlespace with the support of the rest of our unit. If we get a chance at a sneak attack of Call to Ending, take it, otherwise, let our liege take the lead here and back her as best we can.
    [X]Plan Gank the Snek
-[X]Use the TE AoE damage to eliminate the bandits and clear line of sight for CRX, take care of any leftover bandits still looking to fight while we link up with Cai and buff. Have Sixiang ask for permission and coordinate our plan to take on the snake with CRX. When CRX and her soldiers join the battle and distracts the Bai, have Hanyi draw the snake spirit while protected by LQ and Zhengui. Zhengui and Hanyi should keep it in place as LQ uses FSS to eliminate it as fast as possible. After defeating the Snake, join up with CRX and her soldiers to fight the Bai. LQ should use FSS as main attack, but use FVM to trap him, if it looks like he will run

[] Better five-point plan
-[] immediately detonate TE to even the odds and clear the way for our troops. See if we can catch the Bai in the blast with a quick dash forward, but don't worry if he avoids.
-[] Spool up Echoes to dampen the incoming fire while we move to regroup with Renxiang. Take potshots with HC to recover qi if there's time.
-[] Support Renxiang with defensive buffs (though don't spread expensive techs like HRA around on everyone - keep those to the greens and bronzes)
-[] Hanyi: ranged dps support with Zhengui. Do not pull aggro from Bai or his snake.
-[] Zhengui: keep snake busy while Renxiang and we engage Baidude

I like this, but point 3 needs to specify greens and bronzes - there was one guy who was yellow/bronze, for example.

@Erebeal I think that you should include using Joyous Toast as much as possible in the plan. JT for LW probabably means better Qi leech and resist, and might include targeting more enemies, so it's a net gain for the leech, qi wise. If we ever use HR, JT'ing it is also a strict gain Qi wise as it top us off anyway.

As for HDW techs, they would probably strongly benefit from JT, and our team would be glad for it.

It occurs to me that this archer, being a Framing stage Green cultivator and non-"peasant", is likely to possess escape talismans for a withdrawal in case things go south for him. He'd be worth more than his entire force several times over. However, it seems like the package holding the trade goods would be warded against the translocation of escape talismans, the same way that it appears to be impossible to store it in spatial rings or open and redistribute its contents.

@yrsillar would Ling Qi know whether high-level trade packages would have these sorts of protections?

I suddenly wonder why high level trade doesnt occur purely through spatial teleportation. Probably inconvenience.

I'm not too happy with some of the choices and wording on 5-point plan so here's an altered version that emphasizes defense and survival as top priorities.

[X] Plan with Points in it
-[X] immediately detonate TE to clear the field.
-[X] Withdraw Hanyi and start layering defenses on ourselves and Zhengui while linking up with CRX, including empowered Industrious Labors of Fall and Echoes, with the goal of reducing incoming damage.
-[X] If possible without taking too much risk while layering defenses, snare any surviving Greens in LW for Qi sustain. (have six tell Cai not to touch them in that case)
-[X] For the fight focus on supporting Cai and keeping the snake off her, if the opportunity presents itself tag the archer with an empowered HR/CtE, especially if he tries to run.
-[X] Zhengui focuses on team support and tanking, otherwise engage the snake. Hanyi redeployed to support Zhengui and draw out the snake, but only if we deem it unlikely she'll get shot.

Key differences:
- not explicitly trying to catch the archer in TE, he likely has a perfect defense or defensive domain weapon that would make it a small movement in the wrong direction.
- Hanyi only redeployed when we're better guarded. (she's got D rank HP, seems like a real risk to outright die if the archer targets her with something high damage)
- explicit contingency to make escape harder for the archer.
- Makes Zhengui's priorities clear as team defense/healing first.
