Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Qi doesn't work like that. Getting 80 successes gets us up to A5 base qi. Then the xp bar refreshes and we have to do it again.
I'm looking on the front page, and I'm not seeing where it says Qi works like that? I found this bit which says it'll level up at 80 successes, not 120, but nothing about A5.
Base Qi: A (0/80)
-Bonuses: Way 20
-Penalties: Zhengui -10, Sixiang -15
Available Qi: B25

So uhh, is their anything I need to read before this quest. Or am I just good to go?

Everyone, if we aren't finishing EPC this month, that means we aren't switching to AG next month. Why do we need to then spend the 2 AP now to get AG 1? We can't train AG 2 until we switch to AG, which we can't do until the start of month 3 when EPC is capped in month 2.

2AP is kind of the minimum to finish AG1.

We can now train AG 2 without losing EPC successes. Getting AG2 is probably not that useful, but we want to be slowly grinding AG so that we can cap it sooner rather than latter, given how good Argent Soul was. It's basically something not so useful but nice for the longer term, and hopefully AG3 will begin giving permanent bonus.

With the huge Vent bonus 2 AP actually has us at 123/100 successes for AG, it would take fantastically terrible rolls to fail.

Also, @Arkeus with respect to training AG2 while still in EPC: Is this based on anything but a lack of a restated ban on training it? Or did Yrs make some statement I missed somewhere saying that rule was gone?

1.1 multiplier I'll add it in a moment

This is a +0.1 to the multiplier, right, not taking the multiplier and doing *1.1 to it, or anything else that's silly?

Assuming that the former is correct, and taking all known bonuses into account, SCS would have a multiplier of *1.55 (+.2 from Cultivation bonuses, +.2 from Spirit bonuses, +.1 from the Temporary bonus, and +.05 for being a spinal Art).

Plugging it into the formula, with the knowledge that Sixiang now provides a multiplier to successes and not assuming any bonuses for tutoring or training with a friend:

(T + S/4 + R) * A = (6 + 140 / 4 + 20 (High Medicine) + 25 (EPC)) * 4 = (6 + 35 + 45) * 4 = 86 * 4 = 344 dice * .55 (Average successes per die) * 1.55 (multiplier) = ~293 successes = 336 / 500.

(T + S/4 + R) * A = (6 + 140 / 4 + 20 (High Medicine) + 25 (EPC)) * 3 = (6 + 35 + 45) * 3 = 86 * 3 = 258 dice * .55 (averages successes per die) * 1.55 (multiplier) = ~220 successes = 263 / 500.

86 * 2 = 172 * .55 * 1.55 = ~146 successes = 189 / 500.

Yeah, if we want to get SCS 7 next turn, don't go under 3 AP on it this turn.

@Alectai since we don't need 3x AG actions to get it to AG 1 with good overflow(barring disastrously bad luck), why not switch one action off to another sect job for Larceny or Fortitude?

[X] Plan Dancing Through Danger
-[X] Invest 4x YSS (+12 Free YSS)
-[X] High - 20 dice for 25 (40-15) red stones per action
-[X] EPC Successes Go to EPC
-[X]Buy Sect Sponsored GSS
-[X] Cultivate Spirit x4 (Presence x2 , Manipulation, Wits)
-[X] Cultivate Phys x4 (Dex x2, Strength, Stamina)
-[X] Cultivate EPC x4 (Perceptiveness x2, Stealth x2)
-[X] Cultivate SCS x3 (Dance x2, Wits)
-[X] Cultivate Argent Genesis x2 (Resolve x2)
-[X] Take Sect Jobs x3 (Fortitude, Larceny x2)

Ok I guess AGx2 is fine then. I still like Arkeus' plan more, I want to poke an AP into that Archive. But @Arkeus I really think Manipulation should be a higher priority than Wits. It's only at C and it's the stat we hit with, Wits is Perception and Initiative sure but hitting should really always be your favored stat.

I can adjust AG for something else, I'd just rather not because we're going to need more progress anyway.

Remember, we can train two Cultivation Arts now, we just only benefit from one in any given month. And AG is way behind.

The "only two AP per attribute" rule is rather limiting... add the basically forced stealth for missions and EPC is getting really annoying with it's own limitations.

[X] Plan setting up for the grind

I prefer this one, as a brief stop to check what's available will be useful even if we won't get any of it (and we probably will need another art anyways soon). The trained attributes are also better in my opinion. AG levels will be pretty easy to squeeze in here or there, and maxing out AG isn't a time crunch, so I don't mind discarding an AG training action now.

What makes "Setting up for the Grind" so appealing anyway? Literally just removing an AG training session? I could move that over to Archive Research or something, or see if I can get AS to be ready for a big push later--or hell, Sect Duties even on top of our Sect Missions to see if we can get a couple more CP, but it might be premature to do research if we're not getting to Cultivate in it.
